Studio 450

Don’t be alarmed. On your way walking over you may think you’re walking straight into your own episode of law & order SVU.
But, once you get in the door and take the elevator up you are treated to a pretty barren white loft with sweeping views of… construction.
The time we were there it was for a fashion show. Maybe the space is more charming for other events.

Came here for a wedding reception and had a great time.
Studio 450 is located in an unexpected location but once you step off of the elevator you’ll see that it is really nice. The couple rented out both the roof deck and the top floor (floor 12) which was pretty amazing. The view captures picturesque 360 views of Manhattan. Studio 450 is pretty much a blank white space so you can essentially create your theme from scratch. The staff was very friendly and attentive. There is plenty of room for seating, tables, dancing and even an altar as this space is huge. Rather than booking a traditional banquet this may be a nice alternative if your looking to throw a party in the city. The food was of very good quality as well. This is definitely a place I would keep in mind for the future. It is conveniently located near 34^th st so 99% of your guests will be able to get home via public transportation or Über without the worry of drinking and driving. I also noticed that when the elevator stopped on 10 that there was another smaller party going on. I’m not sure how many floors they rent out but this is definitely something to look into.

The views from this two story loft will take your breath away. I can’t imagine a better venue to host a wedding or corporate event. There’s a full kitchen, and management is wonderful. Five stars.

I was here for a wedding cocktail/​dinner last month. This place was nice, open, and with sweeping views of the city skyline on the rooftop which was really nice — the sunset over Manhattan was gorgeous. Since we weren’t the party planners, we didn’t get to speak with management or staff members so we are unsure of pricing/​attitudes/​etc. So what I will say is that this place wasn’t exactly that easy to find when we went. We literally walked around the whole block looking for it. There isn’t a huge sign indicating where you were. It looked like an office building from the street level. They probably should add a sign sticking out from the building that this was Studio 450. Another issue I had with the space was the rooftop. Please, please, please, watch where you are walking or you will trip and fall. That almost happened to me if I wasn’t watching carefully. The rooftop isn’t paved completely flat all around, so you will find certain bumps and imperfections all around. I get the whole, well this is a rooftop, what do you expect kind of thing. Well no, if you are going to use it as space for events, it SHOULD be leveled.

Maybe because I am still reeling off my wedding last week, but Studio 450 was all we could have asked for when looking for our wedding space. It allowed my husband and I to be creative in that amazing clean space when planning our wedding. We wanted a chic Manhattan space where we can create our little ‘Rustic Chic’ world. Jane, and the staff at Studio 450 where incredible in working with us to plan our big day, considering after my Dad’s death the year before, and how unsympathetic the manager at our original location, the Dumbo Loft was, Jane made us feel like she was truly there to make our big day special. Whether you have a creative eye, or would like to hire somebody to design the space for you… it allows you to design your own special world that represents you.

This is a nice event space. Large and open. But it’s pretty far west on a deserted street. The event Coordinators of my particular event did a good job. Most of the food was really good. Nice bar setup and great bartenders. But There are much better places to hold events in the city that are more convenient and in more populated areas. I’m assuming this place is much cheaper to rent and that’s why people hold events here. However free food and drinks and a cool informative work event was worth 5 avenues of walking and one block of sketchville. Id go again.

Heading down a side street that looks like you’ve made a wrong turn into some office or residential area, my friend and I were stunned to notice a line around the block of fellow Unilocalers eagerly anticipating their entry into the building. A few (surprisingly quick) moments later, we were cruising up the old elevator which opened into a fresh and pure looking white venue overlooking the most breathtaking sights of [arguably] the greatest city in the world. But the first impression to hit us was, in fact, the wafting smells of slow cooked lamb and melt-​in-​your-​mouth, tenderized Ostrich. Wow! Couple that with South African wines galore and I’d call this as close as Chelsea reaches to heaven. You see, while this lovely suite stages many an event, tonight we are here for the ‘BBQ to Braii’ event hosted by Wines of South Africa and benefiting Edibly Kitchen NYC.
The only thing missing was for the music to be live and yield to a small dance floor! Luckily, I’ve perfected the art of inconspicuous toe tapping ;)

Such a cool venue and very reasonably priced. It turned out to be a great party, everyone complemented us on our selection of Studio 450. The staff were very easy to interact with prior to the party to make sure all of the requirements were taken care of. Highly recommend Studio 450!

The space is nice. Though my fiancé and I felt it was a bit tight for what we wanted. I ended up renting another space but wanted to let curious brides know that you must have deep pockets to rent this space. The space I ultimately rented included the tables and chairs plus a roof deck. For this place to charge close to $ 7000 dollars and not include anything is amazing. Do not get me wrong if you have the money and want to rent there then go for it. I just cannot justify paying that type of money to rent just the «space». I could put a down payment on a home or even buy a used car for that price.

I really liked this place! I ended up going here because my friends and I had plans on going to a nearby club. That club ended up being closed so we just decided to go to this place. It was perfect. It wasn’t overcrowded like most NY venues on a Friday night and the music was awesome. I didn’t drink but my friends said the drinks were good and not watered down. This is the perfect place to go if you want to hear music you would hear in a club but not have to deal with the club madness. It’s a nice spot to chill with friends.

I was shopping around for a venue for my August wedding and came across Studio 450.
Ultimately, I didn’t choose this venue; it didn’t fit my needs as well as the place i did end up taking.
the staff was friendly and nice when i visited and i have no complaints there. The venue was pretty, however, the rooftop isn’t as… polished as i’d like it to be. Additionally, the indoor area isnt as polished as i’d like it to be too. its got quite a warehouse feel to it, as the floors are not hard tile, but linoleum with cracks and clear stains.
However, the space is EXTREMELY large and the price isnt too high. Also, just simply ASK for a discount and see if you get anything (i said ‘student discount?’ and he laughed, and took $ 50 bucks off the price just for asking)

As a guest of a fall wedding, I had the pleasure of visiting this wonderful venue. I couldn’t tell you what they charge to rent the place, but I was most impressed by its (modern/​rustic) charm and panoramic NYC views on the top level. Beautiful venue, overall.

Came here for a wedding. Thought it was a great experience. Good views. Loved the food buffet (glass noodles, salmon curry). Bar had a good selection. However, as a guest, I can’t speak to how the catering service was from an organizer’s perspective.

This is a pretty nice space for an event. Studio 450 is a two-​level penthouse lounge with great views of the city. Many of the walls are floor-​to-​ceiling windows so you really get that feeling of being high above the city (okay you’re only on the 12^th floor).
Building definitely looks a little older, but is decently maintained. Building age can be seen primarily in looking at the bathroom fixtures.
Main reason I can’t give this place more stars is its location. It’s close to 10^th Ave, so it’s a bit of a hike from the nearest subway (imagine how much of a pain this would be in 4″ heels). Also, the area is a bit deserted, especially at night. Lots of cars going down 10^th Ave, just not lots of people near here. Maybe a better option for a daytime event than for nighttime.
