I am a supportive psychotherapist providing respect and encouragement to every client. We will work together to identify the issues and obstacles that cause pain, discomfort and anxiety. We will focus on your goals; strengthen your sense of self; and improve your view of your life. You will improve overall functioning and communication.

Dr. Telfeyan has expertise in the area of trauma with children, adolescents and adults. She focuses on issues of anxiety and depression as well as adjustment issues to every day life. She will provide respect and encouragement to every client. We will work together to identify the issues and obstacles that cause pain, discomfort and anxiety. We will focus on your goals; strengthen your sense of self; and improve your point of view.

Dr. Telfeyan provides couples and relationship counseling, family therapy and life coaching.

History

Established in 2007.

I have been providing psychotherapeutic service to individuals, couples and families for over 30 years in California, New York City and surrounding areas. I have worked in the public sector and developed and directed programs for families, adolescents and children.

Upon obtaining my doctorate from New York University, I expanded a part– time to a full– time private practice in Manhattan and Long Island.

Dr. Telfeyan has her doctorate degree (Ph.D,) in Clinical Social Work from New York University and a Masters Degree in Social Work from the University of Southern California. She has practiced in the field of social work in both California, New York City and Long Island, New York.

She has worked in a variety of settings including inpatient and outpatient mental health and for child protective services in New York City. She has served on countless committees as an advocate working to improve services around the country for communities, families and individuals who have a variety of underserved needs.

She is an accomplished and respected clinician and adjunct professor, having taught clinical practice at New York University, Stony Brook University and Molloy College.
