I live in San Diego but I received the loveliest bracelet as a gift from a NY friend who regularly shops at Roslyn’s Jewelry. It looks like a one of a kind piece and I receive compliments on it all the time so I reached out to the owner Roslyn to inquire about other pieces and she was very responsive and helpful. I am hoping to physically go to the store on my next trip to New York to see all of the beautiful pieces in person. People who shop at jewelry store chains will probably not appreciate the uniqueness of the pieces this store has to offer, but if you’re like me and looking for one of a kind pieces but lack in creativity in designing your own jewelry, this is the store for you. I only wish it were closer to San Diego!

My experience here was so bad… its really unfortunate because the jewelry they sell is actually pretty beautiful. Bought a ring for ~$ 800, it needed to be sized, and when I returned to get it (so excited!), the stone had a huge crack in it! To my amazement, the older woman behind the counter (the owner?) pretended that she couldn’t see the crack! It was beyond belief. Finally, after looking through a loop, she agreed that the stone was cracked and said that she would replace the stone. Came back a week later to pick the ring up, only to find that the new stone was a COMPLETELY different color — and, again, the lady pretended not to notice any difference. The original stone was a brilliant green and the new stone was a muddy yellow/​brown. Anyway, I wasted hours of my life and just had so much frustration and disappointment over the whole thing that I would really advise any friend of mine (or anyone) to stay away :(

Mr & I were strolling along Columbus & the fun & funky woolly hats in the windows of Roslyn drew us inside
What immediately greeted us however was the MOST adorable Schnauzer — he was so excited to see us walk in & was a total luvbug. The baby’s owner was just a random customer who was chatting w/​the owners & they were laughing & having a great time — made for such a fun atmosphere!
We walked over to the hat corner & saw lots of knitted, woolly hats of all kinds of wool varities — plus, some were bejeweled, some had beads, some had fur… very unique & fun
I especially liked 1 w/​a beaded lady walking this ginormous beaded spider, on a leash — how whimsical!
2 small things prevented me for jumping on that hat… I tend to have a big old pumpkin head & most hats are too small for me
The price was $ 420 (& this was 1 of the cheaper hats)
So even though we didn’t indulge in any special wares this day, we would be happy to come back & browse some more & just hope that adorable doggie ambassador was there again

How this place still exists while so many other nicer shops in the area have been taken over is beyond me. Went just to browse for holiday gifts and the owner looked at me like I smelled bad. It made me feel so uncomfortable I left within 5 minutes. With only one other customer in the store I cant imagine why she would treat me that way. I’m from the area and I knew the reputation of this store, I went in because i wanted to get something unique. Sorry I can buy overpriced jewelry someplace else.

Stay away. Was treated like I was an inconvenience by the owner. She’s an old lady, in the worst way possible.

Have had the same experience as everyone else in the review board. It’s too bad the old lady with terrible glasses will never see these posts because I don’t think she knows what the internet is… or customer service.

Thanks to all who have gone before, here! I visited Roslyn on Thursday and saw a gorgeous ring I absolutely coveted. The price was steep, not exactly an impulse purchase at $ 4,200, so I took down the information and started plotting out how soon I’d be able to buy it.
Now that I’ve read all your warnings, I think I’ll pass. Yes, I still think it’s gorgeous, but it would not be hard for a good jeweler to replicate. I feel sorry for my young salesgirl. She was very sweet and helpful, but her boss, who was bellowing into the phone, was clearly a dragon. Thank you all for steering me away from disaster!

The own was extremely rude! I was quietly on the phone and I was the only person in the shop (thus clearly not disturbing the other shoppers). The owner repeatedly badgered me loudly asking me if I wanted to see anything with me responding, «not just yet I’ll let you know», to which she forcefully responded «are you sure I don’t want to ignore you» and glared at me until I asked her if she wanted me to take my call outside. She said yes and I will never go back.
This is a shame because the necklaces were cute and I was considering buying one.
Owner is awful– I wouldn’t suggest this place to anyone.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!
I purchased a ring for the love of my life on Valentine’s day 2012. and what not, e few days later a painful breakup. Off course I tried to return the ring and was told that there is no refund of any kind, store credit only, valid for a year, take it or leave it.
I stopped by in the following year to try to find something I like in the store, but nothing is in there but OVERPRICED junk. SO I decided to just get the ring back since it hasn’t been sold, still in the display. And keep it as a memory of my ex. So you see the ring has more of a sentimental value. I went there a week after my store credit expired and asked if anyway they could help me out. the answer was from the owner a short sentence «Nothing I can do». great way to help your costumer Lady. Not even a try… a late fee… a Sorry… I call it a day light robbery, a RIPOFF.
5 minutes later she calls my cell phone saying she feels bad and offers me some discount on my next purchase, and lied about the ring I just saw five minutes ago being sold… Really Lady??? there is nothing in your store valuable, including your overpriced junk and your costumer service skills. No way I’m ever going back to that store.
I can only agree with the other reviews. an awful place with rude service and nothing to buy. DON’T BOTHER WITH THIS STORE! There are way better places to spend your money on the UWS.

I ask to look at wedding bands and the woman tells me I will need to wait until she’s finished setting up another case. I have a rock on my hand and tell then I’m getting married in two months. As in, I’m in the market for a ring… soon. They show no interest in helping me and expect me to just wait till they are ready to help me. There are no other customers in the store. Thanks but I will visit a store that is interested in selling a piece of jewelry to me and treats me like a normal person. They are very rude here.

I have had two bad experiences in this store with the owner. She is not only rude but she contradicted herself re: the return policy.
I bought a hat in her store for roughly $ 200. I asked about the return policy. I was unsure about the purchase and really wanted a second opinion. She assured me that if I bought the hat, she would honor a return, if I did not like it, within 7 days with the receipt. Long story short: I brought the hat home and did not like it (neither did my husband) and I called to say that I would be coming in to return the hat. She told me on the phone that she «would have to look at it.»
I brought the hat in, it was clearly not worn, still had the tag, and was accompanied by my receipt. She would not take it back. At first she tried to say it was worn. Upon further inspection, she saw that it was not. She then made up an excuse about having already paid her designer. This woman is unethical and will do anything just to get a sale.
Buyers beware.

So this is one of those situations where you wish you read the Unilocal reviews before you walked inside and assumed the shopkeeper would be friendly and actually want to sell her jewelry. I went in there back when I was shopping for an engagement ring and maybe because I was dressed casually or told her I was just starting the ring-​shopping process, she didn’t even want to take the rings out to show them to me! It was hard to believe. I totally may have bought the ring here if she was friendly… so strange.
This lady is obnixous and rude and truly doesn’t care one way or the other if you buy here or somewhere else. Her prices are high and while some of her stuff is nice, its not worth dealing with this type of person.
Stay away — or find out for youself :)

I feel SOOO bad for the ladies that work here. The owner seems horrible and so rude. However, I want to explore the shop since they have some nice looking stuff.
I asked for the details on some earrings and the sales person told me it was one gem and then the owner told me it was a different one. Also, the piece I was interested in didn’t have a price tag — price discrimination?

DO NOT SET FOOT IN THIS PLACE. They will sell you what look like LOVELY PIECES, but are really over prices and faulty. I bought a ring there for $ 780, had it appraised at $ 480 down in the diamond district, by two different guys. PLUS stones kept falling out. I replaced the diamonds and topaz at my own cost several times, finally I had the ring assessed and was told it was poorly made and flawed. The stones would always fall out! When I went back, they basically ignored me. Roslyn herself told me she might consider having her «designer» who made the ring look at it, but I would need to pay for the new stones. Yeah… Don’t expect any customer service and DO NOT BELIEVE THE NICE REVIEWS. LIES. SHE HAS A NICE SELECTION — BUT HORRID ETHICS. ON NY MAG… ONE OF HER EMPLOYEES EVEN WROTE A NEGATIVE REVIEW! NO JOKE.

Roslyn has really lovely jewelry, but it is overpriced and the owner’s sales tactics are very aggressive and sketchy. I admired a diamond necklace there several weeks ago and noted the price. When I returned yesterday, the necklace was «on sale,» but the price had also increased dramatically — so much that the price was still higher after the sale than it had been when I first looked at it! The owner also made my uncomfortable, she was very pushy. I would not recommend this store.

Girls, be sure to bring your boyfriend here with you because the lady in charge obviously assumes that women do not have the funds to purchase jewelry of value for themselves. I went in specifically asking about rings, she showed me several, then no longer showed me anything more and said that I should come back when I’m «ready».
She treated both employees terribly, and the entire atmosphere was very uncomfortable and unwelcoming.
It’s a shame, because they seem to have some pretty things for sale. I will absolutely not support an establishment that makes people feel this way.

I admit it, even though I am the textbook definition of single, I can’t help but stop and stare at the beautiful wedding and engagement rings they have in the window at this place.
They also have other beautiful and unique jewelry and fun hats for children and adults.
Girls, bring your boyfriend here and make sure he remembers the address…
