History

Established in 1992.

Founded in 1992, Shanghai Municipal Investment formerly known as Shanghai Chengtou (hereinafter referred as «SMI» or the «Company») is the largest state-​owned enterprise in Shanghai. SMI currently has two publicly listed subsidiaries as well as 11 private affiliates and subsidiaries. With more than 20,000 employees, the Company thrives in tandem with Shanghai city’s infrastructural planning, investments, constructions and operational agendas. As of the end of 2014 fiscal year, the Company has a net asset of 423 billion RMB ($ 67.2 billion USD).
