Famous Bartending School offers a 40 hour state certification that allows student to obtain employment at upscale bars, restaurant, hotels, etc. We also offer classes for patrons that want to learn how to become a mixologist and host private parties. Our students have the option to return for refresher courses which are absolutely free. Job placement assistance is also available for those who are interested.

History

Established in 2014.

Famous bartending school is not just a school. It’s the land mark and the hub of downtown Newark for lunch and happy hour. Famous has been serving the corporate world since 1985 and is the local favorite. In the beginning of 2014 the owners wanted to expand their business as not only a restaurant/​lounge but also as a institution to educate and train bartenders. At Famous students obtain real experience in which they learn and practice skills at an actual live bar.

Business Owner

The owner has 15 years of experience bartending at the current location. When he became certified he felt that the school in which he attended had not prepared him for the real world expectations of a bartender. His goal was to develop an environment in which students would be prepared to work behind a live bar.
