I try not to come here despite it being just a block away from my home. When I do come here they almost always charge my credit card purchases, usually by $.50 to a dollar more then what I’m actually told I’m going to be charged. At first, I thought that these were honest mistakes done unintentionally, but after it happening almost every time I come to the store, usually to buy small items in a hurry(ice cream, milk) around 10 o’clock at night, I’ve come to think that they do it on a normal basis on purpose, as they never hand me my receipt when paying with a credit card. They seem nice enough but don’t mind cheating you out of your money in small increments– At least when paying with a credit card.

Great neighborhood market. Great sandwiches, fresh fruit, and super fast delivery. Takes cash and credit cards.

This place has excellent sandwiches, if you can communicate with the sandwich guy what type of sandwich you want. We kept getting a different sandwich each time we tried to order the same chicken sandwich, so we stopped ordering from there. However, this store stays open 24 hours, so it’s great to stop in when you are coming home from a late night or need to grab a few groceries quickly. Their produce can sometimes look much fresher than Gristede’s and they have a nice snack selection of you don’t mind paying a few extra bucks for them.

This bodega is one or two steps above your average NYC bodega in terms of cleanliness, welcoming-ness(yes, it’s a word), and product types(read: expensive, organic, etc.). This is not the place to go impulse shopping or your weekly shopping, as some items are particularly expensive. But if you’re looking for a premium snack, a jug of milk, or a reliable breakfast sandwich, this is a great, convenient store

Went there for a bagel and butter… The«butter» was some type of spread… but definitely not butter. Later I went back to ask why they advertise«bagel and butter» but give you some greasy spread. The counterman became angry and very uncivil. You should get what you pay for. Some have allergies to other spreads… A ripoff joint preying on the hurried… Never will I stop there again…

Are you actually reading a review of a bodega? What is wrong with you? This is my neighborhood breakfast sandwich in the morning/beer on the way home place. It’s convenient for that, like every other bodega in New York is convenient, because it’s the one near your apartment. I sometimes say«thank you» in Korean to the owners, but they don’t always respond as gratefully as I expect as a white person who thinks he is awesome because he can speak three words of an Asian language and is as narcissistically obsessed with himself as everyone else on the UWS. So that’s one area where they can improve. Also, is it just me, or are the bodegas in New York all renovating themselves? I don’t go to these places because they’re mini-Whole Foodses. Honestly, it would be great if Whole Foods would open a Mini Whole Foods concept on my block, because I hate having to go like 15 blocks uptown to visit the full size one. It’s almost a mile, and I either have to walk there or take the long block over to the B/C train and then long-block it again back to Columbus, since that particular avenue runs north to south. Such a pain in the ass. So John Mackey, do us all a favor. Stop writing libertarian screeds and buy out Gristedes, because they’re sort of an embarrassment. And now *their* owner is running to be mayor of New York! Seriously! Oh, one other problem with this bodega is they charge $ 1.25 for $ 1 bodega coffee, which represents a 25% premium. I don’t like that. But the breakfast sandwiches are cheap. $ 2.60 for a bacon, egg, and cheese on a roll. And unlike most places, they usually remember the salt, pepper, and ketchup that I ask for. I annoys the hell out of me when they forget the ketchup, because that’s really all I want to taste in the morning on top of my overcooked bacon. Still reading? I honestly don’t get it. It’s not like you’re going to travel to visit a bodega, even if they now stock craft beer, Chobani yogurt, and organic blueberries next to the decade-old canned foods and overpriced household cleaning products. When I buy anything else here besides coffee, breakfast sandwiches, and beer, I’ll let you know how it went. They take credit cards and also own the laundromat next door, even though they just starting claiming that they don’t. Street parking, but I’m sure the bodegas in Manhattan will eventually offer some sort of valet service.

This place is convenient, open 24 hours. Very over-priced. Every time you go in it seems the prices have gone up. Some things are old; stale popcorn and nuts. And one dollar for a lemon? I go in for coffee cause it’s faster and cheaper for a cup than Starbucks. Ok if there’s no other place open, but I wouldn’t do all my shopping here if there is an alternative. Maybe just a quick cup of coffee.

It’s around the corner from where I live, and the assortment of products is big enough for me to be able to get most staples here when it’s late at night. Yes, my friends, like any other Deli, they’re open 24⁄7 and I really like that. What I DON’T like is that since their renovation all they offer in terms of liquor is beer. I’m a girl. I don’t drink beer. I want my Smirnoff ICE, Mike’s Hard Lemonade or at least like a Bacardi Breezer. What I DO like, is the OCD staff member they have(God knows who it is) that will turn EVERY label of EVERY bottle, bag and can the EXACT same direction. It actually makes me happy to see that. Before the renovation it was all pretty messy, but man: These guys cleaned up their act! Staff is friendly, and the service is quick. That’s why I keep coming back. :)
