Warwick New York Hotel

We booked a stay at the Warwick from May 11 – 13, 2016. The first evening, I had the sensation of something crawling over my body as I slept. I woke up covered in itchy bites on my feet, legs, and arms — and those bites became itchy, swollen welts over the course of the day. We discussed this with the hotel manager, Joel Fabian, who confirmed that these were bedbug bites and had the room inspected. That inspection confirmed «the activity of bedbugs,» although he wouldn’t provide us a copy of the report beyond an email summary.
Mr. Fabian had initially promised a refund of the hotel stay, booked through HotelTonight. However, this is where things began to go astray.
Rather than simply reversing the charges, Mr. Fabian and the Warwick insisted that we first sign a waiver before he could refund the stay or even consider our expenses. When we read the waiver, it required us to indemnify the hotel and give up any right to compensation as a result of the bedbugs.
The fact that the hotel insisted that we sign the waiver before considering a refund or reimbursement raises doubts about the sincerity of their desire to deal fairly with the situation.
We refused to sign the waiver, and contacted HotelTonight, who refunded us the charge for the hotel stay. However, the bedbugs were still in our clothing and luggage — and the treatment of our car and lost clothing has become a significant expense as a result of a two night stay at the Warwick. In fact, we have incurred thousands of dollars of expenses as a result of a two-​night hotel stay at the Warwick — not just clothing ruined by the heat treatment needed to kill bedbugs and their eggs (delicate/​tailored clothing doesn’t always survive the process well), but the bedbugs spread to our car on the way home, and we have needed to tent the vehicle and treat it with insecticide.
The hotel has still not provided a copy of the inspection report nor have they made an overture of reimbursement.

LTD, Warwick International Hotels, Warwick Amusement Corp., et al their successors and assigns and/​or his, her, their heirs, executors, administrators, and also any and all other persons, associations or corporations, whether herein named or referred to or not, and who, together with the above named, may be jointly or severally liable to the undersigned, of and from any and all, and all manner of, actions and causes of actions, rights, suits, covenants, contracts, agreements, judgments, claims and demands whatsoever in law or equity, including claims for contribution, arising from and by reason of any and all KNOWN AND UNKNOWN, FORESEEN AND UNFORESEEN bodily and personal injuries or death, damage to property, and the consequences thereof which heretofore have been, and hereafter may be sustained by the undersigned and by any and all other persons, family members, associates, corporations whether herein named or referred to or not and especially from all liability arising out of the commercial occupancy at the Warwick NY Hotel specifically any alleged injury that may occur in room 602(premier room king) between the days of Wednesday May 11, 2016 to Friday May 13, 2016.
Further in consideration of the above reimbursement the UNDERSIGNED ALSO EXPRESSLY DECLARES AND AGREES:
1. That this release covers and includes all claims, several or otherwise, past, present or future, which can and may ever be asserted by any person or persons, as heirs or otherwise as the result of injuries or death and/​or damages as aforesaid or the effects or consequences thereof.
2. That this full and final release shall include all and any future claims, injuries, death and/​or damages not now known to any of the parties hereto but which may later develop or be discovered, including the effects or consequences thereof and including all causes and actions therefore;
3. It is further understood and agreed: That the parties hereby released admit to no liability to the undersigned or to anyone whomsoever.

Me and my old bud stayed at this place this past weekend. Very reasonably priced, the bed did not look the one I posted here, at first. The employees are great, they let us check in at 3 AM Friday morning and a late check out Sunday afternoon at 1PM. And the maid was real nice and wanted to clean our room for us after the first night. Fantastic!

I’m really torn in writing this review because the staff at this hotel was great, the room itself was good, but the bathroom!?! Are you kidding me?! It was the smallest bathroom that I have ever had. It was so small that every morning getting ready I hit my elbow, foot, or head. Don’t get me wrong overall I had a good experience, but you guys need to remodel some of the bathrooms. From what I heard my bathroom was a 1 off, but you really need to update the size. It was so bad I had to actually duck my head under the shelf to use the sink. I would stay at the hotel again, but not in that same room.

Hotel is fine enough. Nothing crazy but room smelled like cigarette smoke because of neighbor smoking cigarettes. Complained the next morning and they moved me to a new room, who’s neighbor smokes cigarettes! Obviously they just don’t care or they would say something. The halls reek of cigarette smoke, mgmt just turns a blind eye I suppose. I’m still recovering from all that smoke. So foul. If you like to smoke cigarettes definitely go here.

Ruuuuuuuude staff. They charged my card incorrectly and I ended up paying for the whole reservation instead of just incidentals although the guy at the desk did not inform me of this at check in. I called to figure it out with them and they told me they could not help. Spoke to a really rude woman. Awesome. Especially after all the $ I spent staying here. FRUSTRATING.

The Warwick was great! I really enjoyed my stay this passed weekend. Service was great, the employees at concierge quickly settled us in, and even upgraded our room last minute for whatever reason; I think they were out of rooms. We were excited to hear this but had no idea how much of an «upgrade» it really was. Our room was amazinggggg. We had a spacious dining and living area with a huge wrap around terrace. We also enjoyed the balcony in the master bedroom. The location of this hotel was spot on, the infamous Halal Guys are two blocks away (this was the first thing we smelled as soon as we got out of the cab) Times Square was a 5 minute walk from the hotel. The room was clean, the bathroom was huge and offered a stand up shower as well as a bathtub. I appreciated how quiet our stay was as well. All in All this we had a great stay at the Warwick and will be returning again.

I’m in the middle of a week long stay. Not sure if I should feel lucky or just ape sh/@$ upset as in the three days I’ve been here I found 3 cockroaches.
I didn’t want to move all my stuff in the first 2 «episodes» but I was told that they would check the room and spray it.
I came back and to my surprise it took less than 1 minute to find a new cockroach; I went downstairs to ask for a new room and I was told that they actually can’t spray the room while someone is staying there.
Learning that I was lied to makes things worse because if they have told me that they couldn’t spray the room I would have changed room this morning.

I stayed here with my boyfriend for a long weekend recently and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. My parents were staying at the Hilton across the street, and while we wanted to stay close, we definitely didn’t want to pay as much as they did. The Warwick is one of the nicer hotels I’ve stayed in, and it was super affordable for the area in New York.
We originally booked a regular Premier King room but due to a plumbing issue, one of the managers, Mike, upgraded us to a Premier Suite King room for free. It was just a minor issue with the faucet leaking, but they went above and beyond to make sure we were happy.
The staff is all super friendly, our room was clean and the bed was comfortable. We will definitely be staying here again!

Mid Price Midtown Hotel w average sized rooms, average comfort beds and above average service. Mini Bar, In-​Room climate control and in room Movies. Pay for Wifi. Randolph’s Resteraunt in the building. Fitness center available.

The Warwick was excellent! The service was impeccable and the room we were upgraded to was gorgeous! The location is excellent and the whole place was very clean and well kept. The manager Billy was kind enough to arrange a beautiful room with a walk out patio balcony which was just lovely. We did not eat in either of the hotel restaurants, but both seemed busy at all meal times. We can’t wait for our next stay!

Good location. close to Central Park and radio city music hall. Room was clean and spacious. Bathroom large and great shower. Would come back again

Had a great stay here last week. The valet and doormen along with the front desk are true professionals!
The room was spacious and very clean. Apparently there was a «water leak» on the floor above and maintenance had to inspect my room twice. The next morning, the bathroom smelled like a sewer, It was coming from the ceiling vent. Had to keep the fan on so the whole room didn’t smell.
That’s the only reason I’d give ⁴⁄₅ stars, without that incident I’d give ⁵⁄₅. It is a great hotel!

Really torn about this review. One star for a relatively quiet room. One star for price (Hotwire during the crazy Christmas season) and one star for the location, which is excellent. So overall a good value.
However, it is nothing to write home about. Clean, old, bathroom is TINY, water in the shower vacillates between Emergency Room hot to «please make it stop» cold. Staff is indifferent. Coffee in the mornings is putrid.
Would I stay again at the price, having saved $ 170 a night over competitors in the same area? Yes. Let’s face it. If you’re in NYC and spending a ton of time in your room, you’re doing it all wrong anyway.
NOTE: I did not find the degrees of wear some reviewers did. And the one time the tv was on it was perfectly fine.

We just stayed at the Warwick Hotel for my 30^th Birthday and it was fantastic from check in to check out. The staff was friendly and helpful with everything. I showed up with champaign and strawberries in my room for my birthday! We stayed on the 22^nd floor and had great views. The room was clean and spacious. I was impressed. We picked this hotel because we were looking for something local with a great location and was stylish all for a good price. It delivered. Highly recommend! Thank you Warwick for making my birthday week amazing!

I have stayed here on a number of occasions for work while in NYC. It is a great location not far from the investment banks of midtown while also being close to Central Park and various subway lines. I have to say that I am either spoiled or these some of the largest hotel rooms in NYC. The first time I stayed here, I was upgraded to a suit. This was a full suit with a living room/​dining room and a separate bedroom. The next time, there were no upgrades available, so I was put in a standard room which was massive. I stayed for the weekend with the wifey and daughter flying up for some time in the big apple. The room was large enough for a pack and play along with plenty of play space for our daughter. The only downside is the bathroom is rather small, although that seems to be par for the course in NYC.

What a disappointment. I will let the pictures speak for themselves. The room was run down and dirty. In some parts of the country we could have paid a months rent for what we paid to stay here 1 night. This wasn’t a problem for us when we booked– as we thought we would be staying in a beautiful room. But man were we wrong. Stay away.

Stayed there July 10^th I believe. Beautiful hotel and beautiful room but unfortunately I found a dirty tampon on the floor. Someone came up and took it away and told me that they were going to alert a manager so that they could come speak to me. No one ever came. At that point I felt very unsure about the cleanliness of my room.

My father has many wonderful qualities — flexibility not being one of them — which is why, even after a solid 7+ years spent scooting off to Chelsea to pay our respects to all galleries that have migrated downtown, he still insists on staying in Midtown. An odd duck, that man is.
Regardless, this is how I’ve come to find myself at the Warwick several times over the last few years — and yes, in the grand scheme of things it’s a lovely hotel — there are far worse places to end up — but this, I think is perhaps what fusses me — that for a basic room, it’s generally $ 450+/night, not a pittance — and yet, the customer service is pretty shit-​tastic, to the point where I feel less like a guest and more like an inconvenience… not even for being HM, just for like… being there. As in, when Sum got sick and needed a cup of ice to soothe his feverish forehead, they tried to charge him for it.
But first, the niceties — they renovated the rooms a few years ago and while the décor is still a bit… idk…corporate hotel for me, the beds are plush, sheets soft enough as not to chafe this sensitive skin, and nary a bedbug in sight — oh, and for a city hotel, the rooms are relatively large — though really this is besides the point as you don’t go to NY to chill in your room unless you’ve seriously missed the mark or have just hired yourself a very pricey escort.
Weak — in the year 2015, they change me for effing wifi — $ 9.95 per day for up to two devices. And wait. If I want to use the computer in the business center… it’s $ 0.35/min. Offended. Also — breakie at Mural’s, the resto in the lobby, is a gentleman’s B– at best — though, to be fair, they did excel in the two categories that matter, providing me w/​a cornucopia of cut fruit and enough nova lox to keep me feeling connected to my Chosen ancestors for dayssss — but the rest of the offerings are a bit meager (meh scrambled eggs, questionable looking meats/​cheeses, croissants I think would make a Frenchman weep, #basicbitch Raisin Bran) — for a hotel that tries to play up its classy side, it all leaves me with a hollow underwhelmed feeling, analogous to well… we’ll leave it there.
Prices vary — a double during touristy season is usually roughly $ ⁴⁵⁰⁄₅₀₀ a night and I think suites can run you $ 1000+ — effing absurd — I realize it’s New York… but honestly… no. Lezbereal, I’ve had better stays at hotels clocking in at a fraction of this price. I feel like the Warwick is now just resting on its laurels — it seems to have had its heyday in decades past — kind of like your traditionally hot high school cheerleader, if you will, but times they are a-​changing, and there are now too many other options in the surrounding area for me to find a faded bleach blonde ‘do and smudged crimson lips anything other than a sad reminder of what once was. Girl, bye.

The Warwick Hotel was everything I dreamed of and more.
People always warned me of the space and the cramped room sizes in NYC but that was not a problem at the Warwick. The hotel is about 500 sq feet and instead of queen sized beds, they have full sized beds.
The service was great and the hotel was really nice and elegant. I like the historic 1920s décor and another added bonus is that the Warwick is in the middle of everything fun and exciting about NYC.
The following didn’t bother me but I feel like people should know:
–The entrance doorway is one of those spin around doors rather than the regular doors so it takes a while to get in and out (you’ll have to wait your turn).
–Also there are only two elevators and they are small/​a bit slow.
Overall, great stay. Will definitely look to stay here again.

Location is the key word here. Also perhaps price. If you care about one and not the other then this place is for you. Because it’s located close to the heart of everything the price for the room is exorbitant. But then again my visit was on Christmas season which means every hotel in the city is borderline extortionate. I mean the amount of money that people are willing to pay to stay close to all the attractions is mind-​boggling. I met a couple from England and another from Australia and they said that even their hotels at their major cities during the holidays don’t run that much! I guess Christmas in the city is just a whole other experience, and you know what I completely agree.
Aside from the prime location of Warwick, it’s one of the most beautiful hotels I’ve been in. It’s clean, has a lot of character, and the the decoration is simply elegant. Customer service is top notch and the employees are more than knowledgeable about the surrounding area to give you all the tips to see and do. The rooms are quite spacious and modern and most importantly insulates the patron from the hustle and bustle outside. After exhausting yourself visiting all the sights nearby the last thing you want to hear is the beeping and loud sirens of the world around you. If you need further R and R head downstairs to their restaurant Murals On 54 or stop by Randolph’s Bar & Lounge. A heed of warning though be prepared to spend a HUGE amount of money, especially at Randolph’s, but at least you’ll feel like part of NYC’s elite.
As I’ve mentioned the hotel is at the heart of midtown. Times Square is within walking distance. Rockefeller Center and the famous tree is down the block. Radio City Music Hall is a stone’s throw away. The Theater District is dramatically close by. And all you shopaholics can get your cravings satiated with the high end stores that line 5^th Ave. I mean who doesn’t want a little Escada, Zegna, Pucci, or Fendi am I right?
