Was apart of a wedding here recently. The person who coordinated it was completely militant and didnt even allow for photos when the wedding was over (since it isnt allowed during the ceremony). She made family sit in the balcony when they were literally 1 minute late. The tone of the ceremony was very sexist but that was expected however it was still uncomfortable. Just a completely strange and hurried experience. Would not recommend having a service.

This church is friendly, the pastors are knowledgeable and rightly explain the Bible in lieu of todays issues. You go away feeling empowered and lighter. LUV ME SOME MBC!

Excellent church for the entire family. Pastor David Jefferson Sr. is truly a teacher who really uses the word to help us in our everyday living. I have truly used his teachings that have blessed my life with my children, a new home, and a fiancée! This is a church that not only is a blessing with the word, they are a blessing in the community, families, and the congregation is very friendly and helpful.

I moved to Newark from Columbus, Ohio about 7 years ago. This church has become my de facto family during that time period.
The teaching is excellent. My fellow parishioners are all friendly. I’ve had so many opportunities to grow and develop. I even met my wife here. This is definitely a family church.
While no church is perfect, Metro is one I’d definitely recommend.

It’s a different style of church but these guys are so active in the community that it’s insane –even in the middle of this economic climate they give Jesus, give money, and feed the community –i mean actually feeding the community with food. Did I mention that we are in the middle of a recession? lol I support any group with their hands in the community, trying to give others a leg up.
