I came in here expecting a traditional diner type of experience. It definitely was not what I was expecting. We are opening a gym 2 doors down and I came in here to see if I could recommend this place to our clients. I am thankful that I decided to test this place. The customer service in here is almost non existent. The two young ladies who are waiters are oblivious to even what general kindness it. It appears that they cater to their«regulars» and the new clientele is invisible. As I sit here going on 20 minutes without being greeted I cannot recommend this place to my customers. Its sad because its very convenient. However convenient it is, being treated poorly is not worth it. I hope the owner of this place finds this helpful and invests into better workers. With better service, this place could really make more money and I would have no issue whatsoever sending my clientele here. Could also result in better tips for the ladies as well.

I just love this place. The food is always good, I haven’t had anything here that wasn’t delicious. The prices are very affordable for downtown. My favorite menu item is the pizza, always fresh. The drinks are always good, not watered down. Every night there is something going on either karaōke or trivia of some sort. Definitely a chill causal spot to hang with friends or to meet new people.

Great semi-secret food spot along the industrial roadway, located outside of Newark’s downtown district. About ¼ mile from all major highways. On the corner of one way street & main road. Went here for a simple breakfast meal. I previously visited this location because they served Portuguese chicken for lunch. The food here was surprisingly well cooked and had unbeatable prices. I tried two eggs(sunny) homefries, ham, and toast. Food came out warm with the ham prepared exactly as I wished. Pleasantly surprised with the value that I received for such quality food. Eggs cooked to perfection. I asked for A-1 but they had this house blend BBQ sauce that was just as good if not better. Yum. I am deducting 1 star for location. On a busy road. Parking on that busy road side is near impossible. Always cars parked there. Happens to be a DMV across the street. So that adds to traffic and lack of immediate parking. Street that also faces restaurant is on a one way street that you can not enter easily. Also the overall service is just meh. Not rude but also not really inviting. Inside is a bit dark. For some it may be an issue. Also the lack of customers inside may seem like a red flag. Take it for me the food here is good good. It did appear most people order takeout from here. Which I can understand why. Hard to park.

For a deliberate neighborhood dive, the food is good here. I keep ordering the turkey club on rye. Don’t let the area scare you. Yes, it’s dark, but there’s a security cop always sitting outside. He’ll walk you to your car if you ask. Business seems to be brisk, because there’s always a separate party across the room at the same time as live jazz Mondays. My buddy Mel Davis plays live R&B on Thursdays. There’s always something going on here, that’s great.
