Teuscher Chocolates kitchens in Zurich today make more than one hundred varieties of chocolates using original recipes which have now passed on from father to son. We use only the world’s finest and most expensive natural ingredients which are blended together without chemicals, additives or preservatives.

Our chocolate confections are prepared each week and flown immediately to our store at Rockefeller Center and around the world.

History

Established in 1980.

Over 80 years ago in Zurich Switzerland, Mr. Teuscher embarked on his path to be one of the world’s greatest chocolate makers. Searching throughout the world for the finest cocoa, marzipan, fruits, nuts and other ingredients and skillfully blending these into his now famous recipes.

It has been however, the creation of the Champagne truffle that has garnered and been acclaimed, by both gourmet and critics alike as, «the world’s finest chocolate truffle.»

I should have stopped at the Duane Reade for Hershey’s. The overly expensive chocolate was dry and not very flavorful. I chose an assortment of different kinds from their champagne truffles to caramels, and they were nothing special at all. $ 70 for a half pound, and such a disappointment. The service was awful too. I was the only customer, and the salesperson seemed rather put out that she had to do any work at all. Why do salespeople at very expensive stores behave condescendingly to customers? What should have been a very special experience was a complete let down.

I absolutely love this place. They have the best champagne truffles I’ve ever tasted in my life and will definitely get the award for the best chocolate I’ve ever had. I also love their milk chocolate animals. They are solid, and I appreciate that. I detest when I end up buying a hollow milk chocolate ornament. I just wish they weren’t so expensive. The service is a bit spotty — occasionally, I get some very nice staff behind the counter, and some very snooty ones from time to time. Overall, this has been my absolutely favorite chocolate place for the last 30 years. One champagne truffle I believe, is $ 3.75. But it’s so worth the trip!

This stop is a special treat when you’re in the mood and have some «extra» cash. Very pricey, but worth it, IMHO. The shop itself is tiny, and given the people traffic on a cold or hot day and the number of people in the store at one time, it allows for close quarters. Don’t be shy and ask the folks at the counter about their wares — I’ve always found the in-​store staff friendly and helpful — to native New Yorkers as well as tourists. Don’t bother calling over the phone to ask what they do or don’t have — «in-​store» is the way to go.

Holly chocolate heaven with a price tag.
That’s all I need to say, chocolates taste like heaven with a price tag that hurts the pocket.
Not exactly sure how it’s charged but I payed $ 9 for two small chocolates.
The guy who helped me out was an angel, as he helped me pick two great chocolates of my taste. It was my first time here, he also had an amazing personality.
What attracted me the most about this store was their amazing fall window decoration and then once I was inside I was hooked.
Let’s just say pricey or not, this chocolate is worth every penny.

Overpriced imported chocolate. I tried four pieces of Marzipan chocolates and was underwhelmed. It was good — just not worth $ 112/​lb. or $ 12 for 4 tiny pieces of chocolate.

Close at 6pm… though I am so close to this place, it is almost impossible to get a sweet after work.
The decoration is super cute and attractive. All sweets are priced by weight, on average around $ 2 – 3 per piece. Truffles are famous and fresh, melting in your mouth! The staff is helpful and makes recommendation based on your choices.
So happy they have stores worldwide!

I have been eating these since the early 80s, when I lived in Philadelphia and was 10. No trip to NYC was complete without my hazelnut truffles. Now my kids are teenagers and we come from Florida and feel the same way. We had one in Miami for about a year, and life was good because I got my fix more than 3 times a year, but that was early 2000s. I buy about 10 truffles for about 40.00. So worth it.

Hands down. Best chocolate EVER! I’ve been going here ever since I was a little girl. It used to be $ 50 a pound now it’s over $ 100 and I still purchase. Amazing shapes & creations out of chocolate. Lasting flavors and melt in your mouth perfection. Just had some over nighted to me from NYC yesterday. TOTALLY worth the trip to grab some chocolates!

I live in Florida and googled World’s best chocolate truffles. I love truffles. Teuscher was number one on several lists, particularly the champagne truffle, which everyone raves about, even Oprah! So, my expectations were very high, especially since one reviewer claimed this chocolate makes Godiva taste like Nestle. I was underwhelmed. I was disappointed. When the package arrived, I was so excited my hands were shaking as I tore into the Fed Ex box. This is good chocolate, it’s creamy, it’s rich, but I prefer Godiva. Godiva’s truffles taste better to me. This is not the best chocolate I have ever tasted. A week later, I ordered another box, just to be sure. The gold and baby blue packaging were lovely. The box was arranged with care and the staff was very gracious and helpful, but I just wasn’t impressed.

Gorgeous floral interior which is a treat for the eyes located in the shopping alley leading to Rockefeller Center and when you get to the counter there are countless choices for a treat for your mouth, too!
The chocolates are a blend of the expected… champagne truffles… and the delightfully unique… Sicilian blood oranges dried and dipped in dark chocolate.
Pricing is what one would expect from a quality and location standpoint – about 150 a box, but these are not M&Ms you are popping in your mouth willy nilly. These are handcrafted, top quality candies to savor and enjoy and well worth each penny… or dollar as the case may be.
The staff was very kind and helpful in explaining the fillings to the half a dozen other shoppers inside who had questions and recommending nice combinations that could be enjoyed together.

This particular chocolate shop stood out to me and probably to most people as well because of its absolutely beautiful designs that are display by the windows. It attracts your eyes as I’ve probably seen 10 people passing by taking pictures of them. I thinks a great place to shop if you’re looking for something charming for a loved one or your friends as the pieces do look individually personalized. I took off one star because I do think it’s a tad bit overpriced even for great chocolate. A little chocolate bar that we purchased was about $ 10. Overall, great little spot!

I finish a box of 16 dark champagne truffles from Teuscher on a weekly basis. I’ve tried champagne truffles from other high end chocolate shoppes (vosges, maison du chocolat) and they do not compare to Teuscher’s. I like that the truffles are on the sweeter side vs vosges+mdc’s, which are a little more bitter and the centers of the truffles aren’t as… smooth. I know my weekly chocolate habit is expensive but there are pricier (and worse) habits. When they run out of champagne truffles, I buy a box of rose truffles. So good.

Thanks to Oprah telling the world about Teuscher’s champagne truffles a number of years ago, I happen to love their Bailey’s Irish Cream truffles even more. OMG, they are so sinfully delicious with a real splash of Bailey’s. Frankly, all their truffles are amazing… with a price tag to match. Each truffle costs like $ 3.50 each. Not for the faint of heart… or slight of pocketbook, that’s for sure. If I stumble upon a Teuscher store, and I have done so with a few of them, I always make my way in to buy the Bailey’s truffles. THIS location at 620 5th Avenue in New York is especially fun for me… not only do I get some of my favorite truffles EVER, it’s at a most awesome location… Rockefeller Center. Doesn’t get much better ! Come at holiday time to see some of the most colorful, splendid decorations anywhere. Exquisite.

The champagne truffles are excellent. While just letting the truffle melt slowly in your mouth is certainly an exercise in restraint, you’re rewarded first with a delicate powdered sugar coating, followed by the main layer of rich milk chocolate, and finally a refreshing finish from just a hint of champagne. Easily the best truffle I’ve had to date – quality ingredients combined to form a small but complex treat.

Teuschers chocolates are my favorite in NYC. They are great for gifts because of the unique packaging, and you cannot go wrong with the champagne truffles. The pieces are expensive, so while they make great gifts I wouldn’t come here regularly for chocolate. I think they have a good mix of white, praline, and alcohol-​flavored (they have wine, baileys, and other interesting alcohol chocolates you don’t see everywhere). I also think their salted caramel is one of the better salted caramels in the city and their pralines are very good as well. For dark chocolates, you might want to go with Jacques Torres because they have a broader selection.
They have a few good marzipan options as well, particularly the chili marzipan.
Unlike locations outside Manhattan, this store does not have a café with chocolate beverages (too bad!).

Who knew that an Asian girl could ever find chocolate that she thinks is worth $ 16 for a tiny box of truffles? In comes Teuscher. The champagne truffles are absolute heaven! My only grief is the exterior coated in powdered sugar (makes it a bit overly sweet) but then you bite into the smooth, light, whipped, heavenly center that is the perfect balance of chocolatey goodness and airy champagne. I have eaten a LOT of chocolate in my life and never had anything quite like this champagne truffle. Will be back the next time I’m in NYC and feel like dropping $ 50 on chocolate!

Beautiful chocolate shop.
Dropped by to try their Champagne Truffles. The employees are quick. The shop can get crowded. It is right in the middle of Rockefeller Center. I love the décor and festive colors throughout the store.
After taking my first bite, I was quite impressed. The truffle has 3 layers. The outside is a thin layer of light milk chocolate. The 2nd layer is a smooth and creamy dark chocolate ganache. Finally, there is a Dom Perignon Champagne cream center. The champagne center is light. The truffles are then topped off with a light sprinkle of powdered sugar.
I appreciate that the truffle was light, not too sweet and prepared with quality ingredients. At $ 8 for 2 pieces of truffles, I can’t say that I’ll be dropping by often. However, these chocolates would be a wonderful gift for that chocolate lover in your life.

Come to see the beautiful (maybe over the top?) floral displays in the store, leave with champagne truffles. Yes, they are expensive. YES, THEY ARE WORTH IT. Heck, buy the little box with just two of ‘em.
