This restaurant is cute and has nice décor. Makes you feel like you are in Spain. The restaurant is dimly lit which is perfect for happy hours and date nights. The chorizo and marinated goat cheese were delicious.

I had a long horrible day at work and messed a pick me up. Upon entering the establishment I was greeted by Mike, who happen to show me an available seat by the bar. I happen to walk into a great conversation about wine. The staff was exceptionally friendly as well. I felt like I was at home with friends. As I sip on my amazing white sangria, I ordered the chorizo mussels that filled my taste buds. I recommend this place to anyone who wants a feel good place with great food, drinks and staff.

This place is great for a happy hour drink. $ 5 for wine or sangria is unbeatable.
However, I wouldn’t eat here again. The tapas are tiny (obviously), but the prices are high. We left without really being full but paid a fortune.
Otherwise cute place to grab a drink.

I had the bacon bacon bacon! And the calamari. If I could I would run them into my eyes to get them into the blood stream quicker. I mean the calamari tasted as if I’d have been hit in the face with a spicy sea. It was unbelievable

I’m big fan of wine bars. I was excited to try this Spanish spot and it did not disappoint.
Happy hour is a great time to go. And it goes till 8 so that a plus. Drinks get a little pricey after happy hour is over.
Quaint, cozy, great warm atmosphere. Reserve a table if you can. However the owner was very accomodating to our party of 2 even though we were walk-​ins on a busy night.
Food was good. Flatbreads and Marinated goat cheese were a solid A+. Then again goat cheese anything is A+…

What a quaint tapas place with a bar. Their happy hours are amazing. On weekends, it’s practically happy hour all day long. $ 5 sangria all day long.

We tried both the red and white sangrias. Both were pretty good and came in those glasses that make it look like an island drink. I liked the white one better, just because I find that white wine goes better with fruit and red wine more often competes with citrus flavors.
Albondigas ($ 10) — beef & pork meatballs w/​tomato & chili de arbol:
good juicy meatballs, comes with bread, but small portion
Chorizo ($ 10) — sauteed in white wine & garlic:
quite spicy, lots of flavor, with sauteed onions, and very thin slices of garlic, also came with bread
The bread in both of these dishes was slightly over-​baked, but I soaked it in the sauces and meat juices and it was delicious.
Patatas Bravas ($ 7) — roasted potatoes in spicy tomato sauce:
Potatoes were decent and cooked well.
Sauteed Calamari ($ 12) with Dry Chorizo:
This was the best dish and might be one of the most memorable tapas dishes I have ever had. Calamari toughens up easily, but the calamari here was so tender. No rubbery texture whatsoever. The legs were also tender, but with a little more of a meaty texture. The flavor of the calamari was very mild, but the cured chorizo was very salty, almost too salty. No matter, it was so good. I need to figure out how to make calamari like this.
You can make a reservation on Opentable, but there weren’t many people when we were here on a Sunday evening. The service was not bad, but felt a little bit awkward. The wait staff could try smiling.
One funny thing to note — There is a large full-​length mirror in the bathroom with a sign that says ‘No Selfies.’ So naturally, Mr. Joy took a selfie in the bathroom.
They were playing the Superbowl on the television, so that was an unexpected bonus. It was actually kind of nice that there weren’t a lot of people, so we didn’t have to deal with the yells and grunts of a typical frat boy crowd. We got to enjoy good food and affordable drinks in a very low-​key atmosphere.

I don’t think the food is that great. But the Service is the worst!
I had to put my coat behind my chair. The servers and runners went back and forth behind me and dropped my coat 7 times without looking back or helping me pick up my coat or even apologize. The worst part was, when the bill came, I noticed that they charged us for 6 drinks when we only had 5 drinks. I let our server know, and she didn’t even say sorry. She just said «I’ll get you a new check». WOWW… will never ever coming back!!!

I enjoy coming here because the food tastes good and I love to share it with my friends. In addition the Bartenders make great mix drinks. I’ve eaten here several times and I’ve always found my self sapping up the sauces with the sliced baguettes. More bread please! Oh and when the night was over and we waited for the waitress to bring back the bill, it didn’t feel like a hostage situation=)

Pretty good tapas bar. Croquetas were good and the almond salad was awesome. Tortilla Espanola was ok, not enough potato for my taste. Crema Catalans was great. I would definitely recommend this place.

We were so lucky this lovely place was open for brunch during the first 2016 blizzard!!! Staff were friendly and personable. Food was of course fresh and delicious! I had the short rib with potatoes (forget the menu name). Cooked to perfection-​tender, juicy, and filling! Just what we needed after a long walk and sledding at the park. We will be back on our next visit to NYC!

HAPPY HOUR UNTIL 8pm — BEST! We all go after work. The tapas is also really good. We always enjoy coming. MAKE SURE to make a reservation!

One of my friends recommended this happy hour place to check out. We ordered a bunch of tapas plates to share for the 4 of us. We had the wings, short rib, tosta con boquerones, Brussel sprouts, chorizo, patatas bravas, and flatbread. Everything was pretty good and reasonably priced.
Great happy hour place if you want a quieter atmosphere.

Came here with co-​workers and alums from my college. One of them loves wine and lives nearby so she ended up ordering everything for us (thank God). She specified and the waiter was able to attend to everyone’s dietary needs.
I think I got a sangria and then the tapas starting flowing in. It was SO GOOD. There was this flatbread with cheese and fig (?) on it that I dream about. and this other cheese option and meat. and the olives.yum. I forgot everything we had but seriously TRY THIS OUT.
¹⁰⁄₁₀ would go there again.

Super cute place I’ve been meaning to try. My friend and I stopped in here for dinner in late October (I’m a little behind with my Unilocal reviews!) — we sat outside as it was a gorgeous night. The only downside being that the light bulb above our heads was burned out so we had a bit of difficulty reading the menu. Votives would have been super handy.
But I digress…
Delicious tapas and wine across the board. My friend and I split the wings, chorizo mozzarella tomato flatbread and goat cheese salad and I sampled a few of the red wines.
We relocated inside after our meal to a corner booth and our waitress Tallin was super attentive throughout the night so I’d like to give a special shout out to her as I know she was juggling a bunch of tables.
We look forward to returning to sample more of the dishes!

Enjoyed drinks and tapas with some friends here. Good happy hour specials on wine and tasty tapas.

This place has an excellent happy hour special. Came here with my friend and didn’t leave for hours. Six glasses of wine each (most at $ 5 each) — and quite a few delicious tapas places later — and we were having ourselves a ball. When all was said and done, we were looking at a $ 75 bill.
$ 120 dollars for 12 glasses of wine, and what must have been five or six tapas plates (we lost count somewhere around drink #4)!? I can’t think of a better deal. Who said you can’t turn up on a Tuesday?
The dates and pan con tomate are must haves. VinoTapa may be inexpensive, but don’t think that means they skimp on the quality. Everything was great. Will definitely be heading back.

Excellent Happy Hour
Thanks Unilocalers for a great neighborhood suggestion! In search of a place to go with a friend walking distance from NYU came across VinoTapa online. Bookmarked it as an option and then suggested to my friend that we give it a try.
We opted to share the short rib brunch special which was generous in size, well balanced and filling. The short rib was tender, cooked perfectly, and full of flavor. Their generously sized happy hour sangria was pretty good. Not filled with fruit like many other sangrias, and not overly sweet. My friend loved the bloody mary, which came highly recommended by our waitress, and we both had a great time.
Hard woods, high tables, a bar and cozy benches make the atmosphere comfortable.

Came here for a date on a Sunday night. Love that they had happy hour till 8 everyday. Ordered the red sangria, which was really good. The ambiance is perfect for a date, low lighting but not too low, good place to converse.
Had 4 plates of tapas between us. Calamari wasnt fried but sooo good. The brussels sprouts are a must. The goat cheese with honey is delectable, just the right amount of sweetness. The portions were perfect, and we couldn’t have eaten another bite. Prices are a little high for tapas.
Def would recommend for a tapas place.

I’ve been here a few times and it’s definitely a great little spot in the Murray Hill area. They have a lot of great wine and tapas options, and also have a great happy hour with $ 5 glasses of wine. I also tried some of the tapas once when I was here. The Brussels Sprouts were very tasty, as was the goat cheese bruschetta type dish that I got.
This is overall a great spot for a drink in the Murray Hill area.

I had a great time here with a group of 12+, but here’s what happened:
We made reservations several hours earlier for indoor seating, but arrived a few minutes late and our table was swiftly given away. (It was kind of prime time on a Saturday night.) They said they could seat our group outdoors (it was a little chilly), and to make up for it, give us a round of free shots. Sure, why not?
The manager was very kind and helpful, and suggested the Chef’s Tasting menu for $ 24/​pp which we all agreed was the easiest to do. He also said it was plenty of food. The food was enjoyable, but most of my group agreed that it wasn’t filling for them and they thought there should’ve been more. If I come back, I would definitely order off their regular menu and pick which tapas dishes to order.
I just love shishito peppers though and the goat cheese. Those two dishes are a must. They raved about the potatoes, but I didn’t think they were all that special. Neither were the chorizos. Nothing was bad though.
Prices are really good/​cheap for the city though and I love the vibe of the place. The only reason I gave 3 instead of 4 stars is because I think we could’ve ordered more with $ 24pp and 12+ people. I’d be willing to come back though, in a smaller group. I do give props for seating all of us, but don’t give away tables so fast that were reserved! (I called ahead to even say I was running 15 minutes late and they said OK).

Came here with a girl friend to check out the happy hour deals, and we loved the place! I got a cheese/​meat platter and she got the chorizo flatbread. Our waitress gave great recommendations for which cheeses to get, and it came with some yummy jam.
Great little wine bar and tapas place to go with friends — a little noisy for a date night, but I’ll definitely come back for some wine/​sangria and cheese!

I’m so happy my friend discovered this place.
I went to this place last night with my friend. It was a Thursday night after a long day, so wine and cheese sounded like the best thing ever… and it was. The atmosphere was romantic and classy. We kept saying, it would have been the perfect date spot if it wasn’t so loud.
As for the food, we were so excited we made it to their $ 5 wine and sangria happy hour. I ordered the chorizo flatbread while she kept it classic and ordered a meat and cheese platter — Both which were perfect wine pairings.
I’m excited to have another ladies night here. I loved the ambiance, the flavorful food, and of course, wonderful happy hour specials that would encourage a second glass. The service was even very friendly and accommodating. The place’s only downfall really was the noise. It was annoying to talk over everyone else, but at least the wine made up for all of that.

I was expecting something very different for they called themselves a tapas and wine bar; however, i was totally disappointed as soon as I walked inside. The inside displays the atrocity that’s too typical in Kips Bay. It was just a bar with really LOUD music (when it was only 30% full) with a huge TV screen. Fortunately they have outdoor seatings where we grabbed a table. The menu had some typical tapas dishes and some more interesting dishes. We ordered several and all was honestly delicious. Their wine list is decent, and their pour is «healthy.» The two ladies working that night were not only friendly but also efficient and helpful.
We did enjoy everything we had, but the price is much higher than other tapas places we go. We’d think hard before going back, and it would have to be in summer when we can sit outside on E 31^st street that is much quieter and more pleasant than the inside.

Excellent tapas /​charcuterie :) :) :) Great interior and outdoor setting! Always well air conditioned, clean (bathroom included– although 1 person bathroom only). And, the happy hour has amazing wine and beer choices, available daily!
I’ve been here several times, first to watch a sports game on a Sunday and enjoy the 5−8pm happy hour. They were very accommodating with seating, and waitresses were timely with food & drink.
The food is well priced and exquisite: loved the goat cheese tapas, brussel sprouts tapas, flatbreads, and really enjoy their meats & cheese plates: $ 5 for one, $ 14 for 3, $ 21 for 5 choices. All of the meats are delicious, and they offer very unique cheeses! To top it off, their bread is perfectly toasted and crispy, it goes well with the charcuterie and goat cheese tapas.

Vino Tapa is hands-​down one of the best little places in Murray Hill. We were bummed when Vino 313 closed but ecstatic that Vino Tapa is in its place. Vino Tapa is like Vino 313 with a makeover. The service is great, ambiance wonderful, and food and wine are awesome.
Happy Hour is 5−8pm everyday, including Saturday and Sunday, and includes a healthy selection of both red and white wines as well as red and white sangria (which are both super delicious). For $ 5/​glass, you can’t complain. Plus, you can spend a little bit more ($ 6 or $ 7), you can get a pretty delicious glass of wine. And for even more, they have a huge selection of wine by the bottle or glass.
Definitely grab a table outside! The ambiance is relatively quiet on 31^st St. with beautiful trees and flowers around. The service is exceptional. The waiters are really nice and very attentive.
The cheese and meat platters are great, but I definitely recommend some of the food. The flat bread pizzas are delicious, especially the honey and fig flat bread. Speaking of figs, if you like figs, try the figs with bacon and goat cheese — wow! If you’re feeling the need to be a little healthier, try the cauliflower with nuts or the arugula salad with hazelnuts — Yum and YUM.

Love the space, service, food and happy hour special!
The special is $ 5 drinks every day from 5PM-​8PM, select beers and sangria and I believe well-​cocktails as well.
HIGHLY Recommend:
Beef Short Rib $ 19 — You just have to get this. You will not regret. The meat is tender and seasoned to perfection. *tip* ask for bread to soak up the sauce

Looking for a brunch place in Murray Hill can be a bit of a challenge, but after deciding not to wait the estimated hour at Penelope, we hit this place up, only a few blocks away. When we walked up, at about 11:45am on a Saturday, the front windows were open and the front sidewalk was full of empty tables and chairs, expect for four people. We walked up, and those four people actually greeted us; it seems like the staff was just hanging out outside while the brunch service began. We chose a seat inside, next to a window, and for the next hour, we were the only 2 people in the restaurant.
We were told by our waitress that brunch had just started a few weeks ago, and the menu was small, but had a little bit of everything as you would expect for brunch. We opted for «The Waffle,» which was a waffle topped with syrup, three slices of bacon, and 2 sunny side up eggs, and the short ribs with eggs and homefries.
The waffle was ok: a pretty basic breakfast entrée, and the bacon and eggs were cooked well. The waffle was a bit flat, and they poured the syrup on for you already, so it was a big soggy upon arrival. The short rib was much better with a big portion of short rib, one poached eggs, and lots of homefries mixed with peppers and onions.
We also ordered two glasses of red sangria ($ 5 during brunch) which was tasty and potent, but lacked fruit in the glass. Coffee was also good, but served in small, kinda awkward tea cups.
Overall, a cute restaurant that’s probably still figuring out the kinks for brunch. Without a wait, and a great space with lots of natural light and seating, I would definitely come back for happy hour (or brunch, if I was in the need for a quick bite).
