Smudge Printing

Atrocious experience. I do not often write Unilocal reviews, but I used Smudge Printing because I saw there was only one negative experience… and so I hope in writing this, that this post dissuades anyone else from using this company. I called with specifics of what I wanted with a deadline of Wednesday — Leni promised it could be done. I had to call over 8 times over three days to check-​in. He would email me and say, «I’ll call you in 30 minutes,» and I would never hear back. He would say, «it will be done at 1 p.m.,» and I would call to verify this, only to be told it would take 3 – 4 more hours. My project was only completed when I left work and physically stood there, standing over Leni, staring at him, to motivate him to finish my project (on Thursday, a day after my deadline). His estimated cost was $ 25 — it ended up costing $ 78. I am horrified by the unprofessionalism at Smudge Printing and hope no one has to experience such awful service and lies again. Stay away!

Service was great and fast, Dolores helped me even though she had something else planned.
I agree with other review, the front of the store would never give any idea what’s hidden inside!

Leni and Dolores run a fantastic place. I’ve used them for very big jobs (production of a 3000 page document) and very small jobs (combining several .pdfs into one) and printed huge charts (2 by 3 feet). Everything is first quality. These guys work until 10 at night and every day but Sunday, so in an emergency, they get your job done. Prices are fair, market rate or better. And everyone who works here is very nice and friendly.

If I can, I don’t wanna even give this place one star.
I handed in my work on a Wednesday, the guy said I can pick it up on Saturday 10 – 4. I came by 3pm that Saturday, when he saw me, he had no idea what I was there for, after I reminded him, he said yea I totally forgot about your work… But he can get it done in 40 – 50 mins, asked me to come back by 4pm
I was ok, I just went get some stuff, but when I come back at 4:20pm, he was with another customer, my work was not printed yet and he didn’t even bother to give me some explanation.
I will not recommend this place to anyone, no matter how good their print is.

I got my wedding invitations done at Smudge. They came out fantastic, and the price was fair. I needed to get some original artwork scanned, and then I needed help incorporating text and a border with the artwork. Dolores helped me and was very and accommodating, not to mention fast — when I came in with my idea, she was able to create it in Photoshop in minutes. And then I needed to get these printed, along with envelopes and another small item.
This storefront of this place would never tell you it was a design and print shop. I’ve lived around the corner for years and didn’t know. It is not a stationery store and there is no public-​facing reception area … you just walk in and back to find a few designers at their desks.
