Established in 2009.

The Intersect Fund invests in people who need help to build strong businesses that create and sustain jobs across New Jersey. Our clients are aspiring entrepreneurs who have the talent and energy to build successful businesses, but lack access to capital and skills in accounting and marketing.

In five years of operation, we have served more than 2,000 entrepreneurs. We have disbursed more than $ 2,500,000 in microloans to more than 700 borrowers with a 97% repayment rate. We provide business training where clients learn how to find customers, increase sales, manage cash flow, understand bookkeeping methods, and more. These activities have created a total of more than 200 new jobs statewide.

Business Owner

Rohan Mathew is the co-​founder and CEO of The Intersect Fund. Conceived in a dorm room in the fall of 2008, Mathew has led the growth of the Intersect Fund to serve entrepreneurs in every county of New Jersey. Mathew has been a leader in advancing the student-​run microfinance field and the domestic microenterprise development field. Mathew sits on the Board of Directors for the Association for Enterprise Opportunity. Previously, Mathew worked for Obama for America and in the Mergers & Acquisitions group at Credit Suisse. Mathew has a degree in mathematics from Rutgers University.
