Union Square Lounge

I normally don’t go out, but this place is a very nice little gem in Union Square (where in my opinion there’s not a lot of great places to go out to lounge). The fireplace was a nice touch and the place was very clean.

Came here for a mid day cocktail with a friend after a long day of shopping. Relaxed atmosphere. Warm nuts at the bar and overpriced drinks. Didn’t have any of the food but it looked good.

CREME DE LA FEMME WEDNESDAY NIGHTS… one of my absolute favorite Girl Parties in the city! Hot women, sexy atmosphere, great hostess (MAGGIE C.), and smokin’ bartenders!
This party is NOT to be missed

My friends and I went here last night as guests of the DJ. It’s basically one small, dark room with a fireplace, and one bar. The staff was really nice, escorting us to a table in the middle right away.
Food: We ordered the chicken quesadilla with was $ 10 for five pieces. I thought it was delicious, and the herbed fries were amazing I couldn’t get enough.
We ordered a couple pitchers of sangria and each pitcher was $ 12 for a 20oz pitcher, but it did not taste like sangria at all, and didn’t even make a dent in my sobriety
I liked the food and the prices were reasonable, drinks on the menu were typical 10 – 12 each but we didn’t try them, save for the sangria.
Definitely not my type of crowd, granted we were there from 830‑1030, and the crowd was mostly older people just sitting. The music was bumpin courtesy of our DJ friend, but no one was dancing except these ghetto fat girls who clearly had too much to drink at only 8pm.
We were bored by 915 but decided to stay a little longer to support our friend.
Although the staff was super nice, it just wasn’t my scene, and if I ever came back, it would be to pig out on those heavenly fries.

On top of placing all tops of music you will find all types of women at this stop… Which is really nice cause I love them all.

Eden, I don’t know what Madonna-Lil’wayne ghost that went to your DJ but the music tonight was beyond terrible. The premise was packed yet only a handful were dancing for a brief moment, why? because the DJ sucks.
The only good thing from this place is there’s no cover… and that’s just about it really. Will I go back? Probably, if they can come up with better music.

I went once and I might go back a few more times but, honestly as a gay femme woman I was so unimpressed.
I have upscale taste and dress to impress but, I don’t look like a hooker nor do I want to be around women that look and act like hookers. I love a good pair of heals but, I don’t want them 18 inches high and metallic.
I prefer a more laid back and person bar like Cubby or Cattyshack. I am also not attracted to femme women so it put a damper on my experience as well.
Plus, the drinks were overpriced and frankly not that great. Word of advice: get drunk before and than go.

Eden @ Union Square Lounge is an always packed, pretty-​much-​femme, girl party. I have predominately always had a good time with friends when i’ve gone.
There is no-​cover to get in, which is pretty damn cool. And the lighting can make any flaw unnoticeable. Just be careful talking to chicks who seem flawless, cause they will look slightly different in normal lighting.

Eden, for those of you who don’t know, is THE BEST weekly women’s (and by women’s I mean lesbian) party in the city. Just ask NY Mag, they thought so too. The promoter Maggie is super sweet as are her friends.
Now for the reviewing…
First off, no cover, which rocks my imaginary socks off. Most importantly though, the women are very very attractive. Mostly high femme very glossy lesbians. If you don’t think that there are lesbians that resemble the women on the L word you are mistaken. They DO exist, unlike the tooth fairy and Santa Claus, and they congregate here on Wed nights.
The music is pretty good, good mix of music from Dance and House tracks to hip-​hop and Top 40, and the place def gets crowded by 11, especially if the second room isn’t open. The drinks are a bit overpriced, but there’s no cover so it’s a trade off. Also, the location is awesome because it’s in Union Square so there are some good food options beforehand and it’s easy to find a cab or take a train afterwards.
Overall, no place is perfect and I do wish that they event wasn’t on a Wed night, however; it is consistently an awesome place to go if you are a NY lesbian, especially a single one.
