The Village Pet Spa

I brought my dog for the first time to this groomers since it was convenient & I live around the neighborhood. When I first walked in no one was at their front desk and I had no one greet me. There was a young lady who looked at me through the doorway leading to the back, made eye contact and clearly saw me but continued folding towels and did not approach me to say hello or ask if I needed help. I probably waited a few minutes until another woman who I assume is the groomer came out from behind the wall. She asked me what time my appointment was & what my dogs name was, but that was it. When I initially made an appointment a week before, I was told that my dog had to be current on all her vaccines & that I had to show proof of her being up to date but that I would be able to bring that to her first appointment. That of course is totally understandable & great! However when I went for my first appointment & I picked up my dog when she was all done they did not ask for any of this information. This kind of worried me because these rules are implemented to protect the animals going in for grooming but they aren’t actually enforced. All in all, my dogs grooming came out well, her cut was even, nails clipped, ears cleaned & she seemed to be happy when she left. She has long hair on her tail & was still pretty much the same length I brought her in with but that could just be due to style? I do wish it would’ve been cut shorter though, but I could have mentioned that specifically. Price wise I feel was fair. The staffs attitude was different when I picked her up. She engaged in more conversation & told me how sweet my dog is, that she was nervous at first but seemed to warm up after. Still didn’t really change my initial impression on their customer service. I would say my visit was OK. I probably wouldn’t take her there regularly, but if I have to due to convenience I’ll return.

There is no better feeling than leaving your dog in someone else care knowing they are happy and treated great.
Santino goes every 4 weeks and everytime he comes home looking great and happy. The shop is very clean… air conditioned… and calm atmosphere.

I’ve been using the Village Pet Spa for a few years, never any complaints, staff is friendly, store is clean. My dog always comes out smelling and looking great! Love the cute little bandanna’s they put on him. I don’t trust bringing my dog anywhere else. Highly recommended.

We bring our cocker spaniel, Sheila, here all the time, for years. Sheila is older now and has skin issues. Danielle is so careful with her and makes her look beautiful! Sheila loves her, we wouldn’t dream of bringing her anywhere else. Thank you for making my wooly little bear look like the beautiful cocker she is!

I have been taking my Shih Tzu here since she was a puppy… she’s 7 years old now. I love how they handle her, as though she were their pet, not just a client. My dog comes out looking like a princess, with an even cut, with no boo-​boos. Always beautiful and most important she’s IN A GOOD MOOD! My dog is always done how I asked her to be done, and when they say she will be and they have no trouble with me calling to check up. Very accommodating, they can often fit me in at the last minute, calling back when they get cancellations. I recommend them to all of my friends and have never heard a complaint! There are a couple of groomers closer to my house but I would rather drive a mile to Pet Spa to know my dog is being treated gently!

This is a great grooming place! My Maltese/​Shitzu looks fabulous everytime he goes there. He normally shakes when he goes to the groomer but this Spa makes him so comfortable, he is happy to go there. LOVE this place!

I have brought my dog for grooming at the spa for several times and they did a great job, however the last time I brought my maltipoo there, she was kept for ⁵⁄₆ hours. I had called to ask why is taking so long and when I would be able to pick her up. The receptionist which was a man had no idea if my dog was there or if she was picked up already. HORRIBLE. Finally after 6 hours I went and picked her up. 3 months later I called back to schedule another appointment and the owner got on the phone and told me I’m no longer allowed to bring my dog there since I called and asked about my dog the last time. That bother her very much. How horrible and unprofessional is that? I was shocked when she said that. Obviously if you have a salon open for grooming you must love dogs right? So what’s the harm if an owner calls and asks about their dog? Unbelievable!

i got a new puppy about two months ago and wanted to bring him for a grooming, like every pet owner i wanted some place that would take care of my pet. I had seen this place in passing so i went in made the appointment. The young lady made me feel comfortable about bringing him there so i did, and i have to say they done a great job with him and his grooming. I had to drag him there and drag him out. Cheap price for five star service…

Amazing groomers!
I have been taking my two Maltese there for the past 5 years and they have been amazing. They do a great job… they are good to the dogs… and the price is a great compared to what you would pay for a groomer in Manhattan.
I dont know about the larger breed dogs… but every small dog Ive seen walk out of there looks just ADORABLE!
So if you are looking for a great groomer in Queens… I highly recommend this place.
