I’ve called several times this week, even left messages — no response. Was even unable to find business using address in profile today. I give up!

If you need an iPad fixed, go to Mel. I was heartbroken when I dropped my iPad and it tumbled end over end shattering the screen. Living in the rural midwest, it has been impossible to find someone who is experienced and confident to fix the screen. On a trip to see my brother in Fremont I decided to bring my iPad and try Mel’s iRepair based on his other reviews. Mel was phenomenal! He exceeded my expectations of fixing the screen by also buffing out dents on 3 sides of the iPad — I truly hadn’t noticed these dents before, but his attention to this really impressed me. He was exceptionally detail oriented and professional in sharing the functionality of the iPad on pick up; I felt like he cared as much as I did that it got fixed. Mel set reasonable expectations of time, and met the timeline he set out. He was communicative in the process of fixing my iPad and returned it in good as new condition. The price was very reasonable. Mel has great customer service and skills in repair. I hope if you need an iPad fixed you will go to him, you will not be disappointed.

My son dropped our iPad and broke the screen. It was still working, so we kept using it. He dropped it again, this time having glass fall out and pulling out a wire.
Although I was skeptical about taking our iPad to a complete stranger, I contacted Mel on Wednesday, March 12^th. We talked on the phone for about 30 minutes as he asked questions about the damage and went over how he’d repair it and he gave a cost estimate over the phone. Mel and I met at a Starbucks on the evening of Thursday, March 13^th. (He meets at coffee shops so he can check the wifi on the device to make sure it doesn’t need repair).
He did a detailed check of the device, told me the wifi antenna was broken, then gave me a price quote to replace the wifi antenna and replace the glass. He filled out a contract, we signed, and we went our separate ways, although Mel now had my iPad.
Mel contacted me on Sunday and said it was ready. He was very flexible on the meeting time and place.
We met again at Starbucks, he ran the device through tests again, and I paid him.
I must say, Mel is one of the nicest people I have ever met and I would highly recommend him for any repair work to your device.

I dropped my ipad on concrete and the glass completely shattered and one of the corners was dented. Luckily, Mel was able to restore it to it’s original state.
Mel is extremely professional and will meet with you in a public setting. He has a series of tests he will run on your device to make sure all damages are noted. Then he will walk you through step-​by-​step how he plans on fixing your device and will let you know ahead of time if there’s anything he cannot fix. Mel is very honest, will do the best job possible and will not rip you off. His prices are very competitive compared to other repair shops I contacted. He’ll also give you the option of changing the color of your ipad if you want.
Mel is very smart and competent and has a background in manufacturing of electronic devices. He has spent ample time practicing on his own devices and will do whatever it takes to make sure you are satisfied with the results. I highly recommend going with Mel for your apple device repairs!

Mel has come to my rescue twice now. Once to repair my teenager’s shattered iTouch screen. Mel met up with me at a public place (A+), he was courteous, easy to talk to and not creepy (A+). He also had a short, basic contract for the transaction (A+), that tells me he is watching out for both of us.
Our second transaction involved my shattered iPhone 4s. Since my phone is like my personal assistant, I was panicked! Mel came to the rescue again. He met up with me right away and had my phone repaired in just a couple of hours! That’s service.

My baby cousin dropped my ipad2 on the ground and the screen had a minor crack on it. Found Mel right here on Unilocal and decided to go ahead with him. Meeting with Mel is easy and he’s a great guy. He explained what would be done and approximately how long it would take (dropped off on Friday, picked up on Sunday afternoon). He also includes a warranty on service, which most places don’t. I would recommend his service and return for anything else I need done. Thanks Mel, you did an amazing job!

Our toddler kicked my husbands ipad right out of his hands and it hit the driveway. The glass was all broken and one corner was bent. Since my husband was not speaking to anyone and was going to throw it in the garbage I did a search for ipad repair and found Mel. I was hesitant about contacting Mel at first because you never know when meeting someone off the internet. Who knows if I would ever see the ipad again. After reading the reviews on Unilocal I thought I would try and see what he could do.
Mel was very professional. We met at starbucks and he let me take a photo of his drivers license and car plate. After testing my ipad he had me sign a repair contract. He had our ipad back to us in two days and it looked great. One corner was messed up so he filed it smooth and the new glass is on perfectly. I will definitely recommend him to anyone that wants to get theirs fixed for a good price. He even provides a warranty for 2 months.

I love my IPad. So much so that I bought a special Zagg case, a special purse it would fit in, and I have over 2000 photos on it (not to mention all the apps.) I use it constantly. So when I dropped it, face down on the driveway (while taking a picture of a refrigerator I was about to sell) I felt ill. I couldn’t afford a new one and couldn’t imagine my life without. The outer screen was shattered and left a piece of glass in my finger when I tried to use it. It had to be fixed… I decided to try Unilocal and found Mel. Having just moved here I was somewhat nervous about meeting a stranger and handing over my IPad… but his 5 star rating gave me hope.
Then I met him and every concern I had was immediately put to rest. Mel is a great guy — an engineer who got started fixing his wife’s iphone, then a relatives ipad and a business was born. He only does this one day a week to make some extra $$. I was fortunate to be his last slot of the week but I would have waited 2 or 3 weeks if necessary to have him do the work, he is that good. My ipad was white — he had both the Apple replacement (costs more) and the after market options. He also had a blue option which I jumped on because blue is my favorite color. I dropped it off on a week night, met him at a Starbucks, and picked it up at his kid’s school fair on Saturday evening. He made sure to show me everything was working and I am thrilled to have my baby back.
Bottom line — Mel is the best. If you need your iphone or ipad glass fixed, he’s the only one I would recommend.

When I dropped (twice) my ipad, I didn’t want to send it away but deal locally. Found Mel on Unilocal and very please with repair and service. He was very flexible in arranging times/​places to meet, and went all out in honoring his warranty when we discovered (after repairing the glass) that, oops, the volume switch had broken as well. So Mel re-​did the repair, only charging for the additional replacement parts ($ 20) to repair volume and lock switch.
Highly recommended!

Mel was extremely professional and did an amazing job. Took a totally busted up iPad2 that my son dropped and turned it back into a useful thing. The best part was how clear, honest and professional he remained throughout the transaction. I would absolutely find him again if we have another mishap, and would recommend to any friends.

Two hands is not enough to carry groceries, handle a two year old and safeguard a precious electronic. I nearly cried when the iPad my husband bought me for my birthday flew across the cement in my garage, got a good size dent in a corner and shattered. Without wanting to throw down for the newest version, I decided to get it fixed. Another guy, a friend of a friend, had fixed a previous iPhone I’d had, so while I put in a call to him, I also browsed Unilocal to see what was out there. I emailed Mel the same day.
He was fast to respond and got my business with a totally reasonable quote. He made it easy to meet up and was sensitive to the dangers that come with meeting a random repair guy off the internet, meeting in a public place and allowing me to take a photo of his ID just in case (but he seemed totally trustworthy anyway). He even ordered the parts before I had handed over the device so that he’d have them in time to work over a weekend.
All in all, he put in several hours of hard work, mended the dent and replaced the glass, got it back to me in less than 5 days and there are no issues to speak of. He confessed that he’d left a pinkie print on the inside of the glass that he couldn’t remove since he’d already placed the adhesive when he discovered it and gave me $ 10 off the job. I couldn’t even see it but the honesty and professionalism was greatly appreciated. I would call Mel up again in an instant were anything to happen to any of the Apple devices in my home. Thanks Mel!
