Security For America

This place seems to shady to me. Just got off the phone with a girl called Hana and they wanted me to bring $ 100 and an ID with me. Not going big scam. Went to agency two years ago near Brian Park and they wanted same thing. The company name has changed and the location has changed but the game is till the same!!! Take your money and give you hopes and dreams … never living up to them!!! Please be weir!!!

Just got a call from «Jasmine» about a security position, I would just need to sign up for classes to get my licence, which would cost a flat $ 100. Incidentally, they only accept cash or money order. (RED FLAG)
I asked «Jasmine» how she found my resume‘, and a few times she tried pretending she heard a different question altogether (RED FLAG). I kept at it, and she started getting huffy. I asked her to repeat the company name, and she ran it off fast, I asked again, same thing. I asked her to spell it out, dead silence (RED FLAG).
I looked up «SF America» and couldn’t find them for a while (RED FLAG). Finally find a webpage, and it’s so generic, ANYBODY could have made this from home. And even the website didn’t list their address (RED FLAG). When I looked up the address, it immediately says «scam» in the search bar. I look at the Unilocal reviews… ALL NEGATIVE.
Ahhhh, the perks of NOT acting desperate for work.

Thank Heavens for Unilocal.I too received a similar phone call today from «Jessie». But I smelled a rat when I asked to bring $ 100 in case I was hired so I could take a security course. Thanks to the comments posted here, my suspicions were confirmed.

This is my second review, my first one was made almost 2 years ago but for some reason Unilocal took it down. I went back for my renewal classes this year. There are a lot of reviews here from people who have never even used the schools services, my suggestion is that you try it before you knock it. You have to pay for classes at any school. I don’t know about other people but I am satisfied with their services. I have been using this company for my security training for almost 2 years now and it is really good. They have a great instructor.

Wow, a call back within less than an hour of submitting my resume? Is it my lucky day? Nope. Spoke to a gentleman by the name of Mr. Burgos on the phone who said I would have to enroll in a class for a hundred bucks to obtain some sort of security certificate. I vaguely recalled seeing something about either their shenanigans or a similar shell game on a PIX 11 Help Me Howard segment from awhile ago.
In response to the polite but evident trickery at work, I told Mr. Burgos that I did not have the means to pony up that kind of money at the moment to which he said «well if you happen to cone across the hundred dollars, you have my phone number.» I looked them up on Unilocal and my suspicions were confirmed. I feel bad for those individuals who were taken by these fraudsters. They post on Craigslist promising an instant hire but instead, choose to deceive and capitalize off the desperation of people who are seeking gainful employment. Stay away!

Total scam. Got a call for a job I did not apply for, told «Mr. Daniels» that I had no security experience or training and was unlicensed. He said that was all fine and asked me to bring my ID, Social Security card, and $ 100 cash. Thank god I looked up the address he gave me because every link I clicked on led to a page full of people with similar stories to mine.

Ms Garcia call me for an interview… the cost of the interview was $ 100. I didn’t go to interview because it was kind of weird charge for an interview. She call me the next day because I miss the interview and she start insulting me over the phone… I just hung up because she was nasty and unprofessional… if you receive a call from this number 1−347−356−8980 that’s her!

Glad I did some research.
I applied for a desk attendant job for «Manhattan Vocational School» which I looked up and found no information on. Nothing but job postings on multiple sites matching the one I applied for on Indeed. Strike one.
I received a call from «Hana» today regarding my application. She asked me a series of basic questions that are usually on a job application. Then, she asked me if I had any security certification. Obviously, if I did, it would have been on my resume. Strike two.
Hana then proceeded to give me a date, time and location for my interview, as well as letting me know I would need to bring $ 100 for my 3-​day training. Um… no. Strike three.
As soon as I got off the phone with «Hana» I googled the address she gave me and BAM: Unilocal reviews about how much of a scam this place is.
Shame that people are working so hard to find a job and companies like this are set up to steal what little money we do have

Thank goodness for Unilocalers! i applied for a job and got a missed call and tried to find the number 6 469 983 222 and what company it is but couldn’t. I called back and spoke to a Mr. John and he went through the list of questions fast.
He didn’t care what my credential was and told me to bring id and $ 100 for the 3-​day training. I just got off the phone with him and thought it was a bid shady, so I googled the address he provided for me and led me here. Thank you Unilocalers! saved me the trip and money going there.

Oh please, this is a school that offers you their lowest cert over the phone, but will really push you to buy the whole deal. If you are Interested in being a security guard, go for it. Otherwise, this is not a job, just a training place. You are better off receiving training at a local college or little place near u. No need to go to NYC for the same thing you can get where you live.

Don’t pay $ 400 dollars it’s a scam. Please people be smart! I got a call today and when I told them I wasn’t going to pay they hang up on me.

Same here! Went in for an interview, was promised at least $ 17 an hour and gave them $ 100 to «reserve» a seat in the classroom! Turned out I was going to pay (which I did not thank God) $ 600 more to attend the training! 9 – 5 for 3 days basically paying myself a generous $ 25 an hour to be trained by who knows who now! Instead of going in every morning to make this money!

This is a shame and it needs to be stopped! I want my MONEY back and found a link on youtube willing to help! But pple have to come forward to tell authorities what really is going on!

Be forewarned. THIS PLACE IS A SCAM! They will charge you over $ 400 in fees to become a security guard. They will tell you you’ll be making $ 17 an hour plus benefits. All lies! Security guards only make around $ 8-​$ 10 an hour. These people are very dishonest and prey on honest people who are needing jobs these days.
