Satya Jewelry

I have several pieces of Satya jewelry and have always bought pieces as gifts, however due to my most recent experiences with their customer service involving online orders I will never but another item. I purchased a ring that was on sale and the ring I received was defective. I emailed customer service and left a message and no response for over a week so I called and spoke with Racquel. She was not very nice and they didn’t have another ring to exchange it for and they can’t refund me the only thing they can do is give me a gift card. Absolutely ridiculous customer service policy. So a week later I placed another order and spent the gift card plus $ 30 of my own money including $ 11 shipping charge. After they received my order I was told one of the items was not in stock so I would be receiving another gift card?! AND my order was supposed to include a free pair of earrings which I never received. I called customer service and the man said Racquel was the person I needed to speak to and he would give her the message. Days went by before she finally emailed me to tell me they no longer have the earrings I was supposed to receive and since the money I spent of my own didn’t total the cost of the ring they also didn’t have minus the shipping then I get another gift card. Well I will be giving that card away because I can’t spend money with a company that shows such little appreciation to its customers.

They have nice stuff but way overpriced. Wait for sales. And never try and use their website. Its unstable and crashes constantly. I have tried buying on their site a few times and it never works. In todays world, websites of this nature should never crash. Whoever does their website is a joke and the fact that the store allows it to crash all the time is bad management.

My favorite necklace ever came from Satya: a lotus, Ganesha and a ruby drop. I’ve worn it every day for years, and recently lost the ruby when the chain broke. I dropped it of for a replacement and much to my frustration that even though I was paying for it I couldn’t get a longer chain. Even more frustrating, when I went to pick it up the stone had been replaced with something blue. Even though ruby was noted on my receipt and headquarters called to approve the work, no one mentioned they were switching stones. The lovely woman behind the counter apologized and explained that the main office said my original necklace wasn’t on their stock list so they wouldn’t replace it to what it had been. Instead of trusting the word of a loyal and frequent customer I had to provide photographic proof of the complete necklace. It took over an hour to go through images to find a clear view of all 3 charms.
The sales staff was, as always, lovely. But the rigid rules of the main office during my latest experience with Satya will be hard to forget.

I was given a Satya necklace as a gift about a year and a half ago. When it comes to jewelry, I tend to get very attached and wear the same piece often. The same thing happened here and I wore my Satya necklace near daily. It was originally on a vegetable leather cord that was adjustable — to my dismay, the cord broke a few months into wearing it. I brought it in to a store and they said they would replace it, and a few weeks later I got it in the mail with a brand new cord on it.
A couple more months pass of frequent wearing and I notice the cord is starting to thin like the original one did. I work down the hall from a sample sale space and saw there was a Satya sale happening, so I stopped in to talk to Beth, one of the co-​founders of the company. She graciously offered to replace it with a gold chain, I left it with her, and again — a couple weeks later had a new necklace in the mail.
Just a few weeks later the chain broke.
I contacted customer support and they agreed to replace the chain again. But this time, what I received in the mail was of a much lower quality. The chain was scratchy and uncomfortable and felt incredibly lightweight and cheap. The clasp was sticky. Most tellingly, after only a couple hours of wearing it, there was a dark stain on the back of my neck. I wore the necklace less and less because of how uncomfortable it was, and then — almost predictably at this point — it broke again.
After some emails back and forth with customer service, I got in contact with Beth again who agreed to replace the chain. She explained that they had switched to a different type of chain to combat the rising cost of certain metals — I understand the need to keep things in the price range of your customers but the quality difference was so startling.
I again got a new necklace in the mail a couple weeks later. The chain was lovely, it felt like a quality piece of jewelry, and I felt sure I would finally be done with this back and forth.
That was three months ago. This morning my necklace broke again.
I treat my jewelry well. I never shower with it on, don’t pull on it, store it carefully, don’t sleep with it on. There’s absolutely no reason why I should have had something break or nearly break five times. I’m disappointed that this meaningful gift has become unwearable.
All the customer service I encountered was beyond pleasant, patient, understanding, and accommodating. I’m glad for that, as nothing else in this process has been positive.
If you’re looking for something to wear for special events, nice dinners, or just occasionally, I would whole heartedly recommend Satya. But if you’re looking for a piece to wear near daily, or keep for a long time, unfortunately I don’t think the quality is up to that kind of wear. At this price range you shouldn’t have to worry about if you’re wearing something «too much», even with the best of care.
I’ll be taking the remnants of my necklace to another jeweler to be fixed. Satya had more than enough chances to fix this problem and unfortunately, I’m simply not convinced.

Years ago, I was introduced to Satya Jewelry by a co-​worker. I immediately loved the zen style and minimalistic design. Yet, I never ordered anything off the website to avoid online shopping remorse.
On a recent visit to the city, I dragged the boyfriend here on a girly errand. I sooo wanted to see their stuff in person. The shop is small, well laid out and super cute. The delicate necklaces, bracelets and rings are well displayed in jewelry cases and cubbyholes alongside the wall. The window display is absolutely stunning as well. The staff was super nice, they didn’t hover but were available when I had questions.
And best thing yet? The boyfriend decided to indulge me a little bit and get a little sumpthang-​sumpthang for this lucky lady. The staff was super gracious when I was trying stuff on and super helpful and kind when they were ringing us up. All in all, a successful stop to a highly anticipated stop on my NYC trip… thanks to the lovely staff, the pretty necklace purchased and the celebrity sighting right outside the store (I heart NY).

Love the designs at Satya Jewelry — good for people who practice yog anad even those who don’t. Understated, clean looks. Love it!
Medium-​priced. Some designs come in real gold (14 or 18kt) — and I like those best.

We drove to Satya and actually found parking right in front of the store. I knew it was going to be a good trip. I was so excited, I’ve wanted to go here for some time but there are no storefronts in the Bay Area. So on our Christmas trip to NY I made a special trip into the city just to come here. The store smelled heavenly like incense. They had so many beautiful necklaces that I couldn’t choose just one. I actually bought two and my Mom was nice enough to buy me the third one. They have a large selection of silver and gold. Some are plain and others have gem stones. I got a silver lotus flower necklace with my birthstone and my Mom bought me a gold necklace with jade. The prices were reasonable. My necklaces ranged from $ 38 to $ 118. They also have gorgeous blankets, and other Little trinkets. The Staff was helpful and very attentive. I will be making a special stop here every time I come to NY. You can also go to their website which has a large selection of items to choose from.

You don’t have to be a yogi to appreciate this line of jewelry ~ if you’re looking for bling this is not your bag. Satya Jewelry is subtly stunning & the spiritual theme transcends all denominations. You can just as easily find a pair earrings that work with every outfit or a distinctive neckless that works an ensemble. Satay & Beth are committed to bringing beauty & peace, both inside & out, to all who enter their sacred domain.

I love this store– the staff is friendly but not pushing and the jewelry is unique. All the pieces have a theme and are hand made in Thailand and the US. The pieces are affordable and make great everyday-​wear or gifts.

Great store, friendly and helpful clerks! Most of their jewelry is beautiful. My only real complaint is that you cannot custom combine their jewelry… of if you can, I did not succeed while there. I wanted a different chain for my pendant of choice and they said that option was unavailable.

This is such a lovely store with such lovely jewelry. I like that they have variations on a theme with different stones and that their gold wash is matte rather than shiny.
I recently purchased a citrine piece for my mother and a moonstone set for me. At the risk of sounding hippy-​dippy, it’s hard to find good moonstone jewelry with the stones being clear and not cloudy and Satya has several pieces with excellent clarity of the stones.
Moonstone is my birthstone yo, and channels the energy like you would not believe.
Great place to get gifts for your mom, gf, sister, grandma and even guys if they like the crunchy-​granola.

Their jewelry is definitely hippy crunchy — a majoriity of their designs are based on yoga or meditation. Still love it, oh those beautiful gold cuffs. They are so beautiful.

I just discovered this charming boutique over labor day weekend — all the pieces were lovely, delicate and unique. Their tag line is that it’s «yoga inspired jewelry» — not sure what that really means, except that when I see their pieces, I feel pretty happy inside. :) The service is helpful without being pushy.
