Founded in 2010, Tortoise & Blonde is a modern eyewear concept taking three generations of optical experience into adventurous new territory.

Tortoise & Blonde designs are classic in theory, construction, and execution. T&B uses custom cellulose acetate, German-​engineered hinges and hardware, and the best lenses for individual needs. The frames are manufactured in the same factories used by the world’s leading eyewear brands, then fabricated and dispensed under the watchful care of an in-​house optometric team to the customer’s specifications.

With Tortoise & Blonde’s low-​cost, customer-​facing model, glasses are not just a necessity but an accessory, and a personal optical wardrobe can be built.

History

Established in 2014.

Tortoise & Blonde Eyewear started with the intent to bring high quality eyewear from Italy to New Yorkers at a fraction of the price of local opticians. Our best in class product combined with our professional and informative staff has made T&B one of the hottest optical shops in the city in very little time.

We bring new collections in every season and have a full complement of styles for you to choose from. Each frame is hand made in Italy using only the best materials, and each lens is measured to precision by a member of our optically-​trained staff.
