The Unruffled Bride

I cannot express just how much we appreciated having Rebecca be a part of our big day. We hired her for our wedding at The Greenpoint Loft and everything went SO smoothly. She and her crew went above and beyond our expectations. We didn’t have to worry about a thing which is every brides dream right? I could write a book about all the things she did for us. And a special thank you to Luis for hanging the curtains that made both my mom and husband extremely happy and transformed the space perfectly.
I can’t recommend The Unruffled Bride enough!!!

Rebecca and Luis filled so many roles at our wedding. They were our Day of Coordinators but they did far beyond this and their staff was amazing. They put up all of our decorations exactly to our specs, set up all of our tables, managed the music and the sound system, helped our ceremony run smoothly, got all of our guests seated in time, put out all of our «hors d’oeuvres» and cake/​doughnuts, made the coffee (and had a genius way of trouble shooting it when one of our coffee pots broke), filled everybody’s water glasses, cleared everybody’s plates, helped with announcements and cleaned and boxed everything up at the end of the night for us. Rebecca even ran to a nearby deli and begged them for to-​go containers when our caterer forgot to provide them – we had way too much food left over and we didn’t want to waste it. They truly were amazing and helped us to just enjoy our wedding and have fun. You can tell they truly love what they do and they definitely worked hard to help us have the wedding we desired. Thank you Rebecca and Luis and your staff!

Rebecca, Luis & Jose blew it out of the park for our wedding!!! She was there every step of the way, definitely the most helpful person in my whole wedding planning process. To be honest I do not know how we would have pulled it all off with out her and her team! They were great support day of wedding… an example: right before walking down the aisle my anxiety picked up she was a great calming presence, insuring me everything was working out perfectly. She was right! They are the most hard working and dedicated people I have ever met. She was my: maid of honor, bridesmaid, therapist… she was more than a wedding planner, she was my best friend. I assure you they are the way to go. Look no further!!!

One of our most treasured wedding memories is standing together with Becky just outside of our venue — ready to follow our parents down the aisle. About to open the door, Becky looks at us, her eyes filled with tears, and tells us how happy she feels to be a part of our special day. Several months afterwards, it’s hard to imagine that day without Becky and her dedicated team. My fiancé and I argued about whether or not we should have a wedding day coordinator: he insisted that we have one; I argued that it’s one expense that we can avoid. How right he was! (and wrong I was). Our day would not have been possible without Becky: she set up lights, furniture, decorations, and the photobooth; she made us boutonnieres and designed our table settings; she ensured that all the vendors were up to par, taking care not only of our guests but also us; and kept the day filled with light and joy! Also, she was extraordinarily available during the planning process: we communicated over email and telephone multiple times; she was always responsive, gracious, and extraordinarily helpful. We highly recommend the Unruffled Bride!!!

Words can not describe how appreciative Ehrlic and I are of Rebecca and Luis’ undivided attention and responsiveness on our wedding day. But, I will do my best.
We hired Rebecca to be our day-​of-​coordinator for our wedding @ the Brooklyn Historical Society. She provided affordable pricing and did not hesitate in taking on all my diy decorations I had planned for. She met with us in person three times to introduce herself, get a sense of how we were doing with our wedding plans, and walkthrough the venue. Just from our initial meeting, we felt very comfortable and «ourselves» with Rebecca. She was a great listener and took in everything we said. She didn’t mind listening to our bickering, our sarcastic jokes, or the snide silly remarks. For areas we haven’t considered yet, she was helpful providing a list of vendors we can reach out to.
For the days leading up to the wedding, I was nervous and worried. I kept asking myself, «Will all the decorations and plans come together the day of?» or «Will the vendors know where things go?» or «Will they find my 10+ boxes that I left with the venue?» Now looking back, I was a fool to be so nervous! Everything came together and everyone has been raving about the wedding (including the setup & décor)!
Rebecca and Luis worked with the caterer, DJ, MC and our on-​site manager throughout the wedding night. They informed us if we were running behind schedule and provided solutions on how to get back on schedule. In the end of the night, we didn’t have to worry about anything. Rebecca and Luis took care of the cleanup of the decorations and let us just enjoy the rest of night partying it up!

Rebecca and Luis are everything you could possibly hope for when it comes to day-​of wedding coordination services. At our first meeting with Rebecca, she provided us with a list of things to take care of that we had not thought of, as well as a list of vendors that ended up being much less expensive than the ones we had previously looked at — all this before even signing a contract. In the weeks before the wedding Rebecca kept in touch with me and was happy to provide help whenever it was needed. Our wedding was very DIY — the event space provided a tent, tables, and chairs — the rest was up to us, and on the day of, Rebecca and Luis were lifesavers. They helped us set up all of the tables and chairs, our decorations, coordinated with our rental companies, and even went so far as to set our tables for us. During the event itself they kept everything on a proper time table and made it possible for my husband and I to actually participate in and enjoy the event. Rebecca and Luis have a calming presence. No task is too big or too small, no problem is insurmountable. Our wedding was exactly what we wanted it to be, and Rebecca and Luis contributed a huge amount to the success of our event. We are so very grateful to them for everything they did for us, and would love to sing their praises to anyone who might be looking for a DOC. Thank you, Rebecca and Luis! We could not have done this without you!

Rebecca is amazing! I am so happy my husband and I hired her to coordinate our wedding. We had a very DIY wedding so there were many details that we would need to handle ourselves. Rebecca and I emailed constantly in the months leading up to the day and met up a few weeks before. She helped keep me calm and take care of things when many things didn’t go as planned in the weeks leading up to the big day. She and her husband are a great team. When air conditioning fluid started to leak all over the reception venue, they calmly suggested I move the tables around and have the dance floor in the middle. Now nobody got dripped on and the dance party was even more amazing. I definitely had a vision for how I wanted things to look and she took my ideas and brought them to life that day. Her husband Luis even manned our Ipod during the ceremony and reception as we didn’t hire a DJ. Everything ran so smoothly thanks to them. I honestly don’t know what we would have done without them! Plus they’re just really nice people. If you need a day of coordinator, you must hire Rebecca!

Rebecca and Luis made my wedding day a wonderful experience! As an anxious bride, who had no idea what she was doing, I booked with the Unruffled Bride at the last minute. Rebecca kept in contact with me and kept me focused. She gave me brilliant suggestions and was constantly there for me. On the day of, she was like Jiminy Cricket — she was the voice in my ear making sure I remembered to enjoy the day and to eat! Her husband, Luis, kept the photo booth party alive and kickin’ and made sure the music kept going and people kept dancing. I honestly can’t thank them enough. My hubbie was skeptical about getting a coordinator at all, but by the end of the night he thanked me for hiring Rebecca. You won’t find a sweeter person and a better team. I will remember the day and I would recommend The Unruffled Bride to everyone who has an event coming up.

Rebecca was like my guardian angel through planning my wedding. Our reception was at The Foundry which is just an event space, so we had a lot of vendors to coordinate and I wasn’t sure how I would be able to oversee it all and be sure it would come together smoothly… enter Rebecca.
From our first meeting to the end of my wedding, Rebecca was a calming, reliable person for me to run to. Any concern at all before and day of… I would bring up to her, and poof — taken care of! She really takes care of so much more than you can imagine would need taking care of. No task is too big or small, she is there to make sure you enjoy every bit of your wedding day. Just as she can be calm, she can get tough with anyone who needs it also! Which can come in handy should you need it.
If you’re considering a D.O.C… just do it. Honestly, it was one of the best decisions I ever made… it’s like buying a safety net on the most important day of your life. Another thing I really loved about her, is this isn’t just another job to her — this is important to her… she is really passionate about making sure your day is perfect. For that aspect alone, it was worth every penny. And speaking of, her fee is very reasonable especially for the level of support she provides.

Rebecca Carlo made my wedding day so calm, easy and worry free. She was so supportive, encouraging and thoughtful throughout the wedding planning process. Rebecca Carlo was absolutely amazing to work with, not only on my actual wedding day but every day leading up to it from the moment my sister decided to give me the wonderful gift of a day-​of wedding coordinator. Rebecca is warm, genuine, and has a wonderful, calming spirit and positive «can-​do» attitude. Throughout this experience she was a great ally (dealing with one extremely difficult vendor who shall remain nameless) and yes, through the process, she even became a friend.
Prior to my sister’s suggestion and gift, I really didn’t think I would need a coordinator and thought it was an unnecessary expense. I thought coordination was something I could handle on my own or have a sister or my mom handle. I did not count on how many things need to get done the day of, how many mini-​emergencies would arise (from my dad forgetting his belt to a guest becoming ill and needing to be taken to the hospital!) nor did I think about how my family could possibly handle all the «little» things for me (that aren’t actually so little) when they would be busy getting themselves ready, lining up for the processional, taking pictures and being active participants in my wedding.
I did not consider who would create a timeline of the day, and ensure we stick to it (so we don’t get charged extra for time sensitive vendors)? Who would round up people for pictures so no one gets left out? Who would pin on corsages and assist elderly relatives? Who would make sure the vendors all get paid? Make sure decorations and favors are in the right places? Have people sign the guest book? Distribute programs? Cue musicians? Run back and forth between vendors and handle their questions? Collect/​gather all my personal belongings (cake knife, guest book, personally created signs, custom cake topper, keepsake menu, program, etc.) so I can make a smooth, worry-​free exit? Arrange with caterer for some food to be packed up for me and groom so we’d have food at the hotel later that night? And these are just a few examples of what Rebecca and her assistant did for me on my wedding day.
There were countless things that went on «behind the scenes» that I’m sure I still don’t know all that Rebecca and her assistant did to make my wedding go smoothly but believe me, I appreciated it all.
In gifting me with Rebecca’s coordination services, my sister really gifted me with time: time to enjoy the day, time to enjoy the amazing moments with my groom and time to catch up with family and friends that I rarely get to see.
When I shared my experience with co-​workers and friends, too many people recounted their wedding stories of barely getting a moment to themselves, not getting to see or speak to their guests, not getting to eat anything, etc. but I can honestly say that I was able to do all of the above and more. Yes, the day went faster than I could have imagined but with Rebecca’s help I was able to enjoy it all. I was able to just enjoy the moments with my groom and my family which after spending so much time and money on planning your wedding, you should be able to do!
So even if you don’t have an awesome sister to gift you with Rebecca’s services I urge you to give yourself this precious gift! Remember, you only get one chance to pull of the wedding of your dreams. With Rebecca’s help, you will be able to do so.
