As with most professions, chiropractic has technicians and a few artists. Dr Schram has a uniquely keen combination of both science and intuition. You can be sure of a sensitive and practical approach and a good neck adjustment! I highly recommend dr Schram.

I have been a patient of dr Schram for over 25 years. As a former martial arts practioner, and present yogi, swimmer, cyclist and aging baby boomer, I have suffered from a myriad of injuries, pain, arthritis and general joint and spine degeneration. No matter how bad my pain has been, Dr. Schram ALWAYS helps me to feel better. After a recent diagnosis of degenerative cervical discs and 2 months of failed physical therapy, I am happy to say that after 3 acupuncture sessions With Dr, Schram, I finally feel some relief from the pain. Dr. Schram is a true healer, an excellent diagnostician, and surrounds himself with a caring and skilled staff of massage therapists (mark waterman is amazing) to complement his chiropractic and acupuncture treatments. Thank you Dr. Schram.

I have been seeing Dr. Schram for over 3 years now and I love going there. He is smart and knows what he is doing and has many different approaches. I can usually get in when I need to and on short notice and he has also turned me on to some things that I had been scared of due to bad experiences in the past such as acupuncture.
He also is not one of those chiropractors and acupuncturists that say western medicine is terrible. He will encourage you to try many different things and is never forceful.
The massage therapist Mark that works out of the office on some days is very good as well.

Very strange! Dr. Schram was not professional during my visits (2 visits). When I asked him questions regarding my back pain, he would just smile and answer «How would I know?»
Did not take the time to diagnose my condition properly and «visits» lasted only a few minutes. No quality, in-​depth care to be expected here!

I’ve visited Dr. Schram on two occasions and received excellent treatment each time. Had fallen asleep in awkward positions and awoke with sharp back pain. Dr. Schram zeroed in on the source of the pain and I left the office 95% pain free (the remainder resolved itself over the ensuing 24 – 48 hours). Thankfully, there was no attempt to milk multiple visits out of the problems. Rather, the focus was on efficient treatment. Highly, highly recommended.

I’ve known Dr. Schram for years, he is an excellent Chiropracter and Chinese medicine practitioner, he has made a big difference in the quality of my life.

Dr Schram is amazing. I have never had chiropractic work done before and I was in pain — literally as I sat in the waiting room. After reading over my chart and speaking with me, Dr Schram went to work. I was shocked with how different and GOOD I felt after! He found the spot immediately and dug in. My shoulder is brand new., and the pain I felt in the waiting room was gone! He also un-​jammed my wrist and fixed my hip alignment. I love that he has the mind, body connection philosophy. He was completely professional and I will be returning. Highly recommended especially for yogis!

I saw Dr. Schramm recently and though arrogance is nothing new in the medical field, his unprofessional manner and boundary issues are a concern. A woman should not have to ask for a gown when told to take off her shirt. If the woman asks for a gown, one should be given without question. Instead Dr. Schramm said he «assumed I was wearing a bra» so. that I had to ask again. This should not be a conversation in any medical setting, traditional or alternative.
When I left the office, Dr. Schramm put his arm around my waist as if he were my boyfriend. This totally creeped me out!
As for the treatment? I had to ask for things I should do on my own. Should I take anti-​inflammatories? Should I stretch it? Should I apply ice? Seemed he didn’t care what I did. (and this was BEFORE I asked for a gown).
One last thing. When he adjusted me there was usually a pop. When there wasn’t a pop he still said «good, got it». Is that right? Didn’t seem he got it to me.
The staff is nice, the office is nice, and I did have some short term improvement from the ultrasound treatment.

I began visiting Dr. Schram after a back pain that was getting progressively worse from a slip on ice this winter. I can’t say enough about how great Dr. Schram is, he quickly diagnosed the issue and assured me that it would take time to recover but we could work through it. He is extremely professional and very friendly, I instantly felt at home with everyone that works in the office. I would highly recommend going to see him with any pain you may have. It’s now 2 months after my injury and I am 100% better, thanks so much!

We were visiting NY when my husband destroyed his lower back lifting my overpacked suitcase. Dr. Schram saw him first thing the next morning, and was able to alleviate the pain almost immediately. When we left the office, John was actually walking upright, maybe even with a spring in his step! He continued to see Dr. Schram throughout our visit, and each day he improved. Dr. Schram isn’t a back cracker — he’s an intuitive healer. He just seems to sense where the problems are, and what to do about it. Plus, he’s a nice guy, and amazingly strong.

I saw Dr. Schram after dealing with a hamstring injury for over a year. My yoga teacher recommended him and said he specialized in yoga injuries. Dr. Schram claims to lead an ethical and compassionate practice. I did not find this to be true.
I saw Dr. Schram five times in weekly appointments. Each week, he saw me for about 10 – 15 minutes, which surprised me because I’ve seen chiropractors before who saw me for hour long sessions, but I decided to trust in my teacher’s recommendation and Dr. Schram’s confidence that he would be able to help me. After each adjustment, he had me stand and say if I felt a difference, to which I often said «yes» because I felt put on the spot. I told him that seeing a doctor not covered by insurance was a financial hardship for me, especially after all the time and money I’d already spent on this injury. He said that now I was «spending my money wisely», that this would be the treatment that would finally work. He explained that sometimes it takes many appointments, but eventually I would find relief. I trusted this, despite the fact that all I felt after the first four appointments was slight, temporary relief that was usually gone in a day or two.
On the fifth visit, Dr. Schram asked if I felt any improvement. I answered honestly that I did not. He had me remind him of the nature of my injury (torn hamstring attachment and stress fracture in IT bone) and again describe the other treatments I had tried. While describing this, I started tearing up – it has been a long, frustrating process. Instead of providing comfort, there was a very clear shift in tone. Dr. Schram said that he was clearly not the doctor for me, that he had tried everything he could think of and that «my expectations were too high» and held out his hand to shake mine, implying I should leave. Believe me, I wasn’t expecting magic. If I’d felt even a slight lasting improvement I would have been thrilled. I asked him for recommendations for next steps and he offered none, except «maybe a homeopath», which to me further implied he thought the pain was in my head. He said he’d improved many aspects of my injury even though I claimed not to feel them. I asked him to explain what aspects those were, not in an accusing way at all – I really wanted to understand. He refused to describe them and seemed impatient for me to leave. He also suggested I stop doing vinyasa yoga all together, that it’s «for the young and healthy». I am 31, and very active and healthy despite my injury.
I left Dr. Schram’s office sobbing. Neither he or his desk staff tried to see if I was okay. A few days later, I received a letter from his office. He said he was so sorry he couldn’t help with my injury, and bulleted all the techniques he had tried, «all to no avail». There were a few items listed that I wasn’t aware actually happened in our appointments. Although it was an attempt at an apology, the letter had a formal and patronizing tone, again implying that the failure of the treatment was somehow my fault.
I understand that not all injuries can be treated with chiropractic, and if Dr. Schram had admitted this in a more compassionate, constructive way, I would have appreciated his honesty. I’m sure he has helped many people – he has a thriving, well-​regarded practice, but for whatever reason, that was not my experience.

I had a herniated disk that caused severe pain from my lower back all the way down my right leg to my ankle. I could barely walk. I did a desperate internet search and found Dr. Shram. He had me walking after only a few sessions. He does not just do the same routine with every patient. He has an innate ability to ready your body and cut right to the chase, with a treatment plan specific to your needs. He is sensitive and efficient. I highly recommend him.

I was surprised to see a negative review of Dr. Schram. Like the majority of the other clients leaving reviews, I have been nothing but impressed. I first saw Dr. Schram in 1999 and continue to see him periodically, as I work out with heavy weights in the gym. Occasionally, I throw out my back when not paying enough attention to my form while lifting. Often one visit to Dr. Schram is enough to solve the problem. Once, the problem was so pronounced that he suggested a try three visits. After the second adjustment, Dr. Schram told me I did not need a third visit. Two days later I was back in the gym. Trust me; Dr. Schram is a caring professional.

Never having been to a chiropractor I was cautious and skeptical. I took an appointment with Dr. Schram on the recommendation from a friend I have known for 25 years.
I had a herniated disc in my back which was pinching a nerve and causing two of my fingers to be numb. It was painful and annoying after a month of just plain suffering, I went to see Dr. Schram. After a few visits it was fixed. Well after the first visit it was pretty much gone.
I still don’t love the idea of going to be «adjusted» but when you need a healer I am pretty confidant in this guy. He really cares about making people better.

I’m a professional circus artist and I’ve been going to Dr. Schram for over ten years. No matter how I hurt myself, he fixes it. I’ve gone to him for everything from a hurt lower back and jammed wrist to exhaustion and sinus problems. He fixes the root of the problem, not the symptoms. If you have physical issues, go see Dr. Schram. He’ll fix them.
I also want to respond to the review written by Dylan f., who says Dr. Schram told him to get on pain killers and that he checked his Apple stock during adjustments. I’ve seen Dr. Schram for a lot of different injuries. I’ve never seen him check his computer during an adjustment (it really doesn’t seem possible). He’s also never advocated taking pain killers to me.

I first went to Dr. Schram about 5 years ago for lower back pain. I have never had back pain before and since I’ve never had any experiences with a chiropractor, I was a bit hesitant to go to one… however my coworker convinced me that I needed some help. I did some quick research for a doctor that accepted my insurance nearest to my office… and luckily that’s how I found Dr. Schram. He was able to pinpoint the exact problem and helped relieve the pain that same day. He was patient and answered all my questions which made me feel comfortable and confident in his experience. I went for a few more adjustments over the next few weeks for maintenance.
6 weeks ago, I went back to Dr. Schram for the worst stiff neck pain and spasms I have ever had. I was back to normal in about a week, and I believe with the regular adjustments I’ll be able to minimize or even eliminate neck problems in the future. I am extremely happy that I found Dr. Schram and would highly recommend him to anyone.

I woke up one morning with intense pain in my right bicep from overuse and strain in yoga. Not knowing what to do, I first thought of making an appointment with my doctor, but called my yoga instructor instead. She recommended I see Dr. Schram and thankfully I was able to get an appointment with him that day.
After just 5 sessions, I was feeling back to normal! I also feel so much better that I was able to find someone to physically fix my problem rather than prescribe me meds and tell me not to do yoga anymore. I’d definitely recommend Dr. Schram, especially to other yogis.

I visited Dr. Schram earlier this year because I had some awful back pain after traveling. It was so bad that I could barely walk for a few days. I was quite concerned with my condition and visited Dr. Schram expecting the worst. During my first visit he was able to assess various issues with my spine, the most immediate issue being a back spasm, and helped me over the next few weeks to align my spine and understand how to better care for myself in the future. I found Dr. Schram to be very personable as he addressed my concerns and very experienced as he got me back into good working order. It has been quite a few months and I have not yet experienced any recurrence of my past problems.

Dr Schram, along with a masseuse working in his office helped me work through some serious back and neck pain I sustained after a car accident.
I was really happy with the level of service, availability of appointments, and the nice receptionist.

Both accupucture and adjustments that he did helped me for a little bit. But then the original pain came back. And then he did something that damaged the nerves in my foot. So now I’ve cured the original condition (with medicine), but I’m still in pain because of what he did. I wouldn’t go back.
