History

Established in 2008.

Like a lot of good things, it all started with an itch.

This itch was the result of a most inopportune rash. Om Aroma & Co.™ founder, Angela Jia Kim, was preparing to step on stage in her role as touring concert pianist, when she developed an allergic reaction to a body lotion she applied just before her performance.

Back in her hotel room, Angela read the label on the rash-​inducing lotion and counted 55 ingredients, most of which were chemicals. Two family members had recently been diagnosed with cancer, leading her to question the long-​term effects of chemicals in items most of us use every day.

Motivated by a passion for organic living, Angela resolved to create chemical-​free skin care products made from pure organic ingredients. Experimenting in her Manhattan kitchen and applying the same rules for perfection that made her a successful pianist, she created the perfect skin cream after one thousand tries.

It’s a beautiful day, so I decided to take a walk in Greenwich Village on my lunch break. I walked by Savor Spa and it looked really cute and welcoming. I decided to walk in and make an appointment for a facial. My experience was fabulous. As I was in their lounge area, I felt inspired by the inspirational sayings that were on the wall and was encouraged to take a break, slow down, and breathe. I really enjoyed my time there. The thing I liked best about this place is that everything is organic. Later on, I learned that the spa is owned by a woman. The owner was inspired to create products that are healthy for women. That made me feel even better about being there. The esthetician gave me a great facial. It felt like my skin was new and rejuvenated. I really like the organic skincare products by her company, Om Aroma & Co, that they used. I’m so grateful for the owner of this spa to create such great products for women. The time I had there was really wonderful, and I’m looking forward to going back there for my acupuncture face lift. I’m also looking forward to trying their eco-​chic make up, or even getting a deep tissue holistic massage. I went home with their organic lip balm and found out that they have a spa membership club, so you can join their club and get discounts for facials and their services. I highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to be healthy and beautiful and creative. When you go there, you feel so inspired to be amazing, both inside and out.

Went to Savor after researching organic spas in lower Manhattan and had a great experience. The ambience was really cute and much less clinical and sterile than other spas. Erin took care of me right away and was very thorough. I loved all of the products and she was amazing throughout the entire process, especially the extraction. Definitely can’t wait to rebook with her and use my new organic products!

Update: A year later, I still go here. On a monthly basis (I do the monthly members club which is GREAT if you like microdermabrasion every month). Liz is STILL MY GIRL — but book her in advance, there is quite often a long wait to get under those magical hands of hers. She gives the most gentle extractions, and the BEST neck and shoulder massage!!! Her and their products are what keep me coming back on a monthly basis. She is just so sweet and knowledgeable of skin in general.
I get compliments left and right on my skin — my bathroom cabinet is essentially the entire line of Om Aroma. You just cannot BEAT these products… they’re organic, and actually feed your skin. I love putting the serums on my face, and the manuka honey mask is GREAT for travel and spot treatments. Nonetheless, they all smell so good too.
Only suggestions would be their exfoliator — it comes in a jar which tends to easily spill out if you aren’t careful. It requires a small spatula to help this — but I think a new dispenser design would be more than helpful. Other dry exfoliators tend to come in a bottle with a smaller spout which I think would be helpful with this product specifically.
i’d love to see them carry a Hyaluronic serum of some sort as well.
Nonetheless, I won’t stop coming here. All the girls who work there, are beyond sweet and accommodating — this coupled with how CUTE the store/​spa is, are other reasons why I continue to come here month after month, and why I recommend this wonderful establishment to everybody!

The store itself is adorable and cozy. They carry a lovely selection of skincare products (their own line), a few different organic makeup lines, and some cute accessories. The service room is decorated with so much care that it’s impossible not to feel immediately relaxed.
Following the best facial of my life, my esthetician escorted me to the front and filled out a little card with her recommendations for skincare products for my specific concerns and walked me through each product and even put together a couple samples that I could try (and get addicted to). On the back of the card there is an area to fill out lifestyle recommendations and since I obviously make incredible life choices, all she had to write was «8 glasses of water a day». Also included is a really helpful list of ingredients to avoid. If you’re into not putting extremely harmful chemicals on your skin and seeing real results, I recommend taking a peek at that guide and booking all your spa appointments here.
I bought the purify face cleanser which is absolutely magical and the pumpkinseed renew serum which is a dream. Definitely on the pricey side but you’re paying for great quality and supporting a local business! Stimulate that economy, girl!

I love going to the spa as a special treat for myself. I’ve tried a few places around the city, but this place is by far my favorite. This place is cozy and cute, and the people who work here are always so friendly during my visits. I love their skincare line and Elizabeth is my go-​to esthetician for facials. She always makes me feel relaxed, and my skin feel soft and smooth for days after. If you book an appointment at this place, ask for her! I also bought their face wash, rose toner and pumpkin serum for my own daily use. Yes, they were pricey, but the products lasts for a while (mine lasted for about 6 months). This place is worth every penny!

I love this skincare line, I’ve been using many of the products for close to a year now and they are wonderful. I’m addicted to the carrot rose serum. I love that I don’t have to worry about what I’m lathering on my face — the ingredients are simple and organic. I have super sensitive skin and have had no issues with any of the products.
For massages, it does not get any better than Erika.

I have been to the one in Woodstock, and I use their products, so I stopped in for a facial at this location, and to buy more face wash. Facial was with Stephanie who is really great — I walked out with glowing skin that lasted for days! Their products are seriously the best — I use their face wash (the pearl one is super gentle, the champagne one a little more «active» but also very good), I use their rose toner (refreshing, smells great, and I feel it really tightens my pores and fine lines), I use their rice bran (gentle scrub you put in the face wash), I use their champagne face cream, and also their pumpkin serum (also great for fine lines) — I feel like this is the best routine for my skin I’ve found in a really long time. The products are on the pricey side, but a very little amount goes a super long way (my face wash and toner lasted over 6 months), and you can’t put a price on efficient and organic limited ingredient stuff!

I have never reviewed on Unilocal before, but had to because this place is so amazing! I just moved to New York and needed to find a new spa. I actually found them by reading all of the great reviews on Unilocal!
I love this place so much and for many reasons. The first is the AMAZING Erika who gives the most incredible massage I have ever had, and I’ve had many. She is very knowledgable about the body and gives you a massage that addresses your specific needs. She is truly gifted, I highly, highly recommend her. You might have to wait a couple of weeks to get in, but it’s totally worth the wait.
I have also had two facials by Cailey, who is also excellent. My skin improved immediately after my first facial. Again, she tailors your facial to your skins’ needs and is very sweet and thoughtful.
The third reason I love this place is that THEY ARE SO FRIENDLY AND WELCOMING! They actually remembered my name the second time I came in. They offer you tea or water the minute you arrive, it’s a very inviting and comfortable place to be.
And the fourth and last reason I love it is the Om Aroma products, which are all natural and really wonderful. So soothing and they work!
So go there, you won’t regret it, I promise!

This is my first review but I couldn’t not write about this place because I love it! I just moved over from London and with the cold weather my skin has been really bad. From the moment I called up the receptionist (Tara I think is her name) was super helpful and friendly. I booked an appointment with Jackie for a cranberry peel facial and it was the best facial I have had. Jackie knows what she’s talking about and is incredibly professional she talked me through each stage and explained what she was using on my face and why. She gave me an excellent skin consultation after to help me keep my skin under control during my first harsh New York winter.
Love this place and would definitely recommend it to anyone and everyone.

My review is for an esthetician who helped me. Her name is Elizabeth.
I was contemplating the idea of getting whatever a facial entails prior to my wedding. I went in with low expectations. Perhaps there will be some kind of exfoliant. Or beads made from peaches, I thought to myself. When I arrived Ms. Elizabeth began to explain to me the, to my surprise, very thorough process that was before me. I lost count how many times she said the word Dermis. The number was high. I walked into a room with clouds that were captured somehow and entrapped/​enslaved for my comfort. The facial began and and I began to feel my face tingle. Then another layer followed my more peels. Elizabeth, the whole time coached me through everything and narrated the products being used and their effects. The whole process took 30 minutes. I have to say it was very invasive and yet comforting. I will include this in my health tips.

Absolutely love this spa! I have been to Savor Spa three times now and ended up signing up for their membership. Allyn conducted my facial, she was super nice and approachable. She asked thorough questions and really listened to my issues and was very knowledgeable and responsive to all my questions. I felt like everything was customized to me!
I saw improvements in my skin right away, and with each repeat visit those improvements only got better. I’ve purchased several of their products and am now using the entire skincare line and my face is glowing! I love how everything is natural and organic!
Savor Spa definitely is a must for anyone who is looking for a one time facial or would like to get get into a better skincare régime. I can’t wait to go back and try other services now that I have my membership!

After a three weeks of travel (total of 7 flights), I desperately needed a facial! Travel and flying tend to wreak havoc on my skin so on my last stop before heading home, I decided to give my skin the TLC it needed. I had a wonderful facial with Elizabeth. She was so thorough with the facial (I needed a lot of extractions to get that travel gunk out) and her neck massage was to die for! I left with glowing, beautiful skin and feeling so relaxed! I wished I lived in NYC so I could treat myself to their facials more often. Hopefully I can stop by on my next NYC visit.
Also, I love their products, they are natural and not tested on animals which is super important to me. Lucky for me, they sell them online so I can still purchase them from home.

A tiny gem of a spa that has wonderful skin products and an amazing massage therapist named Erika. I suffered with positional vertigo for almost 6 months prior to my first massage with Erika. She begins each session with asking what it is that you wish to address. When I told her of my issue she responded by stating she could take care of that. The way she massaged my head and neck was incredible, and much to my surprise I left savor spa without positional vertigo. The best part is that it has never returned. I can’t say enough about how wonderful and professional Erika is. This spa may not be the most glamorous but it is simply the best.

Just finished a vitamin c facial with Allyn and it was wonderful! She’s new to the salon and offering 50% off services throughout August. I definitely recommend coming to see Allyn; she was very educated and told me the exact information I needed to know. It was such a relaxing experience and I’ve already rebooked for next time.

If the prices aren’t this steep and if the location isn’t so far away from my apartment, I would be here every single week.
I bought a facial off of Gilt city a few month ago and had the most wonderful experience at Savor. The aesthetician was very knowledgeable and treated my skin with kindness. The extractions were the least painful extractions I’ve ever experienced. The products were also very high quality. I left the spa glowing and wanting more.
I ended up purchasing several products from their Om store to use at home: the rose toner, the white truffle face cream, and the pumpkin serum. They were pricey but very effective and have lasted for a long time.
I am looking forward to trying out more services and products from Savor/​Om in the future!

I have gotten a ton of facials before but this was special. First of all, the experience was very spa like, not medical like some places I have been to. The décor was very serene and comforting. I was welcomed by Alexis my facialist and then it was pure bliss from there on. She was so gentle and thorough at the same time. She talked when I wanted and seemed to know instinctively when I just wanted to chill and be quiet. Ahhh, that is a big plus in my book. The products she used on my face smelled so good. I loved how warm towels were used on my face during the facial. It felt really luxurious. When I had a comment about my skin, Alexis listened and adjusted the facial to my needs. Brownie points for sure. Oh did I mention the mini neck massage? At the end, my skin was glowing and my experience got topped off with a hot cup of tea. How can I not love this place?
I would have never expected such an awesome facial in such a small spa but once you walk past the store in the front, you enter into another universe. Loved it!

I was gifted a facial for Savor Spa a few months ago and what a gift, I desperately needed one, my skin was looking tired and dehydrated.
Heading down to Savor Spa, I didn’t know what to expect, having never been here before and to my delight, it was an incredibly charming spa and boutique filled with delicious eco skincare and makeup.
Everything about this place was sweet, warm, cozy and charming — the store, the staff, my experience. But more importantly, I walked out of there with beautiful glowing skin. I got the power enzyme peel from their recommendation and it was totally what I needed. My esthetician was fabulous and did a fantastic job of really cleaning my pores and leaving my skin plump and beautiful. This is a feat because I have super sensitive skin and almost always after a facial, I break out into a hive or my skin just looks jacked-​up for a day. I think this has to do with the care of my esthetician and the quality of the products she used.
I highly recommend this wonderful place and I’m looking forward to my next facial, very soon!
