Not one of Newark’s better options for pizza. Lousy crust and not nearly enough sauce. Very cardboard like.

Pizza was below average hard crust. Atmosphere and staff wasn’t friendly. Would not recommend.

the crust was rock hard and the inner part of the pizza was under cooked. When they re-opened the 1st week was awesome then the next time we ordered was not edible.

So close, yet so far away. I had to reduce my 5 star rating by two notches because the dough is not right. Too thick and too chewy. The rest of the recipe is good to go. The flavor is right, but the dough is one best things that attracted me to this establishment. I will give it a month to work out the kinks and try it again.

BADNEWS, its closed. Was going to get a pizza yesterday but found out they were closed. Hopefully, someone comes in and buys it and reopens it. They need some marketing. Better location, either by the stuff in Heath or up there somewhere on N. 21st street. Also, need delivery.

I am a huge pizza fan and have tried every shop in town. What I have found is that the mom-pop shops tend to do it better and care about the customers and Don and Sues is no different. Don and Sues has been in business over 30 years and for good reason, great pizza. We have always order pepperoni only, I do not like their sausage but thats my taste. The pizza comes full of flavor, has a great taste, I personally think it is the best shop in town. They only offer a thin/average crust pizza, I do wish they had a thick crust as an option. No speed ovens here, they use a gas fired oven that Don himself mans every day they are open, he puts the pizzas in and takes them out, it takes about 30 minutes or so for them to bake one.

Don & Sue’s Pizza Have you ever noticed how some of the best pizza comes from mom-and-pop pizza shops?(Me too!) Don & Sue’s pizza is no exception. They offer an amazing, flavorful pizza from such an unassuming little pizzeria.(and their prices are reasonable too) They also provide a friendly, helpful atmosphere! I give them 5 stars!(and you should give them a try) your taste buds will thank you!

Don & Sue’s is a family owned restaurant in Newark, Ohio. They create delicious cracker crust pizza that I love. It smells so good inside, it drives me mad every time I walk in there. I’ve always gone with my father in law and we play pinball, so it’s big on the feels in there for Aaron A. One thing I really like about the pizza is how the pepperoni gets crispy around the edges. We usually order the big one all the way and take it home. I always think we won’t be able to finish it, but we always do. I credit the lightness of the crust. Delicious. I’ve never eaten anything on the menu except or pizza, but last time I noticed the meatball sub being made MYGOD, that thing is huge! The sandwiches have become a must try. An update is definitely in the works for Don & Sue’s.

Newark has its fair share of first-rate family-owned eateries, and Don & Sue’s is one of my favorites. As a child, fast food was a special occasion, and I still get flashbacks of adolescent excitement when I order here. The shop is split between a small exposed prep kitchen and larger waiting area, with mis-matched tables and orphaned chairs. It’s always warm and almost overwhelming with the scent of baking bread, so if you were hungry when you arrived, you’ll be ravenous by the time your pizza is ready. They use a chewy thin crust base that bends under the weight of cheese and tasty toppings, possibly thanks to the way it’s cut. The pie is sliced in half, and then into thin strips — making the rounded crusty«corner» pieces into coveted points of contention that rarely survive the drive home. But the best part, is the pinball. The machines have been replaced and repaired over the last two decades, but they never fail to provide. It used to be I could barely reach the buttons, and I’d relish the rare victories where I finally scored one more than my dad. Now I’m a crack shot and just as competitive, and I have this tiny pizza parlor and the world’s best dad to thank.

great pizza for the area — the crust is crispy and just write and they aren’t skimpy on the sauce or the toppings
