The Green Table is a charming organic, farm-to-table eatery in the heart of bustling Chelsea Market. Our daily menu reflects what’s freshest at local farms and Greenmarkets, and our wine and beer list is composed of sustainable, organic, local and biodynamic offerings. In addition to our classic pot pies, grilled cheese, and famed burger, we offer market fish specials, handmade pastas, and gorgeous seasonal vegetables.

History
Established in 2003.
The Cleaver Co., a full service events planning and catering business, was founded 30 years ago out of Mary Cleaver’s conviction that the best foods are are grown, tended and harvested within a day’s drive of your table. In 1997, Mary moved The Cleaver Co. into The Chelsea Market as one of its original tenants, and in 2003, she opened The Green Table restaurant, a sustainable eatery and wine bar where guests enjoy delicious dishes that demonstrate her commitment to seasonal cuisine.
The Green Table and The Cleaver Co. are widely recognized for utilizing local farms and purveyors in order to obtain the best-quality product, and for supporting small to mid-size farms and family farmers.

Business Owner
Mary Cleaver, one of the country’s foremost authorities on sustainable food and agriculture, is the president and founder of The Cleaver Co. and The Green Table in New York City. In addition to her reputation providing sumptuous food, attentive service and excellent event planning, Mary is also well-known for her work helping to create a sustainable and humane food system. The Green Table is widely recognized for utilizing local farms and purveyors in order to obtain the best-quality product, and for supporting small to mid-size farms and family farmers. On any given morning, you will find Mary at the Greenmarket, purchasing fruit, vegetables, flowers and much more from our local farmers.
In November 2011, Mary was named the first-ever «Snailblazer» by Slow Food NYC. She is a founder of the Farm to Chef network and a board member of both Food Systems Network NYC and Local Infrastructure for Local Agriculture, among other professional affiliations.
