Just wanted to note that I have now been working out at Title Boxing with great boxing/​kickboxing coaches Michael, Joe, Justin, Marisa, Johnny, Greg, Alex, Joel for almost 2 years now… and as hard/​challenging/​did-​I-​say-​still-​hard! as the workouts are, I can’t imagine an inspiring, healthy lifestyle without this amazing gym :-)

Please, save yourself and avoid signing a yearlong membership/​deal with the devil. Michael will do a hard sell — BUT IT IS NOT WORTH IT. You are signing a year long contract that you will NOT get out of, and even after that year is over you will have one hell of a time canceling the membership. I have been trying to cancel since February — it is May and they are still charging my card $ 145/​month. After endless emails & phone calls, I was forced to physically go into the studio to sign cancellation papers and was assured I would never see another charge on my card from Title Boxing again. Yet, I WAS STILL CHARGED $ 145 THE NEXT MONTH.
I REPEAT, DO NOT SIGN A CONTRACT!!! If you do, immediately cancel your credit card they have on file.
P. S. I have never written a Unilocal review in my life. But, I feel so passionately that Title Boxing is stealing money from hard working people, that I had to share my tale of complete and utter frustration over TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE.

Title Boxing is phenomenal. The classes are a TOTAL BODY WORKOUT — seriously! I started going via Classpass and have since become addicted to continuing to build my boxing skill-​set and endurance class after class. This class is by no means a walk in the park and you will leave feeling energized, sweaty, and the next morning (or 6 hours later) a little sore.
The trainers are experienced and motivate you throughout the session. The boxing class is broken into three parts: warm-​up (cardio), boxing, cool-​down (abs). The music is upbeat and if the trainers and the beats aren’t enough for you to keep on punching then the energy of everyone in the class will truly push you to work harder. Also, the staff is extremely helpful they will correct your stance and punches throughout the session to make sure you are getting the best workout possible and keeping yourself free from injury.
There are towels available at the front desk if you would like to shower after class. In the locker rooms shampoo, conditioner, and bodywash are provided. Also, if you plan to shower — accommodate time! There are 2 showers in the women’s locker room so plan your schedule accordingly to get to where you need to be on time. There are lockers in the main gym area — bring a lock! Lastly, there are gloves available to rent (included within class cost), but I purchased my own after my first class. You will also need to have a pair of hand wraps for class. They can be purchased at the studio in a variety of colors for $ 10. Gloves are also available for purchase too — many color options/​styles. The trainers will help you find the best fit/​style to suit your purpose.

Went to my first class today at 12:30. If you go to the website and sign up for the «first shot free» class you will receive an email letting you know that this location does not offer a free class. So keep that in mind. I paid $ 35 (plus tax) which included $ 10 hand wraps (you can keep) and gloves (which must be returned). I arrived about 10 minutes early and the owner, Michael, greeted me when I walked in and took my information down and helped me wrap my hands and explained the membership details. The hand wraps make a huge difference! The classes i’ve taken at other locations in the past did not require hand wraps and my hands were always sore and bruised from hitting the bags.
Greg was the instructor. He had us go through a drill of burpees, squats, lunges, jumping jacks, etc., as the warmup. I am not in great shape and I was already dying in the first 2 minutes lol but in a good way. There were about 15 other people in this class varying in different fitness levels. Made me feel comfortable that I was not the only one struggling during this «warmup».
During the boxing drill, Greg took us through a series of jabs, hooks, uppercuts with different combinations. I liked that he walked around to every student there (more than once) making sure we had the right form. He gave everyone there one-​on-​one attention throughout the class. He was encouraging and motivating. The class ended with a core workout that will leave you sore for days!
If you want to shower, you have to go to the front desk to get a towel.
The showers were clean and provided the basic amenities you would need like bodywash, soap, conditioner, lotion, hairdryer, etc. There were only 2 showers so I can see this getting busy during the morning or a busier class. No one else used the showers while I was there so I was in and out pretty quickly.
The only downside I would add is that they dont provide mats for when you are doing workouts on the floor. When you lay down to do sit ups or planks you can smell the sweat on the floor… so glad I had time for a shower. Other than that the facility was clean and very well maintained.
The workout was incredible and it kicked my butt!

Gave Title Boxing and Kickboxing a shot through classpass and totally happy I did. I took boxing last week with Michael (he’s great — SO much energy and encouragement. He makes you not want to stop and to give it your all) and kickboxing this week with Johnny (also encouraging, and class had a really great flow). Staff is friendly and attentive at the front when you arrive — making you feel comfortable as a newbie and helping to wrap your hands if you need it. Instructors are knowledgeable, fit, and constantly rotating around the room making sure technique and form are correct. Especially love the ab focused burn out at the end of class. It’s tough. It hurts. It feels like it’s totally worth it. Be prepared to sweat like crazy and feel the burn!

Oh god what have I done.
Something good! I decided to join this place after eying it for the past 4 months. I live a block away so I’ve been curious. It looks really intense at first but after your first class, it’ll be much better! You get the hang of it.
First drop in class is $ 35 (not free like they say on Title’s site). It’s a thing with this specific location. And you’ll have to buy hand wraps, but that’s fine because if you decide to join they’ll deduct this cost from your first month/​first payment.
My first class was with Justin and it was great. He was really tough but didn’t push you too far if you thought you were going to pass out. I’ve also had classes with Michael and John and they all have different styles of running their own sessions. For me I think the variety is what makes this better. Going for the same trainer each time is nice since they remember faces – but their warm ups are different, their sets are different, etc.
If you’re really set on this invest in some gloves for yourself. The ones that you can borrow are free but they smell awful at the end of the workout because of communal sweat, and I know they try and clean them, but the gloves are just used so often it’s hard to get rid of the smell! As is the case with most borrowed equipment. I got my own pair as a result.
Love this place. Worth the money to me, especially since I need someone to push me or I won’t work out as hard hahah.

My Favorite studio on classpass! Try to get your class with Michael, he is attentive and really enthusiastic when he teaches. I’ve also taken classes with Joel who is also great.
First off as a beginner in boxing I like that if you’re new (the instructors can tell), Michael/​Joel will go around to correct your form. To have this kind of attentiveness for a larger class is nice to have especially if you’re just starting to learn how to box. Additionally, the class is structured as 15 minutes cardio which includes squats/​knee high jumps, lunges — then 30 minutes boxing — and finally the class ends with 15 minutes of core work.
The place also cleans gloves after every class, which is more sanitary than other boxing classes (IE. Overthrow). Additionally as a pro tip, go to the 6:15p classes if you prefer your gloves to be completely dry – this is the first boxing class to start off the night.
Wrist wraps are $ 10, so if you can get them from Amazon for around $ 8 if you want to save a few bucks.
It’s typically a ⁶⁰⁄₄₀ female to male ratio. Everyone gets a good work out and since summer is coming up, I’m planning on maxing out this place on Classpass every month!

I came across this place by accident via classpass. To my surprise, I come back once a week! I never break a sweat when I work out but this place makes me sweat and I get sore after each session! It’s def challenging and fun! I bought my boxing gloves today from title, looking forward to coming here every weekend! Come check it out!

Love this place! I’ve been to boxing and kick boxing with all the instructors and only disliked one… I think it was Joe? He was only giving attention to selective individuals and went through everything really quickly… it was late so maybe he was just tired and ready to go home? Idk!
Besides him, everyone was great! I highly recommend Michael’s classes! He’s very attentive and really helps you correct your form when you need it! Also, appreciate that they don’t get frustrated when you mess up!
There’s lockers in the back of the studio, bathrooms with showers (bring your own stuff), free gloves to use and wraps to purchase (required for the class). If you buy some before hand make sure they’re the long ones! And arrive at least 15 mins before hand so they can help you wrap up before class!
I’m not hard core with boxing and just come for a good workout (cardio warm up and cool downs) so this is a great place for that! I use class pass so I can’t comment on the monthly payments but someone’s always answered the phone when I’ve called front desk! And everyone’s really friendly!

I really like the workouts here. They are great and addictive. I looked at a variety of gyms before I joined and found that, based on the schedule (classes are 7 days a week and at various times of the day) and the intensity of the classes, it was definitely worth it for me. I use this as my main means of exercising, so the price is quite good for me. Though, if you only go twice a week, I can see the monthly price being a bit steep (but I would like to point out that nowhere else in the City is really going to be less expensive). I find all of the trainers to be quite personable and they are always willing to answer my questions when I have one about technique. So, in response to some other comments, yes this not the place for someone who wants to immediately start fighting competitively or spar, it IS an awesome place to an intense work out and get in the swing of boxing/​kickboxing.
My criticisms are minimal and, tbh, nit-​picky. It is hard to tell which container is for shampoo, conditioner, and body wash in the showers (the labels are really small and hard to read). As someone who goes all the time, I think the music could be a little more varied, but again, that is just because I am listening to the same mixes as all the time.

A friend recommended that my girlfriends and I try this place– I have nothing but great things to say about this gym, but I’m going to try and keep this short for those who want the bulk of info without the run-​on type of review.
Gym:
–the overall size is large, tons of bags (well spaced), good sized lockers, bathroom is very clean, gloves are nice and still new in appearance, new individually packaged wraps available for purchase, water vending machine for purchase, (thank god! Forgot mine), great sound system, fun energetic music & overall very clean gym.
Registration Staff:
Very friendly, greets you upon walking in, approachable and willing to assist if you don’t feel well.
Trainers & class:
I trained with Michael and he was amazing!
–High intensity, authentic, motivating, really gets into it and helps you along the way. His classes gives you the same feeling that a smaller sized class does– except there’s a ton of people there! Walks around the room, repeats the drills many times, encourages you to Really PUSH YOURSELF! And PUSH YOURSELF HARD to achieve the results you will gain in the end.
It’s Total body workout–
Focusing on the lower body, squats, push ups, lunges, jumps and all types of variations you swear you’ve never heard of! Plus a medicine ball that makes it all that much tougher, working the core, the arms and the legs!
Second segment is focused on boxing combinations and a beginner can learn how to do them and gradually become better at it (everyone starts somewhere right) but for an intermediate/​advanced person– this class is fun!
Third segment is focused on the abs! Yes, it’s not done until the abs are tight! Just like the first segment, he has all types of variations on how to get those sexy beach body abs going ;)
Now, you will sweat and sweat A LOT! And in the end, you’ll feel GREAT! It’s overall a high intensity class but you can go at your own pace. The energy of the place will make you want to push yourself even further and we all know only when that happens is when you GAIN REAL RESULTS!
I’ve taken many many classes from all over the city, and this class was by MILES a lot better than any other class. Take MICHAEL’S class and you’ll understand why.
Ask when exactly the busy days and times are and arrive 15 – 20 min early and choose a bag in the front! You’ll be happy you did!
Overall nothing but great things to say about this gym. If you’re looking for an AMAZING WORKOUT, clean gym, friendly staff, friendly fellow boxers and a gym that has that family feel– try out this place!
No doubt this is THE BEST TOTAL BODY BOXING GYM IN NYC!

Pros: Decent cardio workout. Nice entrepreneurial owner. Cons: Do not come here to learn. The ring in the back is an expensive prop. They have you sign credit card agreements and run billing like a pawn shop.

Being a resident of the Midtown West neighborhood for a few years I have watched it grow tremendously. I was extremely happy to see Title Boxing Club open because I always thought the area needed something like this. I was very hesitant to go in at first; with absolutely no boxing experience whatsoever, I didn’t want to make a complete fool of myself or get injured. I finally got the courage to take a trial class & joined a few days later in April of this year.
I am so happy I pushed myself to go in that day as it has become my home away from home. I absolutely love the staff; they have made me feel completely comfortable from my first class to this day. For my first few classes I barely knew the difference between a jab and a hook and they PATIENTLY helped me ease into learning the moves. My inner Mohammed Ali came out in no time:)
After a few classes I realized in order for me to tweak the basic moves, it would be beneficial to take a private session with Michael who is the owner of the studio. Working with Michael was an awesome experience and the skills that I learned from that one session have been invaluable. I plan on taking more private sessions in the near future as my work schedule permits.
Not only am I learning boxing skills each time I go to class, I’ve absolutely noticed a positive change in my body (as have my friends)! The extra confidence I have gained doesn’t hurt either.
The classes are extremely tough but I do not even think about time, I just keep pushing myself and if I am about to give up the teacher whoever that may be is sure to motivate me with that extra push. They are always lending a hand or a correction in form if needed which is extremely important to prevent injury. I can go on about how wonderful the staff is but the other members of the gym are just as pleasant and friendly. I have made friends that I spend time with outside of the gym and I look forward to seeing the same friendly faces at each class I attend. It is nice to see people with similar motivation and goals as myself.
There are many positive happenings occurring at Title boxing club and I know this is just the beginning of my time here. They have recently added early morning classes on Saturday with my favorite instructor Michael. This makes getting an early start easy and I can still enjoy my Saturday to the fullest knowing I challenged myself and completed a full body boxing workout! I am so happy I made the decision to try a class and didn’t let fear hold me back. I have discovered an AMAZING workout and met some great people which can often be hard in this city! I highly encourage anyone who is thinking of trying a class to take the plunge, you will not be disappointed!

I was shopping one day in July, passed this Boxing Club, stopped in to inquire about it… Fast forward I was really impressed with what I saw and heard. I went in a week later for my first class. Joined the club right away since I was looking for a way to improve my body.
The classes are intense and excellent! The schedules are flexible with one hour sessions
and I get a really great workout.
I am a 71 year old retiree, African American female and I’m proud to say I’m keeping up
with the youngsters, well almost. I feel great! I have lost several pounds already and my arms are awesome!!! Thanks to Title Boxing Club-​455 W. 37^th St. NYC, corner of 37^th and 10^th

Full disclosure: this is NOT a boxing gym. This is a CARDIO «boxing» gym.
I have boxed for over a year now and thank god have the fundamentals to dive right into these classes. However, had I not already learned how to properly throw a punch, I could easily see myself getting hurt within the first couple classes. The instructors may be very qualified boxers but they are definitely not qualified teachers. In a class of up to 40 people (mostly newbies) even if they wanted to they wouldn’t have the time to teach proper technique. YOU’RE ASKING TO GET HURT IF YOU JOIN THIS GYM WITHOUT TRAINING.
On the contrary, if you are a somewhat experienced boxer then this also isn’t the gym for you. The classes are boring and repetitive. Literally the exact same class over and over with a different face barking at you. Not to mention, it’s a NO CONTACT GYM. I can understand this so far as they don’t want people jumping in the ring before they’re ready, but THEY WILL CHARGE YOU $ 150+ JUST TO DO AN HOUR OF MIT WORK! In a «boxing» gym. That’s archaic.
In short, if you’re looking to over-​pay to break your wrist while repeating the same class on loop a few times a week… congrats, you found the gym of your dreams.

The stars is for the gym area and the actual workout only. The showers are a whole other story!
I’ve been to 2 classes at Title with Michael, and he is a beast! The warmup will more than warm you up, and the rest of the class is also just go-​go-​go! And unlike some other gyms, I feel their workouts are geared towards people of all levels and are serious about boxing and not just the cardio. And Michael will make sure you start your morning by giving everything to your workout!
The space is also great, the entire staff is wide awake and helpful early in the morning. The equipment is kept ship shape, and you won’t be sinking your hands into sweaty gloves (happens too often at other gyms!)
My only qualm is the number of showers, especially for the ladies– there is usually a long line, so leave yourself some time, or come organized with your stuff and get a bag close to the restrooms so you can get to the showers first if you’re in a hurry!

Noticeable improvement in my fitness levels after only a few weeks. The high-​intensity classes give you a cardio workout you just don’t get in the gym.
Case in point–
I recently took the army physical fitness test and maxed pushups (75), sit-​ups (80) and almost maxed my run (13:20 two mile). I haven’t run that fast since college!
Instructors are great, very motivating. Definitely recommend checking it out!

Took my very first class here day via ClassPass. They recommend that you arrive 20 minutes early to sign in and get your hands wrapped. Do it. They also mention that gloves are free to rent but you have to buy the hand wrap for $ 10. I went to Modells a day in advance and got some for $ 5. I also purchased my own gloves as I didn’t want to put my hands in funky ones. $ 30.
SN: they clean the inside of the funky gloves with air freshener. I know because when we were doing floor exercises at the end of class one of the employees starting cleaning the gloves near me and I was inhaling that crap!
The class takes place in one large room adjacent to the reception desk. Punching bags are spaced out perfectly and hang from an overhead contraption. There were probably 20 – 30 people in the class.
There isn’t a locker room but actual lockers against a wall within the studio. You’ll need to bring your own lock or trust that people won’t steal your things.
This was my second boxing class so I stayed to the back of the room slightly intimidated. There was 1 instructor who directed us on the moves but it was hard to see him as bags were in the way. He walked around adjusting me. In between the boxing their were short circuits of push ups, burpees, lunges, crunches (on the dirty floor), jumping jacks, etc.
Overall it was a good workout but I prefer a smaller class so I could get one on one attention — I didn’t know what I was doing.
After class I ventured to the ladies room as I needed to shower before my lunch date. There are 2 bathroom stalls and 2 shower stalls. No towels and minimal toiletries. Luckily I always bring my own toiletries but didn’t know what to do about the no towel situation. While in the shower I noticed that the water was running out into the common space {le sigh} so I rushed. Dried my body with paper towels and got the hell out of there.

If you’re looking for a way to burn a lot of calories, this is the place to be. I run regularly, but rarely workout my upper body. After a kickboxing class here, I felt every part of my body was targeted. The class involved 8 intervals including warm up and ab work. If your goal is to learn how to box, this might not be the best place. At least with the class I attended, there were so many people, that the instructor could pretty much only demonstrate the moves.
The facility is large with bags in the center of the room. In the back they have a boxing ring, one treadmill, and weights. The bathrooms have showers with shampoo, soap, and a scale! During class, there are plenty of lockers to store your things, but there are no locks so bring your own if you care. The boxing floor itself is kind of dirty, but at the end there are Clorox wipes to wipe down everything.
The staff is also very friendly and seems passionate about boxing. If you want to try out a class just to see what it’s like, they offer one class as a free trial if you come in to look at the gym. You will have to buy your own wraps though. This place is also available on Classpass, which is a great way to try out the gym before committing to a membership.
