This place is like a museum! Beautiful Chanel, Dior, Hermes in glass cases. Some of their stuff looks brand spanking new. If only I could afford to buy everything I wanted here!

Hands down my favorite vintage store in NYC! The staff here is always very friendly and knowledgeable. They carry amazing designer clothing and vintage handbags and jewelry. Yes, it may seem slightly more expensive than other comparable vintage shops in the area but I truly believe that this is due to their impeccable quality standards! Definitely a NYC vintage staple that everyone should check out!

Been in here before and the staff was perfectly fine. Came in today and was treated as if I was about to steal something from the store. My friend and I overheard one of the employees saying «I’m watching them» What even?
Really weird vibes from a majority of the employees except one of them who made some friendly conversation with us as we were checking out.
The clothes are great– I love looking around to see what they have whenever I visit the city. Would be better if the store didn’t treat some of it’s customers like second class citizens. That really hurt.

The layout of the store is perfect. They have those vintage-​y pieces for the edgy shopper. Customer service isn’t bad. Pretty helpful. Fairly overpriced for vintage but brand names and a trendy NYC neighborhood typically warrant that. They carry amazing vintage Chanel jewelry. This store is a gem.

Rude staff who are not knowledgeable about anything in the store. They are a bunch of nasty college kids who could care less and can’t wait to get off shift to go drink. They ignore everyone who walks in the door and act as if we need to do them a favor. Hello… Without us customers, they would have no salary! EXTREMELY overpriced flea market garbage. You can find a better selection at UNIQUE thrift.

I am by no means an experienced vintage shopper. In my life, I have gone shopping for vintage clothes about five times. The first time I went, I had no idea what I was doing. I did not know of any good vintage shops; I did not even know what a «good vintage shop» meant. I googled «vintage shops» in Manhattan, read some of the online reviews, and wrote down the name and address of my top three favorites. Once in the city, I went to the address of the first shop, only to find it had closed. I had walked such a long way (I hate taking the subway by myself), and I only had time to go to one of the other two shops I had written down. I randomly chose one, and I am so lucky I happened to randomly pick «What Goes Around Comes Around».
It was light and airy, and lacked the musty smell that often times accompanies old clothing. A woman approached me and she offered to explain to me how the shop worked.
All of the racks of clothing were arranged into «stories», meaning they were grouped together based on their time period. Each rack of clothing, therefore, told the story of an era. We walked around together, and nothing had really caught my attention… until I saw the last rack. It was an entire rack of white and pink silk, dedicated to girly grunge. The woman could tell I was immediately transfixed, and she started to pull pieces and explain the stories behind the clothes. While I was interested, there was one specific piece the caught my eye. I carefully picked out a blush, silk top. It was Chrisitan Dior. She explained the story behind it, and I knew I had to have it.
The silk is of the highest quality; it is soft and fluid, and reminiscent of lingerie, without being outright provocative. Every time I wear it I feel amazing. There is not a single other piece of clothing that I feel represents me so perfectly. While it ended up being the only thing I was able to afford that day, it was well worth the price.
I would definitely go back again for more high-​end vintage clothes. It really is an amazing store with an amazing selection of vintage clothes/​accessories. I’m only taking off a star because some of the stuff here is definitely overpriced.

If you’re looking for authentic vintage Chanel GO HERE!!! I had been trolling second time around, pilgrimnyc, paris station, and other small vintage stores in downtown manhattan for weeks looking for a specific bag. I prefer the older styles of chanel bags as they were all hand stitched and plated with real 22k gold, but everywhere I went, the sales people always seemed to be rushing me and always ended with the «These go very quickly so don’t wait too long» crap. Rushing doesn’t work for used bags that cost upwards of $ 3K.
I live down the street from this store, and had gone in before to browse, and every time have been greeted with hello’s and smiles from every single employee. This time, I was with my 6 month old in a bugaboo stroller (it’s huge), and the nice gentleman in the front offered to carry it up the flight of stairs, stored it in the back for me, and told me to tell him when I would be leaving so he could help me back down. The manager even apologized to me for not helping. Over the top friendly service!!! As a mom lugging around a child, and 40 lbs of ‘stuff’ just to shop in the neighborhood, it was really refreshing to see that unlike other stores in Soho, they were very open to having a mom with a baby come in to browse.
I will admit that the other times I had gone, I was not there on a mission, and found their inventory to be a little pricey, and not unlike stuff you could buy brand new for the same price down the street, but I always liked the décor, ambience, and staff. I would suggest coming here if you have a specific item you are looking for in almost perfect condition, knowing the price range that the item is going for. THIS IS NOT A THRIFT STORE! I wish people would stop reviewing it as such and giving them such low ratings. Go to 23^rd street if you are looking to find a bargain.
As for my sales girl, I can’t say enough about how friendly, knowledgeable, attentive, and helpful she was– even offering me a drink while I decided. She never pushed me, didn’t try all of the sales tactics, and I didn’t feel like I was in a used car lot, like the other vintage stores. She even offered me a 10% discount!!! (I think her name was Paige) The lady that does the authentication was even there and was able to answer all of my questions. They ogled the baby, and kept him occupied, and really at the end, I could have walked out to «think about it», but I felt that I had such a nice experience in the store, if I was going to give someone my money, they were it.
The manager James Morua gave me his card and offered to send me emails of new inventory according to my preferences and was just an all around friendly guy. I worked in hospitality for a decade, and most recently for strategic group which made its empire out of good customer service, and I was impressed! Good job guys.
Remember: When buying vintage, research first, then go.

It’s like a thrift store for those who don’t know what to spend their money on I guess. Aside from the leathers and shoes, I didn’t see many «vintage» items. But maybe I’m cynical.
The designs were certainly interesting, nothing crazy unique aside from the occasional track jacket that looks like it came straight from the Ukraine, but beyond that I saw nothing of major interest for anything in my style. I was hoping for more formal attire, but had very little along the lines of suit jackets and vests.

that said… a chanel blazer i got here for $ 1900. i found at another vintage store for $ 600 and ive been psychotic ever since
they sell plain tshirts with holes and stains for $ 70. if youre into that shit i probably cant take you seriously.
they also have their own contemporary line which is always on sale but totally waste of store space and they should give up trying.

Remember when thrift shopping became hip, mainstream and ubiquitous to the point where it was mentioned in pop culture and mass media? Most recently, one can hear it referenced on the radio courtesy of Macklemore and his hit song, Thrift Shop. Thrift shopping has also became intertwined with the word vintage, which was widely misused.
A: I love your cardigan. Where did you get it?
B: It’s vintage. I found it in my mom’s closet.
A: Oh em gee. I love it.
B: I know, right? It’s so ferocious.
Listen ladies (and gents), vintage clothing is not clothing from a decade ago nor is it from a shoddy thrift store like St. Vincent De Paul (sorry, I do love you, but you are not vintage). Vintage clothing is technically any sort of clothing twenty five years old or older. It encapsulates a standard of high quality, style, design and aesthetic. Alright?
Anyhow, What Goes Around Comes Around (WGACA) is the perfect embodiment of a true vintage shop. These pieces are well maintained (clean), meticulously sewn and stitched (high quality) and also have an unwavering design (classic) that one can still wear today. You’ll find brands like Chanel, Ralph Lauren, Yves Saint Lauren, Levis, etc.
I found a few pieces of outerwear I absolutely fell in love with. A vintage Ralph Lauren flannel plaid wool coat. It fit like a glove, felt great, and was nothing I’ve ever owned or seen before, but priced at around $ 550, I retreated and put it back on the hanger. I was so in love with it, I attempted to take a picture of myself (i.e.: selfie) in the mirror, but the kind associate offered to snap a picture for me. I also stumbled upon a sturdy distressed, denim jacket (~$ 200) with holes in all the right places (get your mind of the gutter) and aged beautifully. Alas, I realized I don’t need another denim jacket and that my fascination with Brokeback Mountain is getting out of control. I also steered clear of their leather jackets because I have two too many already in my closet, but the leather available were gorgeous and patina aged beautifully.
Who shops at WGACA? The discerning shopper that wants an unique piece nobody else has. Aren’t you sick of being caught in the same H&M skirt as the hoards of other girls on the subway? I once stood next to a man-​child who wore the exact same Uniqlo flannel shirt as myself. We stood alongside one another in public shame for five stops. I swore I never would wear an item of clothing I just bought until at least one season had passed.
Come to WGACA if you want to invest in a gently used piece of clothing or accessory that will last you a lifetime. Of course this comes with a hefty price tag, but hey, who said fashion was cheap?

This is not your ordinary thrift store, what most people fail to understand is that most pieces found here are collectibles (Old tour T’s, US made selvedge denim, Carhartt overalls,…) and thus although very pricey not too overpriced.
The kind dark-​haired sales woman was very helpful and surprisingly knowledgeable in vintage Levi’s jeans. I left happy with a vintage jeans and jacket. A must see for vintage lovers visiting NYC!

If you’re looking for an old, ratty, yellow Harley Davidson t-​shirt for under $ 400, look no further.
Although the design of this shop is gorgeous, with little vignettes here/​there, its outrageously overpriced. And I think even they know it; how else to explain a markdown area for things 70% (seventy) off? My friend tried on a lackluster robe, originally $ 1,400, on the 70% rack, and it still seemed cray-​cray with the discount.
The staff is friendly and thin (one young lady made a note to inform us of her size zero bod), but ‘cmon, surely, SURELY, you have better things to do with your money. Help an animal shelter, or something.

Definitely overpriced stuff, but the store design and rehabed space is really fantastic. Worth a walk through just to appreciate the building.

This store has great deals on items that may look and feel new. The vintage stuff is out of this world and the vibe is hipster sophistication. I think I will keep coming back and hunt down the deals.
The name of the store is right on point, just like a bad relationship where things dont work out and you throw your lover to the dogs only to find out some one else loves him even more. What Goes around definetly comes around-​remember that and just keep shopping.

I found the perfect red dress here. It is the best fitting garment I own. It is PERFECT. It was a vintage dress from the 50’s, but in new condition.
I was also looking for Levi’s 501 shorts, and they have a massive collection there and I found a pair that fit nicely.
Some of the stuff is way overpriced, but they also have gorgeous pieces like the red dress I got.

I had only known What Goes Around from their house line of average shirts and jackets so I was surprised to find that the bulk of their store is given over to an impeccably curated and laughably expensive vintage operation. When I walked in a saleswoman was showing a clearly not rich enough couple a $ 3000 vintage Chanel bag, and even though everyone in earshot telegraphed that they had walked this earth for longer than a day and were therefore not biting she seemed unfazed and knowledgable.
As long as you divest yourself of any desire to buy anything this store is really cool. When I saw the 200+ dollar shirts I immediately set my credit card to stun and just browsed hard. It was cleansing. They have a pretty nice collection of shoes and boots, but I’m happy just to admire someone else’s shoes rather than actually walk that mile in them. I found the salespeople really friendly, maybe they’ve been taking the feedback to heart?

Great, great selection of items from vintage Chanel and Yves Saint Laurent but used items should not cost over $ 300, especially for a mildly worn belt.
What Goes Around Comes Around is a good vintage shop, not a thrift shop (only a small section with used, extra small «children» clothing for $ 10 and up), unless for those who think used items that cost an arm is within their price range. I wonder what makes their own brand of t-​shirt so great that it costs almost $ 60.
Very snobby salespeople, will glare at you but won’t give you a «hi» or a «bye».
