Roosevelt Island Subway F Train

This is one of 3 ways off Roosevelt Island (The other 2 are by car, off the 36^th Ave bridge into L.I.C, and the Tram into Manhattan).
Interesting design for the F train station. 3 Levels deep, relatively clean. Stairs and escalators connecting all 3 levels. If you want the cardio workout, take the stairs like I usually do. haha Like reviewer Tom T. describes, it’s «tubelike» at the bottom. Very high ceilings. There’s an elevator on either side of the platform, for elderly and disabled civilians who can’t walk the stairs or get on the escalators.
On the bottom level, where the F trains come through, on either side of the platforms, there are 2 NYPD security booths, usually with 1 officer in each booth monitoring the platform and security cameras.
On the upper-​most surface level where the Subway attendant’s booth is, it leads into Main Street, the main road that runs straight through the middle of the island. There’s the Red Shuttle Bus stop right outside and a few feet in front, there’s the Q102 bus stop. There’s also a Duane-​Reade, Roosevelt Island Bar & Grill, a Starbucks and some other small shops in a plaza, adjacent to the subway’s exit. Roosevelt Island Public Safety Booth right outside as well.

Beautiful, big and deep. That’s how I’d describe this station. It’s tubelike at the platform, and about 3 stories down.

One of the nicest stations in the subway system. It’s 3 stories & they have working escalators in all of them on a Friday evening. You also have only 1 exit to worry about, which comes out right at Main Street. Coming here, I could hardly believe this station is part of the NYC subway system.
