Definitely one of my favorite spots for hair care. I love the fact they carry alot of different brands. The different brands of natural hair care line is awesome. My favorite spot is the huge wig section. U can try em on b4 u buy em. Great to get a different style without damaging ur own hair

SOSMALL. I swear I couldn’t fit down the aisle. They have a large selection of hair if you’re in a hurry. I’d definitely recommend doing your research and finding better quality hair. But if you’re in a hurry, it’s definitely not a bad place to check out.

Naaaah, only kidding, didn’t get hair. I did however get some clips and a headband. Saw a lot of women at the back trying on wigs though. It’s gonna be one hairy 2015! These stores are always full of females, don’t the men get their grooming on too? I don’t like having to check the bags I came with at the door. I understand the security aspect but I still didn’t stay here long because of that. The End.

Do I look like a pre-op transexual? Perhaps. Do I look like a pre-op transexual when I’m trying on wigs? Most definitely. At least that’s what the odd looks I was getting from the staff said. But despite the raised eyebrows, they were still far more helpful than the staff everywhere else I tried to get a wig. Honestly, it’s probably my own fault for even going anywhere else before this. I mean… where do you go when you need some hair? The Hair Shop. Obviously. Now, I’m not in the market for an actual, everyday wig yet. I was merely looking to make myself a better Halloween costume. But this place rules either way: They have an infinitely better wig selection than any Ricky’s you’ve ever been to, although the selection is absolutely geared toward women. The wigs(and weaves, and extensions) vary widely in price, with the low end being very affordable even for a one-night wear. Also, you can try them on, and you don’t have to buy them as part of some wack packaged costume that always sucks. The staff quickly helped me find what I needed, let me know the color selection, and rang me up without an issue. They’ve even got all kinds of makeup, eyelash extensions, and other things you might want if you decide you look a little too good in a lady wig and feel like going the whole nine. From now on, all my wig needs will be taken care of by The Hair Shop.

This store carries everything from high-end brands to Jam. Every kind of hair and any wig you could possibly want. I only buy Remy hair from them because the product is right and is very affordable. The relaxers sell for at least a dollar less than the other suppliers, as well as other maintenance products. I live in Pennsylvania, and this is my store for hair care. As far as Asian watch-gate goes, the store is pretty crowded with little space to move around. There’s usually a good amount of people in there needing help or wanting something. I find the workers and owners to be attentive, not«watching like a hawk.» They want their money, yes, and they will follow you if they think you may leave without making a purchase. Lol.

Terrible discriminatory practices! The Asian workers here will watch you like a hawk! You’re in one aisle and as you go into another aisle and another, you see the very SAME asian worker looking at you condescending. These people don’t respect black people, they want our money! I refuse to come here again and suggest others to do the same. Let us open our own black owned beauty supply stores with natural hair products that actually work and run these Asian owned away! They don’t go to white communities, because they are not wanted!

They have everything I need, its clean and nobody watches you like a hawk as you peruse their massive selection. They have brands and products I searched all over for at relatively reasonable prices

This is a fairly new beauty supply store on Fulton Street in downtown Brooklyn. They carry some of the higher end products like Nexxus, Deva Curl and John Mitchell along with Dominican and other ethnic hair products. The prices here vary wildly just like the other stores in the area but all in all the prices are within a dollar or 2 of each other. They also have a good selection of the cheap lower end cosmetics and nail polish and wigs and hair pieces. One more unexpected plus is a huge wall of large colorful earrings for 1 dollar per pair. If you have sensitive ears don’t even bother haha. I like the store and recommend you visit if you’re in the area. Update 12−29−13 — I still like this store but have since discovered that their prices are a few dollars higher than some of the other beauty supply stores in the area so I had to take off a star. One particular brand of conditioner here was three bucks more than at Feel Beauty just down the street. There’s just no reason for the prices here to be so wildly different. So I’d check out the older stores first — you could save a decent amount of money.
