I have a lot of experience with this store, since it’s only a few blocks away from where I work. The two pluses here is that the place is clean, and the staff is among the friendliest I’ve ever encountered in a convenience store. The minuses: I have picked up items here — bottled iced tea and store-baked brownies — only to find that they were well beyond their expiration date. In fact, the iced tea had begun to ferment in the bottle, fizzing and exploding all over me when I tried to open it back at work. It was two months past its«good until» date. The next time I was there, the same outdated iced tea was still in the case, just moved to the bottom row. The food isn’t horrible. It isn’t great, either. The staff is very accommodating when they have to correct an order they got wrong. Which they do. Frequently. And the final issue that I have with this store are the panhandlers that loiter outside. They’re not homeless; the homeless will generally accept food and drink in lieu of money. The people outside this store tend to be on the young side, and exhibit the telltale signs of substance abuse problems. When the police or sheriff’s deputies come by for coffee, they scatter. I wanted an iced coffee on Friday, and had to run the gauntlet of no fewer than five people asking for money. As a woman usually travelling alone, it makes for an uncomfortable experience.

The store was organized to some extent. I was creeped out when I was walking with my sandwich for purchase to see a worker at the location taking a picture of me. I saw his phone flash and the to ensure I was not crazy I looked at him. Then he walked away and looked back at me. I told my husband that a guy just took my picture and he said he was taking a picture of the coffee. That’s weird because I caught him. I was extreme uncomfortable and left the store and my husband paid for the items I picked up. Not cool. My tuna sub was not good either tuna was runny.

Five stars because this is a seriously cheery Quick Chek. Each morning I arrive to get my customary coffee and I am greeted by one of the friendliest staffs ever. Good Morning is said in the most welcoming way at least twice before I even reach the coffee… Is always clean and well stocked with all the different necessities for coffee tea and hot chocolate. !!
