Snack Shack Popcorn Stand is to blame for the overwhelming smell of buttered popcorn inside Newark Penn. The smell of fresh popcorn by itself is wonderful, but not when its mixed with some of the«lovely» odors one encounters at Newark Penn. –Price:Mixed Nuts $ 2.00 per ¼l lb. Awesome stand that is hidden off the main concourse near the front entrance of the McDonalds. The popcorn is fresh and there are a variety of seasonings that you can add. A good, cheap snack(1.50) between trains, definitely gave a boost to my mood.

This little stand at Newark Penn Station rocks. There is always a line and it is worth waiting for. They can season them up. My favorite is cayenne pepper and curry. It is so satisfying at the ned of a long day at work. Support them if you are in Newark.

If you’ve ever been through Newark Penn Station on a Friday night, you’ve probably had to swerve to avoid the extremely long lines for this food stand that pretty much just sells freshly-popped popcorn. They do have big plastic containers full of nut mixes and junk, but it’s the popcorn whose smell wafts through the station and draws a crowd. If you’re going to see a show at the PAC, leave a few minutes early so you can get your corn on! The popcorn: was tops, as far as popcorn is concerned. I’m not an expert, but I do look for a few things. Was it fresh? Oh yes, they’re making it continuously, so there’s no time for staleness. Was it popped the old-fashioned way? You bet. The seasoning? …was just salty enough for me, but they have extra available(though I didn’t see any fake butter, if that’s your thing.) The price? $ 1.25 for movie-theater-small, which is more than enough. And finally, any half-popped??? Yes, I did get a few! To find it, just follow your nose! or if that doesn’t work, try looking right outside the McDonald’s in the station. You can also look at the map I drew:
