I’ve been here a couple of times and it’s a great local cheap spot to get your nails done. It’s nothing fancy but they get the job done. They are really nice and efficient. The last time I had to wait 15 minutes for a regular mani/​pedi and even though the guy did a quick job, it was really good — cut the cuticles well and painted my short nails well.

The service was nice. They take time to do your nails but once another regular comes in they rush to finish the nails. Will potentially chip in a week if not two days. My friend and I waitef 1 hour to get our nails done once, it took forever.

Pretty baffled by the other reviews.
I asked for a regular pedicure, and was aggressively upsold to a spa version, regardless of how many times I insisted upon regular. To add insult to injury, my gel manicure ended up totally destroyed before the week’s end. There’s a billion awesome salons in the area, absolutely no reason to go here.

This place is hit or miss. I’ve been coming here 1 – 2 times a month for over a year. Sometimes I’m happy with my service and other times the person doing my mani/​pedi is doing the bare minimum– which is frustrating. If you have a good experience, awesome! Get the persons name and ask for them the next time you go or make an appointment with them specifically. I’m going to take my own advice and do this next time!

The people here are really nice and they do their very best to cater to your needs, and my manicure has lasted a week. The place itself looks a little sketchy and dirty, so I wouldn’t get a wax there.

I go to this place all the time and often have small complaints — the manicure chips in one day, if something is smudged they paint over it rather than fix it, you can tell they are extremely rushed when the place is busy, but I’ve never actually complained about any of it.
I came in tonight for a pedicure. They told me about 10 minutes in that they didn’t have hot water… So there was none of the usual running water/​soaking/​massage involves. It was (literally) a 15 minute pedicure. At the end, the price was the same as always, and when I asked about it my pedicurist acted like she didn’t understand me (even though she’d been speaking with me during the pedicure) and laughed and walked away. I’m sad to say I may not be going back as I frequent this salon.

Been coming here for about 7 months now. Get a different manicurist every time. Some are absolutely sweet and they take there time, other times I get someone who just wants me in and out of there. It’s a hit or miss never really know what your going to get.

One of the worst experiences I’ve had at a salon. I went in to get TWO acrylic nails fixed. I like a long coffin shape so I knew they would take a little longer but was fine with 30 – 40 min. Apparently, my technician (male) didn’t care to tell me they do not do acrylic and proceeded to hand file my nail remnants all the way down then dip each finger in powder, having to layer the powder about seven times each hand. TWO hours later, I had TWO new nails that barely resembled the rest of my hands and I paid $ 21!!! Maybe you should have been up front about the circumstances and I might have tipped and not wrote this awful review. This place is a rip off and I also didn’t see them using plastic liners in their pedicure tubs. Seeing as I had time to look around at another girl who got a mani and pedi in much less time than it took me to get two nails fixed.

Thank goodness for Unilocal!I was looking to see if there were any well reviewed nail salons in my new neighborhood to price check gel manicures and pedicures to my go to place (I also just finished a 10 m+p package there). I was heading out of country for a wedding followed by some holiday.
The gel cost wasn’t much different but I figured I’d try a regular m+p at the $ 26 special. I made it here on a Monday night at 915 pm. It’s quite small, could take 10 people at a time max 4 or 5 mani and pedi tables each). I’ll be honest, if you’re a germphobe, this may not be your joint. Not quite cleaned to shine and could use a new coat of paint or so. I was still game to give ot a try, and desperate as I flew the next night. I had to wait 10 – 15 minutes before I was taken. If you depend on the salon to have a polish, youre in luck. A good selection of OPI and Essie polishes here for you!! I was glad to see a good variety of OPI colors (and Essie too). My mani and pedi went without issue. I dried, and walked home.
And they offer a loyalty card, 10 visits and a free manicure. But here’s why I gave this a 5. I didn’t mention the holiday following the wedding was 9 days travelling and hitting the salty Adriatic Sea, climbing over rocks without aqua shoes, and walking on sand. I know it’s unbelievable but the pedicure lasted. Not just through the holiday, but for a month with very little chipping! The manicure, even a few days longer than the average one week.
I was so sold, I went back two weeks ago. And I’m only just seeing the tops of the nails wear a bit. Thank you Unilocal and to the employees for the guidance and service!

A male friend and I went to Top Beauty Spa on a Saturday evening. He got a green tea pedicure and I had a regular mani/​pedi. My technician, Angela did an incredible job. She paid such close attention to details and I left with the best manicure I’ve received in a long time. My nails usually chip as soon as I wash my hair — I’m 3 days in with very minimal chipping.
My friend was very pleased with his pedicure (not an easy feat!), which included callous removal and an extra massage. He said the technician spent extra time to make sure the job was well done. The cost wasn’t bad either — $ 31 for the mani/​pedi, and $ 48 for the nicer pedicure. We rarely find spots in the city that we want to go back to — I have a feeling Top Beauty Spa will now be our regular go-​to.

Friday night with my friend and we didn’t want to go home so I suggested manicures at 9pm. We found this spot through Unilocal as it was one of the only ones open at that hour. Both my friend and I were shocked at the quality of our manis and I also got a pedicure. By far the best mani and pedi application. The way they apply polish! My friend had a regular manicure white polish for $ 9 and the lines were perfect! I have nude gels for $ 30 and the shape of my nail, is perfect. They filed them with such attention to detail. Both my friend and I were shocked at the quality from this unassuming place. Definite must go if you’re in NYC. Since my friends lives in Harlem she’s now going to make the trek down here. I will anytime I’m in town visiting. Thanks Unilocal

As I sit on the plane waiting to take off on vacation (normally with beautifully manicured hands and feet!!) I am compelled to write this review of the worst manicure ever!!!
I got there around 8:15. Got my pedicure first which was just ok. Waited around about 15 for them to start my manicure. Not sure what the hold up was, but whatever. The manicure itself was just ok as well. I went home and made sure to let my nails dry and not get in any water. I didn’t do any heavy work or anything of the sort. I showered in the morning and the first thing I noticed is the edges lifted off of each and every nail. WTF? Then an hour later completely chipped.
I have never had this happen even when I was rough with my hands after a manicure. I’m convinced the nail polish is watered down or something. Pedicure still looks ok but I will not be returning. Go at your own risk

Great mani pedi deal! And I recommend the extra 10 min foot massage! Definitely a great place to get your nails done.

The major pro of this place is the late hours. Like me, I’m sure many people found this place by searching for «open: [insert time after 5pm]». Unilocal,your features never cease to amaze me. (But bring back search nearby! Please!)
So, the greatness of being open late — even on Sunday at 7:45pm when I went — aside, the experience was less than great.
My mani, although nicely shaped, is pitted and not painted to the edge, so it’s already peeling up on the side a day later. And for the first time in like ten years of NYC nail salon usage, the lady cut my foot during my pedi with the cuticle scissors. Ow!
I got a 10min chair massage ($ 12) which was amazing, though.
So, my pedi is ok (wound is healing), my mani is meh to not great and the massage was awesome. I am 100% sure that the less than stellar service was because the lady who did my treatments was tired after a long day. But um, I paid the same as the gal who came at 11am, so I’m going to stand by 3 stars. I may try them again at an earlier time if I find myself in the neighborhood again.

Top Beauty Spa, like all nail salons out there, have some great and some less great technicians. You may not always have a perfect time. That said, this is the place I keep returning to time after time and I encourage you to give it a second try if you have a less than stellar time there (especially if it’s your first time.)
Pros:
1. Every nail package, including a $ 9.50 manicure, comes with a couple minutes of massage. This may seem similar to many other spots, but this is a full blown massage with lotion and solid pressure, even though it may only be a few minutes. It’s free after all, and a nice little touch of extra care. It also is usually pretty good, not the weak and pathetic 10 seconds you might get somewhere else. Which brings me to…
2. The massages are awesome. You can add on a chair massage that you’ll get after they’re done painting your nails, and I can’t imagine a better way to let them dry. Your first 10 minutes are 12.50 and if you add another round it’s just another $ 10 (they’ll ask if you want another round of ten minutes and you likely will.) This is for your typical chair massage but they go super deep and sometimes I have found adding 10 – 12 $ to my mani or mani-​pedi is definitely worth it (all my stress goes to my shoulders) especially when the cheapest massage you’ll get is 60 – 90 $ for an hour. The addition is a great way to top off your services.
The third pro is also sort of the first con.
CONS:
3. /​1. The 25 $ mani-​pedi M-​Th deal is really a good price. In light of the recent NYT piece regarding the conditions of salon workers, I can’t reliably say that this salon is the most ethical or the workers the best treated. I have never seen anything to prove that they aren’t well treated but compared to some other salons who have proactively posted signs about working to make sure their workers’ needs are met, you’re not going to see any of that here. The price is great but I make sure to tip 40−50% if I can and in cash.
2. This is what you would call a «no frills» place. The massage chairs for pedicures are nice and everything is acceptable but this is by no means a 5 star spot. But the value and service makes up for this.
3. They try to up sell a little but not as aggressively as other places.
Overall, I often come here because they’re consistent and do the job well. The pedicures last forever and manicures last about a week (typical) but I haven’t done any gel or fancier stuff so I can’t speak to that. This is definitely a spot worth checking out!

Worst pedicure ever. Less than 10 minutes after leaving my pedicure was already bubbling and peeling off my big toes. Did not return to the store because it was too busy. I am going to have to return tomorrow during my lunch break to get this fixed. Please be aware of quality. Pedicure felt rushed and service was sub-​par.

Top Beauty Spa is great if you are looking for a place that is **Open Late**. They capitalize on this and are very busy between 8 – 10 p.m.
Great selection of Essie and O.P.I. polishes. Estheticians are pleasant and do a good job at massages, too. At $ 25 for a mani/​pedi it’s well priced for the neighborhood. While there are cheaper places I frequent more regularly, I think this place has a few more frills that make up for the difference in price and keep me coming back (i.e. massage chairs that work, the built in hand/​feet/​back massage for a mani pedi lasts more than 5 seconds and the place is clean).

After having a few less than stellar experiences at a different place, I was on the hunt for my new go-​to spot… and this might be it. I went here a few years ago when it was called something else, but I believe it has new owners now. Angela obviously takes pride in her work and did a wonderful job on my mani/​pedi. Here’s what I liked:
–It was quiet, they don’t talk and they were playing instrumental classical music
–clean
–pedicure chairs built in massage worked!
–they had a tv playing abc with subtitles (jeopardy was on!)
–they will try to up sell, but they don’t have an attitude when you say no
-$ 26 for mani/​pedi Mon-​Thursday, this included wohand, foot and shoulder runs

Came here thurs for the $ 9.50 manicure (50 cent tax). Everyone is nice in here, the lady that serviced me started off slow then rushed mid way as soon as people started walking in. Wish they could just take their time and go in the same pace as I feel super rushed and they want to service the next person. Maybe it was the lady I got.
After she cleaned up my cuticles she had me pay first and asked if I wanted a quick dry top coat and pulled out the seche vite (which I have at home) for $ 1 extra. Never been asked this before but I usually get this for free in other nail salons?

Got a great manicure for only $ 9.5 before tip.
Pros:
* Professional & perfectionist manicurists — I am very pleased with my manicure and she also gave me a back massage while my nails were drying
* Very large and clean facility
* Super friendly and sweet staff
* Didn’t make an appointment and was serviced immediately on a Wednesday evening
Cons:
* Since Top Beaty used to be called Azure Nails, management needs to close or merge their old Azure Nails account to this one, since a lot of people still get confused and spend 5 minutes wandering 2^nd Avenue wondering looking for the Azure storefront. Or they can change their storefront to have both names.
* While they do have a large selection of colors, their nail rack keeps 2 – 3 rows of polish, so it’s hard to view them all at once. They need a rack where it only keeps one row.

* Only take credit card charges of more than $ 20
* If you plan on returning make sure to get their membership card, 10 for 1 free
