South Philly Steak And Fries

This is great, I guess, if you’re stuck in times square, and looking for something relatively cheap and quick. Not a «dining experience», but better than the tourist-​oriented places surrounding it.

This was a last minute stop before boarding to grab a soda and some fries. They were very very slow. It was annoying. I expect efficiency at an airport, given all customers are in a hurry. This is not the case here.
So, they wrap the fries in an alumni in lined fast food wrapper. This is a bad idea. The wrapper traps the moisture and the fries become soggy and inedible almost immediately. DO NOT get fries to go. If you can!‘t eat them right away, skip it! I can’t speak for the fries if you eat in, but they are horrible to go. Life Is too short for bad food.

This South Philly Steak and Fries is located in the Times Square Food Court along with other food alternatives (i.e. salad, pizza, etc).
So my friends and I decided to order cheese steaks. Mmmmm… cheese steaks. I ordered a PHILLY’S FINEST with ORIGINAL FRIES combo (comes with additional grilled mushrooms and bell peppers). My friend ordered an original PHILLY CHEESE STEAK (steak, grilled onions, and cheese).
First of all, my PHILLY’S FINEST was very well made and tasted great!!! I love grilled mushrooms and grilled bell peppers, which was one of the reasons why I ordered it (so did my other friend). We both ended up eating the entire sandwich, but we couldn’t finish the fries. The fries, in my opinion, were alright. I would have still been very happy if I just bought the cheese steak.
As for the original PHILLY CHEESE STEAK, do yourself a favor and just get the PHILLY’S FINEST if you’re a big fan of grilled mushrooms and bell peppers. It’s only a dollar more and it makes a huge difference in the flavor.
It’s probably not the best cheese steak out there, but it definitely made me a happy camper once I took a bite of it.
Warning: Since they make it very fresh, you really have to watch out on how hot the cheese steak is (it has melted cheese and freshly grilled ingredients), I kept burning my fingers trying to hold up the sandwich.
