SIXTY LES

I can’t express my disappointment enough with this hotel.
For $ 600/​night, I would expect a lot more.
1. The TV system must use the processor from a Commodore computer as it is horribly slow and non intuitive. I just had to leave it on as starting it up takes five minutes.
2. My floor, while nice looking, was very, very sticky, as if it had just been varnished before I arrived.
3. The shower would be fine in a home, but it is so non intuitive that it is annoying. I know the trend is to have zero directions on consumer products these days, like your iPhone, but when they are totally illogical it is not appreciated.
4. The room was very hot. I would have loved to keep the patio door open all night, but the patio is shared with everyone on my floor, hence anyone one my floor could walk in my room if left open.
5. Due to number 4, I had to leave the AC on all night, and it is so loud that it was ridiculous.
All of this steers me to the conclusion that this hotel is basically amateur hour, but at a big boy price.
I have stayed at a lot better places in Manhattan for the same money.

Amazing customer service. Helpful staff and incredibly accommodating. Steps from the F train. Comfortable beds, soft linens, dark rooms and blissful spa facilities. I’d highly recommended this hotel and I’ll stay here again.

NEVER STAY HERE. The hotel tried to double charge my company for a pre-​paid room, and then put multiple additional charges on my credit card.
The toilet ran all night, and the thermostat didn’t work.
If you’re looking for a good hotel in Manhattan, this isn’t the place.

Alright. Let’s talk about this.
Pros:
— floor to ceiling windows for perfect views (and perfect instagram photographs)
— kind doormen waiting to attend to you/​open doors/​get your bags
— the location is good
Cons:
— the rooms are super dark when the sun isn’t shining in
— the furnishings are old (for example, i could barely get the TV to work)
— it feels as though they are trying to get more money from you around any corner. they are totally missing thoughtful details offered to make you enjoy your stay. where you should find those little surprises you find crazy upcharges. for example, literally nothing (not even coffee) offered for breakfast? instead, you can have a small pot of coffee brought to you for $ 15.
I didn’t feel overwhelmingly impressed by my stay here. I’d recommend it if view is your top priority, but for literally no other reason.

My finance and I always love our staycations in the city… our work schedules don’t allow us to go out of town often. Our first stay we booked the King Terrace Suite. When we arrived we were told that there was some booking issues and we were to be upgraded to the Penthouse Suite! Awesome stay! Very accomodating and great customer service.
Just recently we decided to book the Sixty Suite, very similar to the Penthouse Suite, for our pre and post wedding stay. I phoned the hotel to see if we were able to grab a discount since it was our wedding hotel and were booking for two days… spoke with Michael and he was able to extended us a few hundred dollars off our two nights and free breakfast in our room. I appreciate any attempt in trying to save us money and the yummy breakfast.
Hotel is hip, trendy and in a great neighborhood. Would highly recommend!

The employees could not have been any nicer. First rate quality people. If in area and needed to stay over again, wouldn’t hesitate to go back.

This hotel was absolutely amazing. The staff were friendly and very welcoming. The rooms were beautiful… The ceiling to floor windows (perfect to watch the snowstorm from).the black mirrors… spacious room… the bed was so soft yet supportive, the swinging television and my favorite the beaded curtain that separated the bed from the sitting area. This is definitely a place I would recommend and come back to again.

My fiancé and I came here for a mini staycation (we live in Brooklyn) to celebrate our engagement, and this place was definitely underwhelming. Similar to other folks who’ve provided negative reviews of this place (read those BEFORE booking here), we also came across the issue of having been told we were being «upgraded» to a room we had already booked AND had pre-​paid for. Earlier in the day we had even called to confirm that not only was our room ready, but our request for a high room with a view had been granted. The «upgraded room» we eventually got had no view and was on a low floor.
Because a room wasn’t ready when we arrived at 5pm, we were given a voucher for the bar upstairs — a nice gesture, but unnecessary because we were having to wait for a room we had already booked and paid for. We were also told that our room would be ready in less than 20 min. Clearly the voucher was meant to distract us from the fact that the place didn’t have it together because by 6p, our room still wasn’t ready. If you’re paying to stay at a location like this, you’re hoping to get the most out of your time there — that’s hard to do when the room isn’t ready until evening. The couch in the room was gross and through the night there was a crazy loud alarm noise.
Basically — we wish we had read the negative reviews BEFORE booking here because they are exactly the issues we ran into at this location.

This is the best Hotel we have ever stayed at in NYC, and believe me — we have tried a lot!
First, location is perfect. LES is the new place to be. Still safe from the worst tourist crowds but an overwhelming number of great restaurants, cozy bars and cafes.
Located close to the subway station it’s the perfect location.
The hotel is beautiful. Lobby is a little anonymous but one level up you have a lounge area and also the hotel restaurant that happens to be Blue ribbon Sushi (read that review).
We got a corner queen room and it was amazing! 15^th floor with stunning views both north and south which means both empire and freedom tower. We also had a large balcony. Rooms are large and beautiful! Beds are not soft but good.
The staff is really welcoming and attentive. Especially the guys at the door, Josh and Angel… I think. Overall you feel really welcome. Truly the best stay we ever had!

Had a great stay here. My fiancé and I found it on Hotel Tonight and they were easy to find driving out of town. It’s in a great neighborhood with many things to do during the day and at night. The bar upstairs was OK and the sushi restaurant was pretty good too. Really enjoyed the workout and sauna room. We will definitely be back. Room was spacious and have a good view.

I give the service 5 star! Everyone was so nice. My check in was easy. My bellman, Steven was so friendly & helpful! I think I’ll stay here again for the location. Surrounded by great restaurants, hip neighborhoods. And the rooms are actually quiet with a great view! Happy with everything, I even have a great view. I loved it. Will come back!

I have a thing for trendy, boutique hotels and this was exactly that. The staff was very helpful and the location is killer. So much good food to be had nearby. The floor to ceiling windows provided a great view. The bathroom was smaller but very nice. Over 20 selections in the mini bar at fairly reasonable prices. One weird thing was the sheets smelled like barbecue. could be a plus for some?!

I’m reviewing Tiki Tabu, the rooftop bar located at this hotel…
Great space, great crowd, great music, bad drinks. I went on a Thursday night and it didnt get too packed (which is quite unusual for a nice summer NY evening) — was able to grab a lounge area, so thats a plus
They serve their drinks in tiki cups which is awesome. The only downside is as a bar, they stink. They didn’t have much of a liquor selection and their cocktails are kind of gross (to my taste)…
The liquor selection here would suit a university bar… I asked for a vodka club (I’m a Kettle girl, but I can settle for Titos, but the best they had was Absolut…)
Also, if you’re housing cheap liquor, don’t price your cocktails at $ 15…
This place has a lot of potential if they just broadened their liquor options…

So me and My boyfriend stayed at this hotel for a weekend. Our room was on 8^th floor, just next to the bar and rooftop terrace. Which means that if you planned to go to bed before 2.30 it was impossible. The music were so loud that it felt you were in a nightclub yourself. You could hear a lot of noise, since the room is not isolated. This was a negative thing. Otherwise the room was nice and clean, great view, and comfortable bed. The pool area was ok, nothing special and would have expected more for a 4 star hotel. Small pool and really busy. If you didn’t come at 10 in the morning you could forget about sunbeds. The sun was only on until 3 pm.
Otherwise the staff in general were nice and friendly, nothing to complain about. The location was great, shops and restaurants around corner and also very close to metro.
So conclusion: ok hotel if you don’t expect too much. If you want to sleep then avoid floor 6 and 8. Could stay here again but expecting more for the price.

For the price, this hotel rocks, and not just because it has a nice pool and cool bars, but also because the surrounding area is so clutch. You literally don’t have to leave the neighborhood for anything, and if you want to go meet some of your hipster friends in Williamsburg you can even just jump on the train one stop and voila!
A very solid 4 stars because you really can’t beat the location. The neighborhood has something for everyone.

This is a review for their popup bar Tiki Tabu. Did a bar-​by with the bestie last night and shall return soon! I hope we’re still welcomed. We were probably the only ones there around 8pm (they close at 9pm on Sunday’s) so it was a nice way to get to know the staff! Brian, you were a true sport! Nas, stay safe in DR! Daniel, marry that girl! :-) It felt like a Caribbean cruise with the BMF from Guyana, the Trini, the Haitian and the Dominican. I heart NYC so much!

This is a review for their popup bar Tiki Tabu. It’s only around through the end of September, but I surely hope I can convince you to resist the urge to visit for much longer than that.
I keep my reviews free from hyperbole — it took 18 minutes for the first drink and 25 min for the next. That’s nearly three quarters of an hour standing at a bar as the bartender avoids any eye contact and hops around out of order. Eventually you have to ask yourself, what’s the point? Well, I did, and tried to close my tab. 15 more minutes with no card I pleaded with another employee who was standing around and he said he would «see what he could do». This was not a chaotic scene, there were maybe 15 people at the bar.
I get alerts on my phone as soon as my card is swiped. I got four, each one progressively higher. The final authorization was $ 72, mandatory tip force included (not even legal in NYC, look it up). I guess they decided to add more charges and didn’t feel like they added enough the first 3 times? They refused to provide an itemized receipt. The employee who went above and beyond to get the card sarcastically shouted «you’re welcome!» as I was begrudgingly signing.
On the bright side, the tiki glasses with faux palm trees were super rad.

When I was searching for hotels to stay at during our trip to NYC, I was getting discouraged by the options in our «price range» (trying really hard not to pay $ 200+ a night for a tiny gross room). I found Sixty LES and decided to go for it – it looked modern and nice without the ridiculous price tag of places in Midtown. Not knowing NY at all, I hoped the neighborhood would be OK.
We lucked out with the location! We loved the Lower East Side. Fun places to eat and drink were just minutes away – we never went to the same spot twice. The F line on the subway is literally across the street from the hotel. Don’t be afraid of the subway! We bought unlimited rides for 7 days and easily paid for the passes even though we were only in town for 5.5 days!
The hotel/​room itself was nice and sleek looking. We got a Queen Superior room and it was much larger than I thought it would be! Loved the way the room was set up! We mentioned it was our anniversary and they had a letter and chocolates set out in the room for our arrival! All of the workers were very polite – both at the front desk as well as the doormen. Everyone greeted us with a smile whenever we came and went.
The reason it’s not a 5 star review is that there were some noise issues… the first two nights I wore earplugs because we could hear the people next to us talking very loudly late at night. The 4^th night we actually had someone complain about OUR noise level and someone came up to tell us we had a noise complaint (really? We had the TV on LOW and we were simply talking before bed – nothing loud at all). The rooms are certainly not soundproof so that was the only negative thing. We talked to a family staying there who felt very awkward about the frosted glass shower situation (you can sorta see into the shower from the rest of the room – frosted glass is all that separates you), but as a couple staying there we obviously had no issue with that.
I would highly recommend this hotel and the whole LES in general! I feel bad for the people who spend their whole trip in Times Square and don’t venture into the other neighborhoods – there is so much to explore beyond Midtown!

My new bride and I had many of our wedding guests including ourselves stay here during our wedding weekend. We even rented the Sixty Lounge for a private welcome event.
The staff was really amazing. They were very helpful with big groups in multiple rooms, recommendations and accommodations. The space above the lobby is a fantastic little hideaway, the pool is great and the rooms are swanky, hip and have great views with the floor to ceiling windows. The location is really perfect; plenty to eat & drink close to subway and good for quickly getting to and from the airports.
All of the staff we dealt with were very patience and polite helping us get through a stressful event. Many of our guests needed to switch, upgrade and change rooms. The special sales coordinator and the desk staff were wonderful with helping coordinate all of it. If that isn’t enough…, they upgraded the room for us, the bride and groom! It was such an amazing surprise.
We had a fantastic wedding weekend and a great deal of it is due because of their help.

Sixty LES has a modern, contemporary feel but not very practical. For starters, while many hotel elevators require you to use a card for access, there’s often a sign that explains this. Sixty’s elevator had low lighting and what appeared to be a «knob» was the reader. I didn’t learn this until after being kidnapped by other calls to the elevator and then asking the desk. But it was the doorman Joshua who was most helpful and got on the elevator with me and took me to my room.
The room is mostly whites and greys. Hard edges. A small couch barely large enough to stretch out on. Big fail: no desk! I suppose one is expected to work from the couch or a chair.
The bed is soft and low. If you don’t mind cooshy and the feeling of getting off the floor, it’s perfect.
But the biggest fail: wifi doesn’t come with the room. That’s an additional $ 15/​day! At least if one has to pay let it last for the entire stay of the individual.
Phone low on juice? Forget about plugging it in and laying it on a nightstand. No such item.
Just seems that the focus was on style and not practical things.
