YTF Hair Extensions

I absolutest 100% recommend this place and I have lots of experience with hair extensions. YTF and their stylists understand hair so well and use real virgin hair. They offer numerous types of extensions and consult with you to recommend the best kind for your hair. My goal was to lengthen and add volume but to also eventually ween myself off of extensions once my natural hair had grown. Their extensions are so gentle on the hair that my hair grew to the length of the extensions in 3 months. The salon is an incredibly comfortable environment. Feels like home. And the best part — you won’t drop thousands of dollars like you will at other salons in NYC who don’t even specialize in extensions. Please please please call YTF if you’ve ever thought of getting extensions. Consultations are free and I promise it’s worth your time.

I read the reviews and wanted to experience the work for myself. I set up an appointment for a consultation and was greeted by the owner Satia. She took her time to explain the variety of options but most importantly asked me what” I wanted… how I usually wear my hair and what my expectations are. My hair is a little above my shoulders In unwanted layers due to over processing, so I didn’t expect a miracle .but her staff exceeded my expectations Fresie Debbie, Kiela and Stephanie are exceptional. This is a full service salon where everyone goes out of there way to make sure you are satisfied. Everyone continually checks on you to make sure you are comfortable and to make sure everything is going well throughout the process including the owner. Her staff is amazing! The colorist Fresie is a gem and gave me suggestions on how NOT to over process my hair. Debbie took her time to find the right placement so my hair will flow naturally, there Instagram photos are real… there hair flows! The quality of there hair is beautiful… they were able to color match my hair perfectly! Overall great experience… highly recommend

I don’t write Unilocal reviews. I always mean to but don’t get to it. I was skeptical of reviewing the salon I get my extensions at because no one knows I get extensions.
Also, I originally found YTF for the purpose of getting extensions put in for more volume for my fine hair. Shortly after, I decided that since I had extensions in I might as well cut all of the damaged (previously colored and heat damage) hair off and keep the extensions for length as well.
To test how good it looked, I didn’t tell a single person. Up until now, despite all the co workers who run their hands through the length of my hair, NO ONE has noticed that I have extensions.
Before I found YTF, I thought the only type of extensions that existed were sew-​ins. I wanted thicker hair (or more hair) without causing damage to my own hair.
I found this place after a few google searches and liked the positive reviews. I called and set up an appointment for a consultation.
Setia (later realized she is the owner) asked me questions regarding what was most important to me and explained the various types of extensions available.
It felt a little overwhelming to figure out which method to pick: microweft, micro links, tapes, fusion, ect.
For my goals of keeping it inconspicuous and adding volume, she suggested either tapes or fusions so that the extensions would lay as flat as possible. Fusions are more expensive than Tape extensions but require less maintenance (this could depend on how fast your hair grows).
What I did like was that as indecisive as I was, she didn’t choose a method for me. She gave me time alone to do some research and figure out the pros and cons on my own. I chose tapes because according to online blogs they would cause less damage to my hair.
After my decision, the process was simple. She figured out what color hair would blend best with my own hair. They have their own supplier and multiple colors and types of extensions already in stock. Remy virgin hair tangles less. Specify what you want.
The initial cost of getting the extensions is expensive. It’s an investment though. It has been worth it for me.
I’ve gotten blowouts at salons that do tape extensions and they’ve asked me how much I pay. What I’ve noticed is that YTF’s cost of service is more affordable than lots of other places. As opposed to paying per hour or per bundle plus the cost of styling/​blowout and/​or cut you pay a set price during the maintenance.
The staff is friendly. Setia did my installation and she seems to do most consultations.
Debbie is also able to do install and has done majority of the work during the maintenance. Kayla has given me an amazing blowout. Setia oversees most of the work though and gives instructions to the staff taking care of the hair.
All in all, having good hair extensions can get expensive. I’ve been the most comfortable going to YTF because not one of my friends has noticed that I’ve gotten extensions. My boyfriend didn’t feel them until he ran his hand through my scalp a month in.
If this is the first time for you, do a little research to understand the pros and cons of each type of hair extension. When you do go in, YTF will take care of you and make sure you come out looking absolutely gorgeous.

I’ve been getting extensions for over 10+ years, so I’m very picky about what my hair looks like. After moving from Dallas, Texas to New York City a month ago, I was looking for the perfect hair salon to do my extensions. I looked all over and had several consultations around Manhattan, but after my first initial consultation with Satai I finally made my decision. Satai was extremely professional, greeted me with a smile and made me feel extremely comfortable during the entire process. The entire staff at YTF was accommodating, kind and made me feel like a queen! I have never got so many compliments on my hair and could not be happier with my results! If your looking for the best hair extensions in NYC, look no further then YTF!

Been here once for a blowout because I have hair extensions and everything turned out great. Came back today to get my microlink extensions tightened. Not so happy with the results. I found my hair wrap around self in the microlink and hunt asked for it to be redone. Imagine having a loop with your hair and the tag is rubber band ever and you’re constantly trying to brush over it to get it straight it’s not gonna come out of the wrapper then. That’s what this was like. I’m still not sure if it’s OK or not because I can’t see the back of my head. So then I had a blowout I said I wanted waves she curled my hair with a curling iron frizzed/​fried my ends of the hair. I’m at home right now with leave in conditioner and I have to redo my hair again. $ 50 later

I have been getting hair extensions for about 6 years now and I first came to ytf about 2 years ago. I was sold on this place for the exceptional customer service, they don’t mind answering any of my crazy questions, and they take their time to understand what I want then help guide me to decide on my best option. This is not your run of the mill hair extensions place that’s looking to throw some random type of extensions in your hair. I have seen the owner even ask people to take some time to do additional research on their extensions before moving forward. Like, who does that? These guys are serious about what they do and they are the real deal. The salon is cozy and the environment feels more like a family. You’ll love it.

WOW! I cannot tell you what a horrible experience this truly was. I have NEVER been treated this way in any salon and you can be sure I will NEVER use them. I had a free consultation and was acknowledged (he looked up) from the front desk and never said «hello» or «welcome» or anything else — just «name». Ten minutes later a woman came up behind my chair and said «Come with me». No introduction, no hello, no NOTHING. She had long dark hair and an unsmiling face. I sat down and she asked me what I wanted. I told her, although I just should have gotten up and left at that point. The rest of the conversation was about price and at NO TIME did she even smile once. Like she really wanted to be rid of me — obviously. This is no way to run a business and whomever owns this rotten salon should teach their employees what customer service means. A disgrace. They deserve 0 stars, by the way.

I absolutely love this place, I have the tape in extensions and they look so natural, weightless and manageable. The staff is awesome as well

I visited lift today to have my extensions tightened and hair washed and blow dried. Victoria attended to my hair and I asked her to put it in long curls. She did a FAB job. I have had the pleasure to have my hair attended by Satia, Fresia and Victoria and they are all great hair stylists. I have been very satisfied. Thank you talented ladies. I have attached photos from today, 3÷16÷16.

So happy I discovered this little gem. All of the girls there are so sweet, and will make sure you come out looking beautiful.

After years of horrible sew ins and ridiculous customer service from multiple hair salons I fell victim of «do it myself YouTube junky» learned a lot but clearly am not a professional so needless to say my hairline, what hair line!?? Stress, wigs, glue the list goes on. SATIA was amazing, soft spoken and boosted my self esteem. Not only did she give me the best consultation but she is also a perfectionist. Plain and simple she hooked me up! Frisa was amazing too. The atmosphere is very welcoming u definitely get what u pay for. I’m so ecstatic and confident!!! Def recommend this stylist I can rant on and on don’t think about it just go get your hair done!!!

Best in NYC. My first time to YTF was a couple years ago for my wedding, and I’ve been a loyal client ever since. Love love love my hair thanks to Satia :)

First let me start by saying that Satia is amazing! I was pretty anxious about how the extensions would born in with my hair but she was very knowledgeable and assisted me in selecting what would work best! I love my hair and no one can tell that I have extensions! I also want to add that she squeezed me in for a maintenance appointment on the same day that I called! I love it here and it’s definitely worth the trip from Long Island!

I discovered YTF for my hair extensions several months ago and I have to say, it’s the best decision I’ve ever made for my hair.
It’s always such a difficult process trying to find the right stylist to work with when moving to a new neighborhood. (Especially one who you can trust.) Lucky for me, I found Satia & Demetrius at YTF who surpassed all my expectations. My extensions look absolutely natural, and I am serious when I say NOBODY can tell I even have some in. It is because of YTF and the intricate process they have in installing hair as well as cutting it and blending it with your real hair.
They literally won’t let you walk out that door unless you are happy and feel fabulous about your hair. If that’s not terrific service, I don’t know what is.

This is a reply to the Salon’s remarks. I never said I was «rough» with my hair! To put words in my mouth is very low! Also, I switched to the Abba brand of shampoo and conditioner they recommended after I was told my hair was too dry — I purchased it elsewhere at a better price. I treated my hair like gold once I got the extensions in, even though it was time consuming. I spent a fortune on a pure boar bristle brush, wide tooth combs, shampoo, conditioners, heat protectors, etc. I was careful to get out any knots with a wide tooth comb. Why would I abuse my substantial investment? Yet the extensions kept falling out. The salon would like you to believe I am at fault. They want to protect their business. The only way to make things right with me is to offer me a partial refund or a free service. But instead, they stooped to posting a false rebuttal on Unilocal.
Trust me! I am the one who lived with these horrible extensions on a daily basis! After spending over $ 1000 all I have left is a bag of frayed hair.

This is the only hair salon I will ever go to again. They are genuine and talented and truly strive to understand their customers desires and needs. All of the staff is extremely profession and over time even start to become closer to friends than anything else. My hair is honestly 1000% healthier and more lovely than it has ever been since I’ve started seeing satia and the incredible team employed at YTF hair extensions

FIVE STARS ISNT ENOUGH. If I could give this company 10 stars I would. I have been a client for years. And I ALWAYS have a wonderful experience.
Lets talk about the new location. The space is gorgeous and private! Located in midtown Manhattan, the new space is easily accessible. Its beautifully decorated, clean and not crowded. It also is quiet. MINIMAL street noise.
Dimitrius did my color. I showed him my previous color and he worked with me. I love my color! Its bright and fresh. Exactly what I wanted.
Satia (the owner) did my microlink extensions. I absolutely love them!!! They are so seamless and flawless. You cant tell I have any extensions in. I always feel gorgeous when I leave her! You will too. She is very easy going and she works with your needs and concerns. I absolutely love her. She’s the best!
The Beauty Loft also offers nails and waxing.

Dimitrius & the receptionist were both amazing. He did great, fast extension tightening. I have already recommended to a friend.
I was surprised that Dimitrius was not the owner, he was extremely professional and calm and helping three clients at the same time. Everyone was very happy. I own a spa with 45 employees and notice when someone is exceptional, he really is!

As a former hairstylist, trusting your hair in the hands of anyone else is always an anxiety stricken experience; however, All hail Satia hairstylist extraordinaire!
If your looking for an amazing place to get your extension done, look no further. Satia did an amazing job on my tape in extensions. Short choppy chin length hair to luscious locks in about 2 hours. Such a talented stylist. I can’t wait to go back!

Has to be one of the best hairstylist in the whole New York City area!!! you go in there looking horrible and you leave looking fab. she take so much pride in what she does that she will not let you leave until she is satisfied with what she has done with your hair. even if you think it’s perfect she will not stop until she thinks it’s perfect. just be quiet and don’t tell her what to do. Just leave her hair in her hands, and everything will come out perfect.
Looking for microlinks? She does them. Braidless sew in? Check. Fusion? Of course! Closures? You got it. She does so many different techniques so there is no reason NOT to come to her. Save yourself the trouble and leave your mediocre hair stylist to come here. You wont regret it.
