(see update below) I once loved this place but now it is terrible. For the past 5 years I was able to purchase two small protein shakes for the price of the large container because they didn’t carry the large container at this location. An employee even called the company’s headquarters to check if this was allowed and was told it was. Now this manager, Toni, suddenly will not allow me to buy the protein powders as I have been for the past FIVE years and was rude about it. It was bad enough they were always out of the ready-made protein shakes I liked but I continued going there for the protein shake mixes. Now, why bother? Everything they sell can be found & bought online & cheaper. I’m so annoyed by this manager that I even filed a complaint against her with the company itself. Let’s see how they respond. ******UPDATE: after filing a complaint with the company, to which they responded very promptly, I am able to buy my protein shakes there again! Thanks for the great customer service VS!

I don’t get why people find the customer service here so bad. Every time I go in someone asks me if I need help. I am an accident prone fool. I’ve come here for the time when I nearly chopped my toe off on the escalator at wall street. I came here to see if I could find anything to fight the infection spreading through my finger when I fell off a chair in someone’s back yard while drunk and scraped a chunk of finger off. Sigh. I come here for multi vitamins, etc. that help for digestion/indigestion/mood. Etc. when I feel like death. You know, I’ll pull out a toughy for them for some random stuff I googled at 3am off of the inter-webs. They’ve heard of it. I enjoy that they’re that fully loaded on their knowledge of vitamins. Also, they always have discounts and sales here all the time.

Where do I begin? I’ve had better service from a Shell gas station attendant. Employee knowledge at all the Vitamin Shoppes I’ve been to is low-to-none. When I asked about popular supplements as well as some obscure the clerk points to a general area and says to look over there. Don’t expect any help in any Vitamin Shoppe, the help is useless.

Hey hey, I liked it here a whole lot, and will be back for more supplements. First, I was one of those obnoxious people who walked in, talking loudly on her cell phone. As I walked in, I said(and for me, I talk at pretty much a 9 all the time), «OK, I’ll call you back in a second. I have to buy Optimum Nutrition Whey.» Before I even hung up, a store worker motioned me over to the shelf containing exactly what I needed. I was impressed! Then he told me his favorite recipes with each flavor… how cool. Anyway, it was really a good experience. Very pleasant!

DONOTGOHEREIFYOULIKEANYKINDOFCUSTOMERSERVICE. It’s really too bad because I really do like Vitamin Shoppe’s products. This is a small store in the city so naturall a lot of the stock is on shelves where customers have to ask for the item– which is fine by me. What I have a problem with is when the cashier is visably rude for no apparent reason than because I wanted to actually BUY a product and spend money in this store. There is a GNC a block away on Fulton– go there if you like any level of customer service. If I could give this place no stars I would.

Vitamin Shoppe is a good chain to get your supplements on. I was a little surprised how reasonable the prices were compared to similar stores I’ve shopped at in other parts of the country. Service at more than one location has been very helpful and friendly. The thing I like most about Vitamin Shoppe compared to GNC or other stores is that they don’t have a fee-based membership program and they don’t try to force that or other products and«deals» on you(«buy a second for only 50% and I get more commission!»). They do have a membership club, but it’s free and at the end of the year you simply get a discount coupon based on how much money you spent during the year.
