Topshop

I was in this shop the other day, and I overheard an manager or supervisor speaking to an employee in a way that was completely inappropriate. I walked right out. Store has lots of nice clothes, but that just made me feel very uncomfortable.

The store is pretty. Also they got a DJ too.
Only thing is price — which is high. Also size is much bigger than other brands. I preferred to keep doing my shopping from Zara.

I was excited to finally see TopShop in the states. Sort of like the reaction I had when H&M finally released the USA online store! Yeah I totally freaked. In a great way.
When I walked in, I was not acknowledge like you would be at Urban Outfitters, Banana Republic, etc.
I went upstairs to look at the accessories. A salesman welcomed me and asked if I needed help. Which made feel like I wasn’t invisible after all.
If you come here expect to pay with your arm and a leg, unless you go to the sales area where you could potentially find a good deal, if you’re a size 0 that is. What a drag.
The store was very clean.
I say check it out. But this store isn’t really my style.

This is a lovely location with a pretty broad selection. Decent customer service. The only thing… when I tried to approach the sales associate in women’s shoes for a size, she was facing DEEP into a corner, shoulders hunched over, fixated on something… a work task perhaps? Ah, but no. She was texting. As soon as she saw me out of the corner of her eye, she stopped immediately and offered to help me, but still. Yikes. I was chill and didn’t say anything because I wasn’t in a hurry. The next customer might not have been so nice about it!
Really cute store and definitely worth a visit.

The selection here is pretty good. There was a range from basics to more fashionable pieces. But I feel like that’s the minimum expectation for a store this big in SoHo. That’s where my positive comments end. It was ungodly loud. I get that you’re marketing to a younger crowd, but look around. The people spending money on your store are older and it’s unnecessary to blast the music for them. Beyond that, the staff was rude. A rack fell off the wall onto my friend and the associate who was standing nearby silently pursed her lips and rolled her eyes. Not «Oh I’m so sorry. Are you okay?» I will not spend money here. If I want Top Shop, I’ll buy it from Nordstrom where they understand customer service.

Excellent customer service from the employees here, very impressed with my interactions as well as the great shoe selection.

I actually had a really good experience here. It wasn’t very busy on a Saturday night and I went looking specifically for the lace up flats I had seen online. I went straight to the shoe section and immediately saw what I wanted. The associate was helping two other people but made eye contact and let me know he would help me when he was done. I asked for my size the same style in two colors. I kept it calm but inside I was so excited bc I had been looking for shoes like this for a long time. I took a seat and he came out with one box and said they only had 9.5. My heart dropped! He could see how disappointed I was and asked if there was any other shoes I liked or wanted to try on. He called the Soho location for another customer and asked about the shoes I wanted. They were sold out in my size too. He mentioned I could order them online on the 2^nd floor which I ended up doing. They also gave me free express shipping for ordering in store! He went above and beyond and seemed like he genuinely wanted me to leave happy. The other associate that helped me place my order online was really nice as well.

Clothes seem decent, but I wouldn’t know since I wasn’t able to purchase. I came here looking for a suit, found something I liked and was told they do free alterations with the shopping consultant that works there. He wasn’t there so they said they would hold the suit until I could make an appointment. Next day, I tried contacting the consultant — no reply. So I call the store and the suit is gone. I gave my name and they said they didn’t write names down for holds. Just doesn’t make sense. It wasn’t worth my time to spend $ 400 on something where people don’t care enough either way. I’ll take my business elsewhere. One star for the service, another star for clothes that seem decent.

i enjoy shopping with this company but today as i got off work and went to this location and this is what the security said to me.
Me: Hello, what time are you guys closing?
Security: You can’t read?
Me: What did you just say to me?
Security: i said can you not read?
Me: okay. Thank you
I will never go back to this location again because of this horrible experience. I work for a company right down the street and no way this sort of action can happen especially on 5^th Ave where anyone can be entering your door, Especially if you are the first face they come across. I hope this get brought up to higher management to have a touch base with this worker. middle age, 6’2+, dark skin. I have a photo.

I love this store. It’s very nice and has a great selection. I would wear most of the clothing on the ground floor and everything on the top floor that has more the boutique higher end stuff. Not bad prices either. Even the Topshop Men floor has great stuff and shoes for guys… I love this place.

Store is nicely organized. However today the accessory section was having some construction. The employees are nice and I love how I can get a 10% off discount when I show my student card.

Wow ! Don’t get Me wrong. I never got the idea of TopShops price points. 700 for a suit but 85 for a pair of Chelsea boots. But I like the look. I used to go to the one in Soho and expected to be met with a condescending attitude. The Fifth ave. Store was pleasant and I was taken care of by a very professional sales team.

My daughter just loves this store. She became hooked while in London and other than a small corner in Nordstroms there isn’t a Topshop near us.
This store was a real treat. It had so much to choose from, even my youngest daughter who hates fashion or clothes in general picked out a few things. Trying things on was effortless and there was never a line.
A great shop to visit.

Bought 4 items for the first time in the store worth almost $ 500. Flew out that week to use the dresses only to find out the 2 of them still had sensors on. Called customer service countless times, sometimes it will just automatically hang up the phonecall due to the high volume but the weirdest thing of all is how sometimes it will say «due to an emergency evacuation» schpill. Would have believe it if didnt happened so often in different days and different times. Long story short got ahold of them only to tell me to now call the 5^th avenue store so they can cover the shipping fee to take out my censor. I wouldnt have mind if he wasnt so rude and when I said thats your only option he just replied «sorry» and hung up the phone. Suffice to say that will be the first and last I will ever buy anything from there

It’s a great enough fact that Topshop has come to the US, but for Sir Philip Green to have recently opened a location in Midtown is a dream come true. Considering how close it is to my office, this «dream» is also quite a dangerous reality!
The epitome of fast fashion, what you find on display at Topshop — I promise you — is the direction that fashion is going round the world. Always the first with trends, don’t question it, just buy it. Any and every location I have visited from London to Soho to Rock Center has been a great source of fashion and accessories for ladies and young and trendy lads alike. Not as «cheap» as oh say Forever 21 or H&M but even trendier than Zara for about the same range. Some very special pieces can price out quite high but I assure you that if you are trying to make a memorable impression, it’s worth it. If you need help in styling yourself they offer a great personal shopping service and if you are a student, consider yourself lucky to get that 10% discount off each purchase.
4 floors worth of the best affordable fashion pieces. This is indeed very similar to what I image heaven to be.

I love Topshop BUT I had THE worst experience at this store!
I bought something online and wanted to return in store because I work near that area anyway so why not just go there instead of having to mail it and wait for them to receive my refund and then process it have to wait to have it back on my statement, and all that jazz. So, I didn’t have the credit card that I made my purchase with, with me so I was told I only can have it placed on a gift card. (I work retail so direct returns should go straight back without needing to see the credit card so I don’t know if Topshop just doesn’t have the ability to do that or the employees didn’t know what they were doing.) I then went on Topshop’s site recently and wanted to make a purchase and remembered I have a gift card so I thought I would use it. Hey, turns out it’s declined! I call their store and when I finally get put through, I tell them my situation and the girl on the phone says she needs to put me on hold. She didn’t know how to put me on hold and let me sit there listening to their conversation and store music for a few minutes before she decided to ask someone how to put a person on hold. She whispered it too which I thought was hilarious because I heard her loud and clear.
After some time she told me their «gift card» people are in a meeting and she had to call me back when they were done. I asked if they would call me back the same day or the next and she said the same day because they wouldn’t be in the meeting for that long. Turns out they didn’t call me back so now I’m sitting here more unhappy then I already was.
Fortunately, I went to the store and got it sorted out and got my money put on another gift card because guess what? The first gift card was never activated! Round of applause Topshop staff!
I even contacted them through Twitter to complain and their excuse is that since the store is relatively new the staff are still coming to terms with phones and systems in place. Great excuse! How about you should have trained your employees more before you opened. On a daily people are new to working at retail stores but I don’t see everyone complaining and having them blame it on their new employees and how they’re new so they’re allowed to not know what their doing.
I won’t go back to this one but I still love Topshop.

Just opened. 4 floors! Seems like they’ve been here forever. Love the selection — simple with a twist. Music is rather annoying annoying but staff is very helpful.
