service was somewhat sluggish for a Tuesday afternoon. i walked and decided to sit at counter area. took about 8 minutes to get acknowledged. Waiter took my order and shortly my burger with fries and soda came out. I like this place but it seems like service is somewhat inconsistent. let me just add that my club soda with extra lemons came out and i was not able to get a straw as the waiter never came back to check on me. not the level of service i would expect from them.

It’s breakfast. It’s hard to screw up breakfast. They didn’t. Friendly staff. Quick service. Had the egg, bacon and cheese sandwich. I should’ve asked for my roll top be toasted. Next time.

This is a very small, compact diner — but if you’re in this neighborhood and looking for a great diner breakfast, check it out. There’s a row of narrow booths that seat 2, and then the counter. I recommend the sardine platter — exactly as described. Omelettes are good, too, quite large. Coffee is excellent for a diner. Yes, it’s probably the most expensive diner breakfast I’ve ever purchased, but do you know what neighborhood you’re in? Still, a better deal than eating, say, in your hotel’s restaurant. Lots of local people seem to like the place. My experience was that the service was highly expeditious. Waiter was attentive throughout the meal. Note that they only take cash.

The pancakes and orange juice was good, but overpriced, even for New York. The staff was friendly and attentive, but I felt extremely rushed and couldn’t relax

One of the best in the neighborhood. They open early and closed late. People are friendly.

Not a bad spot. Stopped in for a coffee this past week with a buddy. Service was fine. They only take cash and there is no restroom. Guy who worked there told someone to go across the street to Barney’s.

Really not a great place. It is tiny, and there is no restroom. Rude service. The middle-aged man, probably an owner or a manager, was literally mocking me as I was placing an order. The only reason I decided not to confront him was that I came with a friend who was going through a difficult phase, and so it was not a good time to start an argument. Not that any time is good for that… But it is ridiculous that the owner would think he can behave like that. Go work on your huge ego, man. The food was not great, the coffee just terrible. Definitely would NOT be back.

My review is based on service. To be honest I came here to buy a homeless man dinner. I have heard that this place is somewhat of a institution in NYC. So when I ran into this man who wanted money. I offered to go down the block and get him a good diner style meal and some coffee. The inside is quite small. They have old school bar style seating and a few tables in the back. It was cramped. The staff was great. I was at the door and I couldn’t walk back to the counter to place my order because there were to many people waiting for there food for take out(this place is small). The 2 staff members came and took my order through all of the people. There were 2 girls my age that were eating and started talking to me. The atmosphere was very relaxed and open. They actually asked if I wanted to join them. I told them why I was here and they were surprised. When I say the place is old school and chill, it really is. It’s solid good food that will cost $ 20 for 2 people. I will be back to this place. I do recommend coming here if you want a old school meal. Just like it was 30 years ago. The people are friendly. Just good vibes all around.

Nastiest manager in New York. Kicked my friend and myself out, because they needed to turn tables quickly. Exact words: «You ate, now leave. No time for blah-blah-blah, we need a table».

It was what I was looking for– something quick and accommodating. I ordered a croissant bacon egg and cheese. It wasn’t the best and a bit on the cooler side, but for being in a rush I didn’t mind. Service is very attentive and friendly. Bill came to $ 14 for a cappuccino and egg sandwich.

Really small old fashioned diner. The path between the booths and counter is narrow. I was bumped throughout my meal. The manager doesn’t help because he passed back and forth barking orders to his help. I saw customers walk in and then turn around and leave. Some customers the manager/owner knew. One customer asked to use the restroom. Manger said its across the street in Barney’s! They have a lot of delivery and take out. It was overpriced. Food was the way I like it though. I prefer to add my own seasoning. Another down side for me is no sweet potato fries! I’ll have to give it some thought before I return.

The place is more of a diner than a coffee shop. The food looks great. They do make a good hot chocolate and the cookies are decent. The service is fast and efficient. Not the friendliest place I’ve been but then again we were in NYC and all the help there seems to all speak Spanish so it might just be a cultural thing.

Good little place to grab a good breakfast/lunch. My sister really enjoyed her Everything bagel with bacon, egg, and cheese — I had a bite and can verify that it was delicious! There is not a lot of room to sit, though, and the staff definitely wants you to eat quickly(which is common in NYC, but still). TIPS: 1) It’s very tiny and I wouldn’t bring more than one other person with you if you’re planning on sitting down 2) CASHONLY 3) Stick to the basics when ordering! Order things like bagels, pancakes, french toast, eggs benedict, etc. if you want to be 100% happy — they do those the best… other, unusual things not so much.

This place was good, very crowded but service was quick! Only thing I didn’t like was leaving and smelling like fried oil. The roast beef sandwich was a bit heavy on meat and dry on the bread, couldn’t finish the sandwich for this reason. The coleslaw was good. Would return but would not order the same thing

Very good classic diner. All the servers are very pleasant and the food is tasty. What’s great about this place is that the menu is one page. Being from a diner city like Worcester, MA I really appreciate this. Most NYC diners have menus that are twenty pages with crazy entrees like shrimp omelettes. It’s best to keep it simple. I will be back!

When I lived in this neighborhood, you could have found me on one of their throwback counter stools at least once per week. I’ll never get sick of these greasy spoons that serve as a glimpse into the New York of yesteryear that’s slowly fading away. I’m not a product of the ‘50s or ‘60s, but when I’m here, it feels like I am(minus the Taylor Swift being played over the radio). It’s a diner with the typical diner bells and whistles. Burnt coffee, eggs, pancakes, sandwiches, et al. Nothing here will surprise you. But you’ll feel great eating it of you admire nostalgia. It’s also quite close to Central Park and serves as a nice post game meal for any romp through.

Took a chance on this spot on a frigid winter day after some sledding in Central Park. As soon as we walked in I knew it was the right decision. It’s a classic NY diner/deli, with lots of counter seating, an open kitchen, and all the classics you could want on the menu. Items like the grilled cheese, egg sandwich, and french fries are sure to be done well. It’s fun to watch the guys at the grill as they’re true artistes when it comes to their spatula skills. They also have an impressive dessert case that I’d love to dive into sometime. Two downsides about this place: it’s very tiny and narrow, so not good for groups. Also, they only take cash so make sure to come prepared!

Horrible. Pas de service, considéré comme des vaches à lait, horriblement couteux si on considère la qualité et la quantité. Cheap au possible avec une qualité industrielle même pas digne des US.

Sehr leckeres Essen, jedoch in Imbiss-Athmosphäre. Man wird hier schnell und zu moderaten Preisen bedient.
