History

Established in 2002.

Theredthreads began in 2002. It evolves from a tiny store front on the Lower East Side, making small batches of handmade linens in the workshop on site to it’s current showroom/design studio in New York City’s Nolita neighborhood.

In Asian mythology, it is said that an invisible, unbreakable red thread connects all those who are destined to be together. In modern times, the RED THREADS term evolved to referring to tying the red threads related to business, love, platonic and other connections, Theredthreads strives to be the connecting threads to a lovely and welcome home.

Simple, Robust and Expressive. «We want to design the everyday products that touch people and generate a positive feeling.» Theredthreads believes that once a connection is established between people and their living space, their home will become a place that is forever more exciting, inspiring and cheerful.

Meet the Business Owner

Leon W.

Business Owner

Leon Wong has had a lifetime love affair with nature. Although he obtained a finance degree, Leon joined TheRedThreads Home, a linen and furniture design firm, his sister founded in New York City, and was eventually inspired to create the company’s Modern Solid Wood Furniture Collections.

As a firm believer that wood is one of nature’s most precious gifts, Leon feels strongly that it brings the natural world into any living space; adding warmth, releasing stress and providing a healthier and more inviting environment. Leon wanted to ensure that not only did his collections feature the unique character and beauty of aged and reclaimed wood, but that they were environmentally friendly and sustainable. He believes unique wood grains and the warmth of natural wood make all the difference between having something organic and something cold and lifeless. And like a fine wine, he believes the wood only gets better with time.
