Never again will I come here. The customer service was awful. Talking to me in a very unprofessional tone. I was very disappointed by their lack of integrity and unapologetic response to my complaint. This is one of the worst places to eat in Newark especially if you have a taste for Chinese food. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. By the way they got one star cause I had to select a rating.

We LOVE this place! The staff is so friendly and they are so accommodating to any changes we might make(hubby and kids don’t eat pork). Everything is made to order and it’s always piping hot. They also take ATM which is awesome! The chicken corn chowder soup is so good and I always get the combo thin noodle. My aunt loves the egg foo yung and hubby gets the chow fun. All super delicious! The chicken egg rolls are super yummy and the won ton soup is to die for!

I want to say since my regular Chinese food place closed up, I have been looking for a new one. Well everyone… I found it. Asia express has great food, they deliver and the food arrives hot. I am soooo glad to happened upon them. Great food, great prices… I will keep coming back and will send others. ENJOY!!! Like my family does.

I tried to order delivery from here got the first time tonight. Didn’t go well. For some reason there credit card machine wouldn’t enter the 7 digit. I understand, sometimes weird things happen. What I don’t understand is why they didn’t call me and inform me of that. Then, an hour later I call to see where the food I ordered is and I get a very rude man telling me about his machines problems. I asked… why they didn’t call me and tell me that. I was told that they are very busy and if I wasn’t happy to never call and order delivery again. I was shocked. I’m sure there was a better way to settle this.

This is a review for their hot and sour soup only. I’m was craving hot and sour soup tonight. I had to have it. Came here to get my fill. Took it home. It was basically SWEETANDNOTSPICY soup. Complete fail. Tasted like sweet and sour pork sauce diluted into a hot base. No meat. All tofu and veggies. I’m ok with no meat(I know tofu is protein) but I can not forgive the nasty level of sweetness. There was no hint of vinegar(hence the sour aspect of this soup) and no spice. My craving has not been satisfied. This should be sweet and mild soup if you were to really call it out. Disappointed.

It’s sad that I have to give this place one star but this is the worst Chinese joint in town. The owner is rude as hell and he’ll keep rushing you to order. Glad to say that I won’t be coming to this trash joint again.

It’s truly amazing how the demographics in this area have changed since my youth. There’s so much choice now when it comes to Asian Cuisine. If you want to find authentic Chinese food in the Tri-City Area, your cup runneth over. Asia Express is not one of those places however. Authentic has its time and place to be sure, but sometimes you just want some old school, heavily sauced pork or chicken with a choice of chow mein or fried rice as a side. All of the classics are here; orange chicken, honey walnut prawns, sweet and sour pork, Mongolian beef with broccoli and hot and sour soup on the side. Even the mighty General Tso with his tastebud conquering chicken graces the hot tables of Asia Express. They charge a small fee for credit card purchases under $ 10, but at least they take credit cards. Also, why are they closed Wednesdays? Average, but good regular ol’ Chinese food.

This is usually my quick stop before I head to work to pick up my to go order. Same usually. Honey walnut shrimp with white rice. Honestly for $ 9 for a meal. It’s truly a bargain. So I’m a returning customer. Asian lady be friendly too. So I guess I’ll keep going here. Cheers!!!

I was going to order delivery to my work place during the lunch time. I was going to order honey walnut shrimp with chow mein. The guy on the phone said«It’s not reasonable. I’m gonna hang up,» and he hung up the phone without waiting for my response. I called back so I could order more stuff, but he hung up the phone without even listening. ITWASSORUDE.

I have ordered delivery twice. The food was delivered promptly and very hot. First meal was the meal for two and was delicious. The second meal was Lemon Chicken and Fried Rice. Very good. Saturday night went with some friends from out of town and ordered the Meal for Six. Quick and pleasant service. The food was plentiful and delicious.

One if not my only place to get fantastic salt and pepper chicken. I never even knew about this place til a few years ago thanks to a former co-worker. Its a small hole in the wall spot next to where Whiskey Town used to be located. Now all my family loves this place. The service is great and the people/family working are very nice. The selection of food is very nice as well and like i said the salt and pepper chicken is the best! Love it forever now. Make sure you all try this spot at least once.

We were pleasantly surprised with the experience here. It was dead when we walked in on a Sunday night. Tiny bowls of complimentary hot and sour soup hit the spot. General chicken and BBQ pork fried rice for the 2 of us. Chicken was crisp on the outside and the fried rice was just right. Good flavor. Complimentary sesame red bean balls were the perfect ending to a delicious dinner. We only ate half, portions were generous. Had to leave a fat tip, it was that good.

Nice mom and pop chinese restaurant. I ordered a combo: fried rice, orange chicken, and sweet and sour pork. Chicken was good, still pretty crispy. Rice tasted right. However, did not like the pork that much. Came with a veggie egg roll. Came out to round 8 $. Probably would go back because of convenience.

I’ve had a hard time finding a good Chinese restaurant in the area and finally, after trying 3 nearby places I found one that is good. Large menu, the lady who rang me up was really nice., and the food was great. I got chow mein, mixed veggies, and mushroom tofu. Nothing was overly greasy or too salty. I will definitely be back to try some other dishes. They deliver too, which is always a plus.

I’m hooked on their honey walnut shrimp(this is my first serious pregnancy craving) I’ve had it for the past 3 days and nothing has changed — glad I have a gym membership. The folks that work there are friendlier in person than over the phone. What I love most about this dish is that they clean the shrimp(no poop line), has no tail, has the perfect balance, and not too sweet. HWS, is one of my fav dishes when I can get it from a place that does it right and this place is good! My husband tried another dish and he said it was good — they have a ton of choices which I like and when this craving passes maybe I’ll try some others. Haven’t tried their delivery bc I don’t want to wait. This place is worth the try ^^*

Let me start out with, that I love«Hole in Wall» restaurants, and after looking at these Unilocal reviews I decided to swing by for lunch. Unfortunately, I cannot agree with these 4 star ratings, this place is pretty bad. I understand if a small business doesn’t have the money to make a beautiful seating area, I can let that slide but when it comes to the food, it has to be good. The food is not good. I got the Kung Pow & Broccoli Beef Lunch Special. These should be no brainer items for a Chinese restaurant. Everything tasted old and the sauces were bland. The meat in the beef dish tasted rubbery and the chicken didn’t taste like it was completely cooked. The people were nice and friendly, but the rest of the experience left me looking for another lunch location. I took about 5 bites of my lunch and just left. I kept the bottled water, that was the only thing I felt comfortable consuming. Go at your own risk…
