History

Established in 1931.

The first Planned Parenthood of Delaware clinic opened in Wilmington in 1931. Today, the organization employs over 45 people at three health care centers.

The mission of Planned Parenthood of Delaware is to actively promote reproductive health and responsible sexual behavior through the provision of comprehensive high quality education, counseling and medical services.

We support the availability of these services for all, including individuals whose access to other sources of help is limited.

We promote public policy and understanding that supports reproductive health and family planning.

We do this in several ways:

* Local Education by trained educators delivering age-appropriate, science-based sexual health education for youth and adults.

* Community Outreach on health information at local events and within medical center waiting rooms.

* Professional Development training, workshops, and resource materials for educators, social workers, teachers, and other youth-service prov
