I got a groupon for a Brazilian wax here. Not only was it the most painful waxing i’ve ever experienced — she ripped the wax off so fast without pulling my skin in the other direction — but I got home and my legs and bikini area are COVERED in red bumps because of how quickly and loosely she pulled the wax strips off. I was in and out of there in 15 minutes, the usual amount of time it takes to get a good eyebrow wax! There are also still patches of hair. Would not recommend going here for waxing services.

Got a Groupon for $ 49 for «natural lash extensions» When I walked in, I waited for front desk girl to stop playing with her phone to acknowledge me. No greeting, no hello. I was brought all the way to the back & again the young girl was on her phone. She took over an hour but I like my lashes. There was no explanation of what she was doing. But I asked all my questions as I never had lash extensions before. She answered all my questions. Not friendly but not rude either. I paid my $ 4 tax in cash& tipped $ 10…
I asked how much for lashes withough Groupon. She said $ 125! For that price, I would want coffee, smiles& much better service!!! But thanks to Groupon, I got a good deal for 90 lashes on each eye;)

DO NOT GO THERE HORRIBLE SERVICE, my hair was so long and healthy i went there for consolation about doing ombré balayge the hair stylist Asil told me it won’t be any problem he will do the color i wanted (which is chocolate brown with some chestnut tone balayge on the bottom) he told me it would be a discount for new member so it would be 220 instead of 250 so i went and he gave me three colors i didn’t even want blonde dirty blonde and caramel, plus my hair was burnt and he started from my roots not from the middle like i ASKED him, and he took it upon himself to start cutting my hair, when i told him i don’t want it cut. I told him this wasn’t the color i asked for he like no it actually darker then what you asked I’m showed him the picture he said i could only use a toner i decided not to even let him touch my hair again thats how bad the experience. and i ended up paying 272 dollars for something i didn’t even want!!!

I never write reviews but I love Asil he is amazing at what he does and truly cares about his customer. I went in for a hair cut and he listened to what I wanted but also told me what he thought was best and I completely trust him! I can’t wait to go back to get a balayage from him. The salon is clean, nice and everyone is friendly. I highly recommend Asil he’s so effortless !

First, I had an appt on a Thurs at 10a the woman showed up ½ hr late (I was her 1^st appt) making me late for the rest of my day and no offer of a discount for keeping me waiting These are supposed to last 6 – 8 weeks, think again after the 1^st day a few were already falling out. by the end of the week almost all were gone. I had followed her directions not to get them wet for 24 hr and no oil based makeup remover, but still they were gone. I tried this place 1 other time for a manicure and that too was not good. I will never go back to this place again!

Murat gave me an amazing balayage treatment to my hair. He was so professional and gave me exactly what I was looking for. He took my very dark hair and created a masterpiece. I had the best experience here. I was treated rudely at another salon the day before I found Val El Salon and Murat and they treated me wonderfully and made the whole process fun. I love my hair!

I wrote a review a couple months back after getting a Keratin treatment here with Asil. And how much I like this salon. I now only ever go to Asil to get my hair done. After having my hair ruined at another salon, Asil fixed it, not only restoring the color and giving me a perfect cut, but leaving my hair feeling silky and soft, and it maintained the smooth texture long after my appointment. He restored the health of my hair and made it look beautiful. I always walk out of the salon feeling so confident!
While my color lasts a long time, I like to change my hair up quite a bit. I have gotten more subtle color as well as bolder balayage, and I got bangs again for the first time in years and I love them! At other places I have felt I am not always listened to, but here I feel like they always achieve what i am looking for and steer me in the right direction when I am not sure. Asil is incredibly well educated in color and cut and really understands how to make hair not only look great but feel great too.
The salon itself is clean and the welcoming and everyone who works there is so nice. I cannot say enough good things about this place. They will really work with you to make sure you are happy with the result!
I would recommend this place to anyone, and especially Asil. :)

I am a new mother and I work with kids, and after more than a year of not getting a massage and almost half a year of no waxing or mani-​pedi (embarrassing!!), I decided to do it all in one swoop. My tired back and cramping neck muscles needed a break. I am a nursery school teacher with limited funds, so I went on Groupon to see if there was anything near my area that would allow for a few hours of pampering. I found some great deals on a hot stone massage, spa mani-​pedi, and Brazillian at Val El, and booked an appointment for the next day. I want to say this: if you expect an aromatherapy-​smelling, Enya-​playing, candlelit salon, this isn’t it. But this is one terrific place. Not only was I taken care of in the most caring, professional, and mindful way, but I have to say that some of the services were the best I’ve had (and I’ve been to many spas in my time). During Joanna’s hot stone massage, I transcended space and time. It was an out-​of-​body experience, and after she was done, I felt like my previously banged up self had suddenly reincarnated into a flower. I felt rejuvenated and alive! Alla’s Brazillian wax was super quick and absolutely PAINLESS! Yes, yes. You read correctly: painless. I haven’t had a wax since July, and what should have been a lumberjack cutting through a thick forest turned into 15 minutes of a very comfortable experience with a pleasant conversation covering Ukrainian and Russian politics. Alla also gave me a manicure, and I loved it. I was heading to an event after, and Galina gave me a quick updo that received compliments. I can’t wait to go back next week for a color and mani-​pedi. Thank you, ladies! Terrific staff! I am so pleased to have found you!

Had the absolute BEST experience here. I had wanted a bit of a change with my color. I am growing out my hair from a drastic long bob cut over the summer and skimmed Pinterest for something new. Found balayage highlights and looked on groupon and found this place.
Had a brief consultation with my stylist and he steered me in the right direction that would work with my hair based on my color, etc. he was totally honest (I would have had a huge «Pinterest fail» if I had gone anywhere else based on an unrealistic pic I chose) and kept me in the know of what he was doing the ENTIRE time which I really, really appreciate when it comes to color.
The salon is clean, everyone is so professional, friendly, and kind. And the best part? I have had ENDLESS compliments on my color since I got it done. Strangers, friends, etc.
GROUPON: JUST A HEADS UP when you’re tipping your stylist remember you’re getting a 200 dollar service for 80 bucks if you get this deal make sure you tip on the work not the groupon deal. As an actor who bartends on the side and pays rent off tips in reminding DO NOT rip off your amazing stylists etc! Because here the result is SO worth it!

I was so excited to finally get my hair done by the greatest Asil. He is such an amazing hairstylist. To have someone do what he does effortlessly is hard to find. When I went to him, I didn’t just do a regular basic haircut/​color. I got a blue/​grey hair job.
Not only did he take his time and make sure I was comfortable the hair style came out beautiful. I have never thought I would be able to pull off blue hair. But he made it work. He has magically hands. Hahaha. I love him, he is amazing, and like he says you never put a price on making your hair healthy and beautiful. He makes you feel beautiful and you leave content. Thank you Asil for the amazing job that you do. I now know who I will go to for my haircuts and hair dyes, etc…
I always went to Dominicans to get my hair done and by women, but not anymore. Asil you are awesome ! Keep creating these great styles and colors for all of us.

Really fantastic experience with this salon. Went in wanting a balayage but had some great advice from stylist Asil and decided on a single process short cut. My hair hasn’t looked this good in years. Definitely my new salon!

Got a a deal off groups for a Brazilian with Yaffa !!
Yaffa was amazing, I was about 45 minutes early to my appointment and she took care of me earlier! She shares with me her breathing technique and even though I’ve waxed before I’m pretty much use to it her technique took my mind off the waxing a bit.
However I do prefer the hard wax over waxing with strips, and that’s what they do here wax with strips, if your skin is a little sensitive like mine, I would not recommend this place as the strips irritate the skin a bit easier !
Also at the register I was asked to pay $ 2.50 as that was the «Tax» the group on said nothing about it so it felt like a lie honestly, but it gave me a chance to tip the Lovely Yaffa on her quick and clean service

I was originally wary of coming to this spot for a few reasons. 1. I have never gone to a non-​Asian salon, as I have thick, coarse Asian hair. 2. I didn’t get a recommendation from anyone about this salon, so I was going in blind. 3. The mixed reviews on Unilocal.
I booked an early appointment on lifebooker the day before, so I could get out during the day. I came in and was greeted by the receptionist who had a really effervescent personality. It was 9am and I was running off of very little sleep, but she was extremely friendly regardless. I showed her my lifebooker deal and she happily got everything settled for me. She asked me if I wanted anything and got me a coffee. Something that I noticed that was absolutely outstanding about her was that there seemed to be a lot of repeat customers and she had such a friendly banter with a lot of them and spoke to many of them by first name. Really outstanding on her part.
Anyways, onto what I came to the salon for. Rather than doing a brown or blonde balayage, I wanted to do a grey blue balayage. Knowing that this was something a little different and unsure if they could do something like this, I came prepared with some pictures. The stylist said he could do it and so we went ahead. I asked to cut about 2 inches and add layers, as well. A little over 3 hours later, I couldn’t be any happier. I work in the financial industry, so I was afraid that it might be overly done, but I really liked that the color was subtle and flattering.
A few days later and I’m still loving my new hair. I would have gladly paid $ 300 for my balayage and cut. Both the cut and coloring are so complementary to each other that I feel like I really got a good deal out of lifebooker and this salon.

10 mins for a somewhat painless and super quick Brazilian wax! I must admit I was hesitant based upon the other reviews left but I couldn’t resist the Groupon 3 for $ 59.
My appointment was scheduled for 4:15pm, I was seen at 4:18pm and was dressed and walking out at 4:33! I have never had a wax so quick and somewhat less painful than others.
I am so happy I choose to take a chance. I will definitely be back. I highly recommend Alla, she was awesome!

I just had the Cezanne Keratin treatment done by Moshe. He is absolutely great,
very knowledgeable and passionate about his craft. My hair looks healthier, shinier and straight, all the frizz is gone. I’ll certainly go back.

I bought a groupon for manicure and pedicure. I do agree with the other reviews that you might feel a little bit awkward service attitude, when booking for appointment and when received at the front desk, when served. It’s not saying that they are rude or anything but maybe it’s their style? I might be doing too much thinking in others’ shoes.
Anyhow, ala (hopefully I spelled it right) did my manicure and pedicure. I think the spa is great, I mean you can’t expect too much if you are only paying for 30 bucks and expect a 100 dollars spa experience. Although the msrp is 99, but we all know that a groupon is cheap for a reason. The spa, as other reviewers mentioned, is a small tub of hot water, followed with polish, little massage and pedicure. The manicure includes a double dip mask, lotion, and nail polish. Overall I like what they did, the nails look much better than I did by myself and the experience is relaxed. The one star is taken off for the something missing as other reviews point out, the service means to be pampering and customers do want to talk and communicate and at least feel to be valued. I understand the staff might be too tired doing business with hands and feet all day long, but customers will be affected by the «rudeness» or «cold faces» although they are not meant by purpose.
I will recommend people at least give it a try and see if it’s a for for you. Will come back.

So initially my review for this place would have been horrendous. My first time there I was waiting an hour to get my keratin done and then the guy who did my keratin didn’t do a good job at all. I’ve gotten keratin for about 8 years and cezzane specifically 2 times before. And my hair was already frizzing out a few days later. HOWEVER, I called about 5 days later explaining what happened and they allowed me to come back and get it redone for free. I went in on a Sunday with Moshe. Moshe is the BEST! He was so sweet and attentive and my hair has never looked better. Sometimes you just have a bad hair experience but the fact that they fixed it no questions asked and didn’t rush it and really took their time was sooo appreciated! I will absolutely come back! Thank you!

I admit I was a little apprehensive when I made my appointment because of all the negative reviews, but I already bought a lifebooker voucher for a spa mani-​pedi so I braced myself for a less-​than-​ideal experience. I was pleasantly surprised!
The place is clean and well-​lit, on a holiday weekend, there were not alot of people in the salon. I can imagine it would get crowded on a regular day, as they only have two mani and pedi stations. My technician Angela (I think that was her name) was very nice and sweet. She was efficient but not rushing which I appreciated.
I am removing one star because the quality of the actual manicure could be better, the cleaning of the cuticle is not as tidy as it should have been, and there is already a small chip in one nail which shouldn’t have happened was I’ve been very careful, and had countless manicures before so I know what to do to protect my nails.
If there is another good deal, I may go for it again but there is nothing special that would make me a regular.

in search of a stylist who was offering balayage. Murat did my hair with some help from Ed, the senior stylist. He did a fantastic job and I would recommend him for this sort of hairstyle. The salon as very clean and they were playing good music. I came early for my appointment and was attended to right away.
