Dr Margolis an outstanding doctor and the best I’ve ever dealt with in any medical field. She has changed my life after another doctor almost ruined my eyesight with bad lasik.
Dr Margolis explored all options to help me and when finally surgery was needed-​she was an excellent surgeon and extremely warm, friendly and caring. She was willing to see me/​correspond with me whenever I needed help or had concerns, and just was always available.
My eyesight has been restored and I am so grateful to Dr Margolis for everything.
She is at the very top of her professions.

Great doctor hobbled by staff who were rejected by the DMV for poor customer relations skills.
Pros: She knows her stuff.
Cons: Absurd billing practices (inflexible policies regarding cancels/​re-​scheduling and an absolutely absurd $ 75 penalty. How about me billing you for my time when your office is late? I assure you that my hourly rate is significantly higher). Staff is unhelpful, non-​professional, and generally unwilling to provide any assistance.

Dr Margolis is a wonderful opthamologist. An experienced, consummate professional who knows her craft well, yet a very personable and approachable, warm, and caring human being. My husband and I both wear eye glasses and have been seeing Dr. Margolis for our annual check-​ups and prescriptions for over 15 years (since the late 90s). Furthermore, she has solved a few ‘ocular mysteries’ by giving concrete advice not found elsewhere and recommended our current optician whom we are extremely happy with and have now been using for approximately 8 years. Very very happy!
I am receiving absolutely no favors for saying this. In fact, I am currently awaiting the bill from my last visit. Just a very satisfied long time customer. You’ll be in great hands!

Dr. Margolis cares more about her pocketbook than about her patients. Avoid at all costs.

I went back to Dr. Margolis because the new prescription she gave me was off. She ended up giving me an even higher prescription than I needed. I went to a different optho and he couldn’t’ believe how off the prescription she gave me was and how much higher she had made it.

Best eye doctor in the city.
I started having dry eyes around 8 years ago. Dr. Margolis was the first ophthalmologist who gave me concrete advice on how to treat the issue, even though I’ve been to a few doctors before (including a renowned doc who published a book on dry eyes!) She suggested two paths and when the meds didn’t work for me, she implanted tiny eye plugs that helped tremendously.
Not only she seems ultra knowledgeable about her profession, she’s a warm and caring human being. It is a pleasure to see her every year and I feel I am in trustworthy hands. What else can we expect from a doctor? I wish there were more like her.
ps: her new office location is much better and accessible. Warmly recommended.

Dr. Margolis is absolutely fantastic! Not only is she extremely knowledgeable and professional, but she is also warm, caring and approachable. She took care of my eyes when I wore glasses and also performed a PRK procedure on me. Now I can see perfectly with ²⁰⁄₁₅ vision! I highly recommend Dr. Margolis.

Dr. Margolis is one of those rare NY phenomenons… a highly skilled professional with a very warm, genuine personality, Dr. Margolis is extremely comprehensive and knowledgeable which inspires confidence in her abilities as an opthalmologist. But it is her very charming personality that will have you looking forward to your next eye appointment! I recommend Dr. Margolis without reservation.
