The Little Beach Bus

The term party bus is a bit misleading considering that I have been on party buses before (they usually include an open seating arrangement, lighting, sometimes even a stripper pole — ha!) and this bus was a standard charter bus with a removable decal stuck on the side. It had standard greyhound bus-​style seating and the sound system was problematic (if the mic got too close to another mic or speaker, it gave out horrible screeches — which I suppose happens with many mic/​speaker combinations but it happened so often it was just annoying).
As for the owner, her phone manner and email style left a lot to be desired. She came off hurried and at times even just angry with rushed/​irritated phone conversations and one-​line emails. It was to the point where I started considering not going at all because I thought she would be rude the entire time. To her credit, she was much nicer in person. However, I do recommend making it clear that your preferred method of contact is email and to respond with more than one sentence at a time. As for the concept of Little Beach Bus while I have a deep respect for entrepreneurs and I must say the idea behind this is genius, I believe the owner benefits the most out of this deal. She managed to find a way to have people pay her to hang out on the beach and have happy hour every Sunday (and I am not saying this as an insult, that my friends, is pure genius). However, consider the $ 65 Living Social price and what you actually got out of it, I still don’t feel as though I got my money’s worth. The gift bag consisted of a brochure for Little Wine Bus, a plate & knife, beads to wear in order to easily identify L.B.B. passengers, a bag of chips and a granola bar. Once at the beach, Tania got the beach bracelets paid for and you were pretty much on your own for the day. There wasn’t very clear instructions on a meeting place and time for happy hour or the trip back to NY, which would have been very helpful at the start of the trip because people like to wander. Happy hour was from 3:15 but the meetup time to head back to NY was 4pm. So even with a happy hour deal, I hope you are a fast drinker because 2 drinks, 45 minutes… GO!
In short, you get a chartered bus to and from the beach with a small snack and a drink or two if you are fast enough. For full price of $ 135, would I go again? Definitely not. For $ 65, would I go again? Probably not. Next time, I’ll just rent a car and split the costs with a group of friends.

Tania, the guide/​owner is an AWESOME person to have with you on this party bus, I guarantee that you’ll have an awesome day out on the beach at The Jersey Shore!
We got picked up at Times Square ~7:30am and the bus was equipped with decorations, music, bagels, water, granola bars and info that will help you start the day off right for a ride to the shore.
When we got to the shore, the beach entrance fee (which was very odd to me) was included, and Tania brought sunscreen, volleyballs, boogie boards and badminton racquets for our leisure… of course the boardwalk and the beach was not to be missed…~3:15pm…we packed up, changed and headed off to a 2-​drink happy hour at a nearby bar, which was also included in our package deal.
Of course, awesome ppl would add to your awesome experience, but who cares, go by yourself, lay back and have fun! It was one of the best things to do on a hot summer’s day!
