Sevenav Fish Market has one of the best whiting fish sandwiches in Harlem. For $ 4, you get 3 fillets of crispy fish stuffed between white or wheat bread, with a choice of 5 condiments for additional flavor (tartar, hot sauce, butter, fish spice, ketchup). It’s so fresh that you can taste the sea.
They offer the standard fish market items of shrimp, clams, scallops, butterfish, flounder, red snapper, etc, all of which you can order fried or steamed. Seriously, amazing stuff for cheap.
The only drawback comes from the nature of a seafood market, that is, the lack of any place to sit. But that’s just a little blip in the greatness of Sevenav. I really don’t mind standing up and devouring my sandwich. Hell, I eat it as I’m walking back home, so impatient I am for fried fish!
