$ 10 lunch! One of my favorite lunchtime spots in midtown east with a burger, fries, and a beer for just $ 10. Awesome deal, good service, good vibe, lots of tvs.

Great beer selection and genuinely friendly bartenders who care about what you’re drinking. Good folks and people from all walks of life.

Quick service, solid kettle baked chips and a $ 6 Cotes du Rhone listed on their happy hour? Sign me up!
I’m always a bit suspicious when I hear of a place that sounds like a comfy British pub but these folks hold their own.
Booths were comfy, their 3 bean veggie burger was top notch and it was rad that they give you a choice of a side salad over fries. I’ll definitely be back if I’m in the neighborhood!

Standard bar with a good amount of seats. Great for after work drinks and a bite. I got a burger, pretty mediocre. The Cajun fries were pretty flavorful.
Side note: if it gets too crowded they’ll send you next door to corner something. They share the same kitchen and have a large area upstairs.

I came here with a group of coworkers during lunch hours. Stag’s décor was quite amazing for the winter holidays. We made reservations and was seated immediately.
Stag has a lunch menu that comes with either beer or any beverage you like. I shared the Classic Burger with a colleague of mine because it was just that big. The burger was very delicious, I’d come here just to get the burger if given the option. The patty was cooked very well and the entire burger didn’t even need any sauce or ketchup. All the other food that the rest of my group had looked quite amazing also, big decent size portion which no one was able to finish, well maybe the guys were able to finish but none of the girls wiped their plate clean.
**Double check your glass of water to see that they’re clean. My coworker’s glass was completely dirty like it was unwashed and just filled with water.

There’s people yelling «staaaags head» at work every day, must be good. I heard the cheese on their burger is extra. Beware.

A great place for lunch in the heart of East-​Midtown. For 10 bucks, you get a burger, a beer and fries.
Burgers are served on a generous brioche bun, the meat is decent for 10 bucks, and the fries and crisply made with just the right amount of salt.
You can choose from three beers to enjoy with your lunch. It rotates, but usually consists of a pilsner and two IPAs.
Aside from the lunch, this place has a better craft beer menu than most in the area. I judge this based on them having the elusive Left Hand Brewery’s Milk Stout Nitro.
The place is usually empty — but even so, service can be hit or miss. Come when you’re boss is out of town so you can wait for the check a few extra minutes without worrying.

The waitress was very helpful with the beer selection. Roasted vegetable panini was delicious. The turkey burger was juicy not dry like some tend to be. The Cajun fries were crispy and not greasy at all. Highly recommend. Denis is a great host. Will definitely be back soon.

Popped in for a quick drink here. Went straight to the bar with a friend. Not too much to say about this place except that happy hour is $ 5 wells, wines and some craft beers (that I think changes with the day).
Most notable thing — the staff. Our bartender was extremely friendly and courteous, even giving us water with our drinks without asking. Extremely friendly and would come back simply for the service.
The drinks were good too.
Ambiance is very nice, and there’s a garden in the back, but didn’t get a chance to check it out. Definitely will make a point to do that next time.

Midtown East is not exactly known for their variety of places to go for after work drinks. The Stag’s Head, however, is a refreshing place to visit in the section of Manhattan filled with overpriced lunch spots, Duane Reade, and office buildings (okay that’s most of this city but roll with me here).
Happy Hour here is Monday through Friday until 7PM. They are a craft beer joint and the fact you can get a craft beer at a great price for a few hours during the week? Yep, I’m sold. When you first walk in, there are stairs leading you down and stairs that lead up. While downstairs might seem a bit small it surprisingly doesn’t feel that cramped, even with more and more people hanging out as the night goes on. There is a chalkboard on the wall, as well as over the bars, that shows which beers are part of HH. They have Gun Hill… It’s part of happy hour… That makes me very happy.
Service is pretty slow and really my only issue with this place. Our waiter did eventually get our beers to us but each round took longer than the next. He was also difficult to track down when we wanted the check. Overall, a (surprisingly) solid bar in midtown east.

A friend and I came here for a quick drink before meeting a friend for dinner. It’s a ok spot that did what we needed it to do.
Décor: There are several floors and they all appear to be relatively similar. We were only on the ground floor but there was a decent sized bar and plenty of tables (most of them in the back) if you wanted to sit. When we were there, around happy hour time, it was decently crowded. But it was certainly not packed full. They have a pretty solid beer menu of craft beers (if you like that sort of thing) but not much brand name stuff.

Staff: The bartender was cool. Not much more to say really.
Drinks: We had a couple beers. They were cold and… yeah, they were cold. Just what we were looking for!
Value: The beers were not pricey and I think they might have some happy hour specials (although we didn’t take advantage).
It’s an ok spot but I think I’d try somewhere else before returning — only because nothing really jumped out to me as particularly unique.

This is a review for FOOD.
I finally tried the food here. There is a tiny rooftop upstairs with lots of long tables and benches. Its great for groups. If you are here with a small group, there is a chance you will have to share your table with someone else.
We had a bucket of beer (5 for $ 25) — you can mix and match different beers on the beer list– not all the beers are included. I wanted the Ithaca Apricot Wheat but it was not included so I settled on a can of Grey Lady, which is good if you are a wheat beer lover.
For food, I had the chicken quesedlilla. It wasn’t bad, it came with a side of ok salsa, and ok guacamole. No, the guacamole isn’t as good as Chipotle’s of course, but at least they didn’t charge extra for it.
Our waitress seemed very busy and wasn’t able to take care of us. We had to hunt her down to get ask for the bill, and we actually walked around trying to find her just to pay the bill.

Went with about 15 people for a casual work happy hour and loved the Beer Garden upstairs in the back. It was peaceful and breezy. They have a couple fans going, the staff was super quick to bring us drinks, and it was a fun visit. Great beer, nice happy hour prices ($ 5 for a great pale ale) and just all around a good pick.

The beer garden at The Stag’s Head is a hidden gem! My girlfriends and I were in town for a long weekend and came across this place when searching for an outdoor patio. The food was excellent! (portion sizes are huge!) and the drinks are delicious. I had an omelette and we all split the french toast. Both were great and each meal comes with a beverage. The best part about this place is the beer garden upstairs. It’s very cute with lights and large tables – perfect if you are with a big group. Christian was our server/​bar tender and was extremely nice and attentive. We will defiantly be visiting the stag’s head again next time we are in town.

Brilliant craft beer with fabulous staff, they are very helpful in beer selection. Food is typical to a pub. Great rooftop setting as well. We go back every time we come to NYC at least once, if not more.

Ooooof Stag’s Head. I’m never coming here hungry again… the food situation is abominable.
In all fairness, Stag’s Head certainly has some redeeming qualities. There is a bevy of craft brews to choose from and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. The interior is rustic and charming with wood paneled walls and if you couldn’t have already guessed, there is a stag’s head mounted on the wall. I’ve come here many times for drinks and have not had the same beer twice, there is so much to choose from.
Last night I came in to watch the rangers game, and everything was off to a solid start. The sound was on the for game and they had UFO Gingerland on tap for 3 dollars. Nothing like a good old out of season sale– I’ll still drink it!
Then, we ordered food. That’s when the night took a turn for the worse.
We started off with potato skins. The potatoes were starchy and had zero flavor. The cheese wasn’t gooey and melty, and instead was burnt and dry. Broccoli was promised but unfortunately, was nowhere to be found. Still starved, we decided to share a crispy chicken wrap and fries. Right now my boyfriend is in a full arm cast, and a handheld wrap is a good dining alternative since he cant use both hands to cut food. The tortilla was SO stale that the second we both picked up the wrap it tore in half. The contents of the wrap spilled all over the plate and made it near impossible to eat. This was definitely really disappointing and next time I’ll be sticking to beer and beer only.

Went here for a friend’s birthday celebration and loved it. The service is great, the food is delicious, and the beer selection is plentiful.
My favorite beer of the night was the Allagash Curieux – I definitely picked up hints of bourbon and moderate sweetness. It was delicious.
The food was great too, especially the truffled popcorn and nachos. Easily some of the best bar «snacks» I’ve ever had.
The outdoor patio was really nice and I can definitely see this place becoming very packed on the weekends when it’s nice out. Looking forward to returning. Only reason for not giving 5 stars is that they could have at least given the birthday girl a free dessert or something considering the bill was over $ 400.

Solid for after work drinks in midtown. They have a happy hour until 7pm with rotating craft drafts and bottles for $ ⁵⁄₆.

They have an outdoors area with benches and tables that’s good for nice days. Apparently you have to reserve ahead of time to get a spot. No view, but pretty chill.
Only reason I deducted a star was cause waiter gave me a beer I did not order and claimed I ordered it AND agreed when he repeated it back to me. What really happened is kinda cloudy so I didn’t push to get my original beer (plus the one he gave instead was pretty damn good), but I just thought if you care about good service, it should’ve been handled differently.

Good beer. Good sports. Ok service. Good place to watch a game. Food is super whatever. Go here for a few brews and some football. Far better than their ugly sister bar Cornerstone. That place is a dump.

Annie was awesome, we had a big party and she was an awesome waitress! We ordered beers, mixed drinks, wings, spinach dip and the most delicious bread pudding! We had chocolate cake shots and the prices were very reasonable.
The inside was very rustic, reminded me of upstate NY or new England with the wood panels and taxidermy.
Overall great place to hang out with friends, catch a game on TV and grab some beers. They also have a cupcake and stout night which sounds awesome.
