The Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theatre

For me this is where it began to make sense, when I was able to embrace The Meisner Technique. After obtaining a degree in theatre-​acting and a minor in early childhood education and taking other acting classes from where I hailed from, it finally came together for me when I studied here. From there I went to study with Phil Gushee at his studio, who also was a Neighborhood Playhouse alumni and former teacher from The Playhouse. For me it does not get any better than this. If this technique appeals to you, then this is one of the best places to study. The Meisner Technique acting book was my intro. to this and was one of the most clearly written books about this technique that I have ever read. Everyone has to find their own tools and technique, however I highly recommend checking out the book and the school.
