The Unicorn offers guitar, ukulele, piano and vocal lessons and special events such as private parties, comedy and music shows, readings and more. We also rent the space for your event, book events, do custom songwriting for advertising, films, podcasts, anniversaries and more, and rent, fix and sell instruments of all kinds. We can handle all of NYC’s music needs.

History

Established in 2015.

We have been working in the music and entertainment business in Chinatown for over 10 years and are proud to open our doors at our Henry Street location. Our new 500 square foot former bodega was recently remodeled into a bright, airy music school, studio and performance space boasting a full sound system, lights, amps, state of the art equipment, a stage, great natural light and a clean, authentic arts vibe. Our past clients include NY Public Library, Google, several public schools around the city, film and TV production companies and more.

Jessica D.

Business Owner

Jessica D. is a musician, comedian, writer and teacher living and working in the Lower East Side. The Unicorn is a culmination of her practices and over a decade of work on stages, TV and radio shows and festivals world wide, most recently on IFC, FYI, HGTV and UK’s End of the Road Festival. She loves cats, mythical creatures, riding her bike, smart music, clever and creative people, and snacks. She is thrilled to open this new Chinatown-​based storefront and is looking forward to working with you.
