Previously, the lady who ran the register never smiles or greets you… you don’t feel welcome there. And the food was mediocre. However, it seems like they have a new owner and name so I’ll give it a try once again.

My mother in law lived not far from this TK Noodle back in 2006 so, I always visited this location. It is very surprising that there are so many bad reviews about this location. I have been there more than 50 times and I never had any problem with their food. Service was fast and their soup always tasted same to me. Maybe I am not a sensitive person to notice all those bad things about this location but, even when I visited them few weeks ago for a long time, everything seemed to be way it was back in 2006 Well, I will carefully check if anything is wrong next time I visit.

This is your typical TK Noodle house. It’s nothing too special and the food is usually pretty greasy but its decent if you are looking for comfort food. =)

NEGATIVE10STARS. Preface: I know you go to TK for that only-at-TK-taste. After a night out, that’s what some of us were craving. BUGS. PLURAL. INTHENOODLES. So gross. Okay, bugs are protein. It’s what they represent that makes me feel disgusted. My friend wanted chili sauce and went to another table to grab it. DOZENSOFFLIESALLOVERIT. Because of that, he decided to check his food more closely when he got it(he ordered the chow mein). Lifted a forkful and upon closer inspection, realized there were THREETINYBUGS on ONECABBAGELEAF. GROSS. SOSOSOGROSS. There were bugs not only on the veggies, but the noodles. I canceled a to-go order, sent that plate back… and did not eat another bite of what I had craved for so long — the beef stew noodle soup. THISISTHEICING. I go up to pay for the Thai Tea I ordered. She charges me for m, y noodles. I actually paid it. I do NOT know why! She had a bad attitude from the get go. This is the WORSTPLACEEVER. DONOTCOMEHEREIFYOUWANTTOCOMEOUTALIVE. This is not a reflection of the other TK locations… just this one in Newark. Disgusting.

I take it back! when my boyfriend was hired to this place he told me a bunch of stories! no wonder this place has barely any customers. 1. one of the workers was taking out the trash with my bf and had to pull the dumpster out. he didnt wash his hands afterwards. 2. plates and bowls were machine washed. there were still stains on the bowls and plates. they still used em. 3. one of the cooks touched raw food and touch cooked food right after. 4. one of the cooks took a raw slab of meat and tried to hump another worker. there are more, but i forgot em. dont eat there anymore!

Not the best TK Noodle stores. Service is fast and the food is hot and still pretty good, but they give you less food for the same price other places charge. You probably should go to King Noodle if you want a lot more food for less.

It was a warm, make that really warm day today and what was I craving for lunch? A bowl of hot soup, weird huh? I was driving on Cedar and realized I haven’t been to TK Noodle in awhile so there I went. You know when you have a bad feeling in your gut about doing something before you do it? LISTEN to your gut! It’s been at least over a year since I’ve been to this location but man it’s gone downhill! The menu has changed, they don’t offer small or large, just large. Other than that the menu offerings are still the same but, the rice plates only have pictures but no prices, whatever. While I was waiting for my #3, I was just checking out the condiment rack and YUCK, YUCK, YUCK! The bottle of hoisin, the spoon for the hot chili, basically everything had such a dirty and sticky feeling. What they were missing was a bottle of anti-bac gel on the table cuz I just had that ultra-germy feeling. I wanted to walk out but it was too late, my bowl of soup was coming. It tasted the same as I’m used to but now I just started freaking myself out thinking about if it’s this dirty in the eating area, I can only imagine what the kitchen looks likes. Oh snap! Places like this makes me wish we had those Board of Health grading systems like they do for restaurants in SoCal.

I have been to different locations of TK noodles, most of them are okay and acceptable — but this one is absolutely the worst among all of them. I have dined in at this place for once, but ever since that time I only order to-go when I really have no choices other than TK noodles. The place is kind of crappy n dirty(to me) but I know what you pay is what you get, so when you pay like $ 5.50 for a small bowl of noodles you can’t expect anything decent. I usually order combination w/wonton noodles — the soup base is so so, kind of oily and salty. it’s not a bad idea if you want something really quick and cheap. I think they are doing 40% off menu items,(not sure if its still on), so it is definitely a good price for that quality of food after 40% off. and yeah, they take credit cards too.

I went here along with my parents, my older brother, sister-in-law, and nephew this afternoon after an unsuccessful attempt of going to the new HK Noodle, which is located in the same shopping center. I ordered the combination chow mein. As Cobber said, it’s JUST a noodle place with no particular flavor. Same is true for their chow mein. I had to add a dash of red vinegar and still that was not enough. It’s no wonder this place was very much empty on a Sunday afternoon(around 1:30PM). Certainly the worst of the TK Noodle locations. Like Jim, I too will not be coming back to this TK noodle. Especially with plenty of other restaurants located in the same shopping center.

I usually order two #1 to go. One for me, one for my wife. I get a ton of the dark sauce and some Sriracha. For some reason, the to-go order tastes better than the dine-in. Just my opinion. The soup probably has MSG because my mouth is dry for throughout the following day. But it’s worth it.

A choice between Jack In the Box or TK. Noodle. I chose TK and I think I did not make the right choice. I ordered the beef stew noodle(egg) and was I in for a surprise. For $ 5.50 I thought I would get just a little more. The soup had 2 small pieces of beef, some fat with tendon and a quarter carrot. The soup base was OK, kinda salty. Nutritional content: 3 g of protein 20g of fat 25 g of carbohydates 250 calories 500mg sodium 0 value to the body I don’t think I’m coming to this TK noodle anymore. I’m going to Hawaii in May and I can’t be feeding my body that kinda food…

Ahhh, TK Noodle… how do I love thee, let me count the ways. Let’s see, 9 and 32, and sometimes 29. What rainy day wouldn’t be complete without a hot bowl of #9 wonton combination soup, #32 hot milk coffee, and #29 fried daikon flour cake. Yum. There’s really no logical reason why I should like this place so much. They never give you water when you ask for it, and sometimes in warmer weather there’s flies buzzing around but some reason I keep coming back for the #9 soup. Bizarre. Definitely a case where the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. Best to go in the morning or afternoon, when the chicken broth is fresh. I’ve gone closer to closing time(9pm) and I found the soup to be… ah…not as robust as earlier in the day. Good cheap eats, so-so service(but fast), lots of parking. Check it out.

So fast food soups is probably your best bet if you are running short on cash and time. The Large #9, combination wonton soup is always consistent and always a bargain. The best part of the soup, however, are the small soft-on-the-outside and crunchy-on-the-inside deep friend pork rinds pieces floating in the soup! Enjoy a bottomless cup of tea and either a vietnamese or spanish conversation with one of the workers. –Matt

Today made my 2nd visit to TK Noodle with co-worker. Me: I think I’m going to get the #2 Co-worker: It’s spicy you know Me: Yeah, that’s part of the reason I’m ordering it. Couple minutes later, waiter comes to take our order. Waiter: It’s spicy Me: uh yeah I know. Different dude comes to serve food. Gives my dish to co-worker. Both of us correct him. I guess I don’t seem like the type of person who eats spicy food. I recommend the #2 btw. Good stuff, assuming you can handle spicy food. And I have to say it is spicy, but it isn’t quite on the«omg my mouth is on fire!» level. No, if you want that, i suggest you go with a «strong» kimchi chiggae sometime. Anyway, service is quick and food is cheap($ 3.75 for a filling serving). Great alternative to standard fastfood place.
