Came here the other night with a friend of mine to meet up with a friend of hers. Didn’t really get the full experience of the Edge. Someone treated me to a beer and I watched half of game 4 of the NBA Finals while I was here so wasn’t really into what was going on around me but from what I saw the Edge is a very divey spot which for me isn’t my thing these days and wasn’t too diverse as far as patrons who were in attendance. Don’t know if that is the norm for the Edge but I doubt I’ll find out anytime soon. I don’t have any direct issues with the place itself but just doesn’t seem like my kind of place to get drinks but the people we met up with were cool and I can appreciate the fact that they have a huge TV to watch games and a pool table in the back. Other than that, there isn’t too much else I can really say about the Edge.

Went there on Saturday night(well, technically Sunday morning by that point). Great bar with a cool crowd, friendly and competent bartenders, big windows out to E 3rd, surprisingly clean bathroom, fun music, and nice décor. It was busy(as would be expected) but not uncomfortably crowded, and there are games like pool and darts. Couldn’t ask for anything more.

Yesterday, Super Bowl Sunday, as the game was starting the bar was packed. The bartender had vanished. People were four deep at the bar waiting, and waiting, and waiting to get a drink. No bar tender. Some people walked out… no shortage of bars in the east village. A guy told me he’s a regular and that this kind of thing happens all the time with this bar tender. He said last week she disappeared for about a half an hour. «Dude, It turns into a self service bar on the honor system when she’s on» he said. I watched people lean over the bar and fill their glasses off the beer taps. Most customers put money down as they did so. When she came back she unleashed on one customer then on another. They informed her they had every intention of paying and that some people had even put money down on the bar and walked away. She said she was away to change a keg, «I was doing that for YOU!» she said. My friend said she saw her standing on the sidewalk talking and laughing with another woman for about ten minutes. Maybe the owners shouldn’t leave a single employee on a night they know is going to be busy. Maybe she could have told people she was changing a keg. Maybe one of the regulars could be trusted to watch the bar when she’s downstairs… Maybe they should hire better bar tenders too.

Chill vibes with darts and billiards. Can’t really go wrong with that. I’m into it!

I’ve always walked by this place, but never walked in. The establishment is a lot bigger than it looks from the outside and it has an awesome selection of games. Plus, there’s a pool table! The woman at the bar was super friendly and it was a really cool place to hang out with a few friends. Also, the bathrooms weren’t completely disgusting, which was a perk AND the establishment closes pretty late.

When it comes to finding a bar that has darts and pool with a laid back vibe THEEDGE is IT! The bartenders are great, the atmosphere is super relaxed I can’t think of a real bad thing to say! i wouldn’t even call it divey because the place has modern art and is very clean. The place is really best summed up my Lady Gaga…“I’m on the edge… of GLORY… and somethin something yea yea yea.”

I come here for the dartboards and pool table and you should too. The Edge is a divey casual bar where it’s fun to spend an afternoon/evening drinking bud light and playing darts. The beer selection is meh, but the atmosphere is relaxed and you can have food delivered in. There are also a few large TVs playing whatever game is on.

Our local dive bar. Really relaxed place where you can waste away a couple of hours with Connect 4 and a beer and some friends. Looking forward to coming back soon for trivia!

hi Mike, pardon me for using a public billboard, but I don’t have your digits. are we still on for the parade Sabado at 10? do we need to meet beforehand to discuss my yeti costume, or should I just show up in front of Old Flattop in the a.m. BTW: I need to wear a panama hat and shades with the costume, because I am of Irish descent, and am very sensitive to the sun :) you have my contacts. thanks, Eric N.

I regularly bike down 3rd ave on my way back from the west side. I always look to my left to check out Hells Angels Headquarters at the hope of seeing something unique and have often gazed upon the many board games in the window. This past weekend I was with a good friend and we decided to stop in and have a Jamaican lager. We quickly made our way to the back corner and invited ourselves to play a game of pool with a group of girls that had just made each other brunch. From Red Stripe to stripes our pool game was on point. The atmosphere is unpretentious and everyone is outgoing, just trying to have a good time staying occupied while pissing the day away. The bartender was a classy lass offering shots after the tab was paid. Overall great experience. I recommend it to anyone without a plan that just wants to enjoy the company of friends and like-minded strangers. I forgot to ask for the girl’s number that lived across from Elsa but had never been on a date there, if by some chance you read this, send me a compliment let’s chat.

A care free bar — has a college-y feel. Nothing particularly struck me as unique about this bar but I wouldn’t count it out either.

I hit my first bulls eye here — of course I’m a HUGE fan: D Typical, fun, chill, bar. I don’t have any complaints. They have beer, they have unbelievably HUGE shots — omg that kinda killed me and a fun ambience. All in all It’s good and I’m a fan! Enjoy!

I lived around the corner from The Edge for a couple of years and as a result have a certain fondness for it. It’s rather indistinguishable from the multitude of other bars in the Second Ave-Saint Marks-Ave A-Houston quadrant of the East Village, but the bartenders are always nice and it never feels overcrowded. I’ve noticed that the draft beer can taste a little off from time to time, likely due to the taps not being cleaned all that often, so I fully support bottles in this establishment. On that note, you might have noticed in other reviews that folks seem to be complaining about $ 7 bottles of Yuengling and Bud Lite. All I have to say to that is … I never paid that much for either Yuengling or Bud(Heavy only for me, thanks), so perhaps it’s something to do with you? The bar has darts and assortment of board games and some nice windows for gazing out onto Third Street. There’s also a pool table, with which my only experience came in the form of a couple of games with a surly neighborhood super by the name of Benji, so player beware. Give it a try the next time you roll into Dempsey’s a block over and it’s jammed. They’re not that different.

$ 7 for a bud light. Yeaaaa right. Grab that pitcher of Blue Moon for $ 15 instead. At least they have pool tables and darts. Trivia here is good. I like the categories better than most places I’ve played.

Ok, I had to revise my review here. Cause these mo-fo bartender chicks really oughta be sent back to Jersey. They tried to pull the money bait and switch bs on friends that I went with recently. Some crap about the total is $ 31, then missing some drink, adding the drink, now the total is $ 51? I think they change the game around, but play with people to see who is drunk, and milk ‘em for all they’re worth. I really like this spot because of the pool table, and darts, and usually not too much attitude. But please beware of the games these bartender chicks place. They’re dirty.
