Sheva Thai Spa

I had the Gel Manicure here and it was so amazing! The atmosphere of the spa itself was relaxing and impressive, all at once. I didn’t feel like I was getting a traditional manicure, more like I was being pampered & relaxed in a lounge and happened to be getting my nails done. Loved that they used Deborah Lippmann nail polishes & gels! The décor is beautiful & inviting, and the staff are the happiest, friendliest I’ve seen in the city. Always joyful, you get the feeling you really are in Thailand, the land of smiles. I will definitely be coming back to try out the other services.

I went to Sheva for the first time recently. The Spa was in a convenient location, very clean inside, and presents with a very friendly and relaxing atmosphere. The Royal foot treatment was amazing! Definitely worth the price. I live out of state so can’t come weekly or even bi weekly but… I do come to NYC every other month and will be including this place in my visit/​stay there! I recommend everyone checking this place out.

Hands down the best place for a foot massage. They used a wooden stick to apply pressure to my feet. I didn’t expect it but it was what my feet needed. I got their Sheva Foot Treatment, which also included hands & arms. I would definitely go back.

The atmosphere feels like a spa at a resort– nothing like a regular midtown nyc nail place. Every nail appointment comes with a GREAT massage and the prices are actually cheaper than the tiny, dirty salons out there if you get a monthly membership. The monthly membership is $ 67/​month for UNLIMITED manis, so you kinda can’t beat that.

I would not waste time or money on this spa. The décor is lovely and relaxing. I waited 20 minutes for a technician despite having an appointment. The manicure/​pedicure took almost 2 hours to complete. As other reviewers have noted, the polish chipped and smudged within 24 hours and there was a very limited selection of polish. I used a Gilt certificate and can’t imagine paying full price for this service ($ 60). I would not go back to this spa, as it is a subpar experience. Within, one day my nail and toe polish looked a week old. There are plenty of over places in this area to get a better service for equal or less money.

I walked place this place to and from work and finally decided to stop in. They don’t yet have traditional Thai massages (what I was hoping for!) so I settled for a Sheva Mani. The place is beautiful and clean. My technician and the girl at the front desk as very pleasant and welcoming (which are the reasons for the 2 stars). My mani was 9am on Wednesday morning. I went straight to work after and once at my desk noticed there were patches of polish where only one coat was done. By the next day the polish was coming off from the tip of the nail and some nails were even chipping! I don’t work with my hands and my $ 10 manicures last a full week without hesitation. Upon further inspection I noticed the paint didn’t even cover the nail, side to side, on some nails. So disappointed. It’s such a lovely space with friendly staff. I will go back once they do Thai massages and hope they can get that right!

I don’t think I’ve ever reviewed on Unilocal before but I really feel the need to spread the word on this place after a wonderful manicure with Ivy. It’s a little oasis on a busy street and a total hidden gem. Yes, prices might be slightly higher than average but I think you do really get what you pay for. In terms of end results, my nails look equal (if not a little bit shinier — they use nice polish) to other manicures I’ve had around the area. It’s a totally relaxing experience (they bring you tea, use ginger scrubs, and are incredibly nice) and definitely worth the money! Can’t wait to come back!

I got a manicure and pedicure done here. I found the Spa itself to be quite lovely, with comfortable seating and good amenities. I was very under-​impressed with the organizational skills of the attendants working. Even though there were a few people free and I had made an appointment, I waited for 20 minutes for someone to begin a pedicure and that was only after I reminded them of my wait. As someone else mentioned below, they have the most limited collection of nail colors I’ve ever see in a nail salon. I had a very hard time picking a nail color as I did not like most of the colors in their limited selection.
As for the pedicure and manicure itself, there was nothing to write home about. It was exactly what you’d see in any other salon in the city. I did find the quality of my manicure to be pretty awful. The cuticles weren’t pushed back properly and were just painted over, which doesn’t look great. The polish was peeling by the next morning and two days later, every finger was significantly chipped. I won’t be coming back.

We got free foot treatments with the vouchers they were giving away during their grand opening. It’s a 30 minute treatment that has about 10 minutes of foot massage. If you like heavy pressure like Chinese tui-​na… you won’t like this place or their pricing. Mine was ok but my friend didn’t feel any pressure.
It was nice to visit for a free treatment + tip but I can’t see myself paying full price. It also seemed like the staff were still finding the beat of their drum. They had pants to change into, and had to pull the curtains on a room closed every time someone had to change. Why not just keep the curtains drawn? I also heard someone else who had a massage done and ask if she could change before her manicure so it doesn’t get messed up. That’s kind of a given and they should’ve offered. Also felt like the space is too exposed to the busyness of Lexington Ave. Some sheer curtains or something would be nice.

They were giving out complimentary coupons for a foot treatment and manicure, so I went after work for a foot treatment… so heavenly. The service was wonderful – they first take you to a room where you change into Thai pants, then give you tea or water while you are treated like a queen. Everything smells so good and is very spread and and clean! Can’t wait to come back for my manicure. If you want to tip though, bring cash if you’re using the coupons!

I came here to pamper myself during a rough work week. The service was amazing.
You really do get the Royal treatment here. They explained to me all the products they were using. I was able to relax and destress from a tough work week.
Downside is limited color selection, but they used quality nail polish so that made up for it. Also under their lighting I didn’t really like my nail color but when I saw it in my normal fluorescent office light, I really like it.
I would highly recommend Sheva to anyone in the area.

This spa is amazing!!! Love love love. I found out about this new spa when they were distributing their complementary manicure voucher.
The environment is very relaxing, with comfortable chairs and soothing music playing in the background, it was just wonderful! Heaven on earth :)
The mani was different from what I am use to, I sat in a comfotable chair while my manicurist sat on a stool and worked my hands with a refreshing massage and ginger scrub. She took about 20 minutes for each hand which delicately worked to make my hands nice and smooth (which also smelled amazing!) Unfortunately the nail polish selection was a bit limited, but I am sure they will have more selections in the next few months or so, since they just opened a few days ago.
After my mani was done I relaxed as my nails dried. The manicurist provided me with some jasmine tea and encouraged me to relax and not rush out. She also assisted me putting on my shoes (I took them off during the manicure to fully relax) and jacket not to mess up my nails.
They also gave me another complementary manicure after the service!!! I will be definitely coming back again to enjoy another complementary service. The spa is a bit pricy but worth the great experience. I won’t be going on a regular basis but will go occasionally to treat myself. I highly recommend this spa you won’t be disappointed :)
